  1. Thanks....Although, I think we expected Henry...woops I mean McGahee...woops again...I mean Lynch..ahhh same difference just another name!! Too bad the Bills NFL Shirts don't have velcro letters for the name on the shirts so I don't have to keep buying a new one every couple of years! At least Henry waited to do most of his screwing up after he left here as far as we know anyways....
  2. Yeah..he is on the downside... Blesdoe was in a similar position and was hot for the 1st half of the season and then was buying time until retirement. Get the rookie ....get'er done!
  3. Maybe his offer wasn't the same as Washington's...maybe there was a player like M. Lynch or Whitner or Roscoe etc...combined with a pick? or maybe he had 2 players bunched in a trade with a 3rd team for that teams 2nd round pick...to get back into the second..who knows? Just ideas..
  4. For those that want to summarize everything below and save their eyes!! My pick would be Jimmy Clausen QB....Read on at your own risk...lol I have been saying that those would be the two best option as far as realistic expectations in the draft. I really like both players and am torn. I understand both arguements as well as you really need to solidify your lines. The old saying is that games are won and lost in the trenches. I also believe that having the General of the Offense is an integral part of the offense. The QB is the King on the chessboard, and you can't do much...at least most of the time without him. He effects the production of the offense, the RB's, the WR'S, the TE's etc....There was an article the other day or I guess a post on here about one of the years that Blesdoe was here...and how productive the offense was. It was actually ranked 11th in the NFL if I remember correctly....Anyways, the article was trying to build a case to draft a OLT, yet they mentioned a couple of times that the Bills and Bledoe & company gave up 57 Sacks that year!!!! about 10 or 11 more than last year if you could believe it!!! This was talked about twice in the article and although it was trying to suggest we need an OT, it did just the opposite for me and made me realize that they were highly productive...well over 4,000 yards passing!! Big numbers for the WR's and RB's as well....I think that it really pointed out that you can win and be productive despite having a poor Offensive line...even though it's not recommended, but if they had a quality Offensive Left tackle that particular year and a Trent Edwards for a QB that same offense would have probably been far less successful and about 2200 yards passing, tons of picks, fumbles...I know that not everyone wants Trent Edwards to be traded or released, but I do...and I only have a minute to list some why's....A mature QB that is an established NFL QB can usually sense pressure from the defense coming off the edges, up the middle and knows to release that ball quickly. There were times last year even with a injury riddled Offensive lines that the T.V. announcers would mention that T.Edwards had a lot of time, yet he would hang on to that ball, show reluctance, overlook the wide open receiver down field and either attempt a 2 yard dump off pass or take a sack, or worse yet fumble. Trent also is a very lousy cold weather QB, a very poor QB in rain, fog, opposing stadiums, on high profile games, Toronto games, night games, important games...etc...lol...well maybe a little dramatic! Anyways, he doesn't sense pressure well, He still stares down his receiver and the QB's read his eyes, His footwork isn't all to savvy, and he can't run to save his life. Trent seems like a nice (yes man) guy, but he'll say it was his fault...but then he starts to make excuses. He got Schonert fired, and even though Dick Jauron went way beyond the call of duty to promote, and protect Edwards....Edwards just recently passed some of the blame on multiple coach confusion and now all the sudden this offensive philosophy will be so much better since Chan Gailey is calling the plays. Well once this team gets to be a force (if) again they will probably will have a true offensive coordiator again...So I guess that means that Trent will have some confusion with the plays called as their will be multiple coaches involved in the offense again! I think we need to draft a QB in the overall assesment of the two choices given. I think we may have to move up to K.City's #5 spot to ensure that we get Clausen as I have a feeling that a suitor will try to move up to get him. I think Jacksoville may be that team if we don't block them out by moving up...but just remember I said that Jax may try to move up to Washington's #5 spot if we don't...I think QB's are at a premium when they are potentially a franchise QB and I only see 2 QB's maybe 3 that have earned that consideration. We may have to move back into that first round for our OLT by trading our #2 pick and a player like Lynch...or whomever.
  5. I was a little upset for about 12 seconds! Then I said to myself..."Hey, the Redskins pick 4th and they wanted a QB...HMM we may have a .01 chance of getting Bradford and we have a 50/50% chance of getting Clausen now!", Then I rationalized that McNabb is a good QB...but he may hit that wall at anytime and we'd be lucky to get a two years out of him..especially if their is a lockout in 2011. The non-move may be the best thing to happen to us...Now, Nix go get us the next Kelly in the draft and stay away from Jason Campbell now that he is almost disposable to the Redskins!

  7. Straight up for Trent Edwards! If not, than a 5th rounder...but not if that means we're not going to draft another QB in the first couple of rounds!
  8. Oh yeah, The one thing that would really bleep me off is if the Washington Redskins traded Jason Campbell QB to the Buffalo Bills for one of our draft choices. I prefer we don't go after another team's Trent Edwards ! If we straight up trade Edwards for Campbell I'm okay with that unless it keeps us from drafting a QB high in the Draft...I like Bradford, Clausen, Tony Pike, and a little shaky about Tebow...but I think it definitely would ring with excitement at least initially. Can't wait to see what happens...
  9. Okay, here's my take on the QB issues in the draft....I think Washington will be out of the running for a QB now that they have McNabb as they have other positions to fill...I think that's probably an obvious point...I don't know if St.Louis will grab bradford instead of one of the two DT's that have been mentioned in McCoy and Suh. I think we should assume that St. Louis will select Bradford. I think we'e fine with Detroit, Tampa, Cleveland now that they made moves at the positon, Seattle, K.C.....I always wonder about Oakland as they make some irrational picks.. Most years I'd say they would go after DeZ Bryant WR but I don't think so this year....the may go after an OT...Bulaga or T. Williams...I think there is a possibility that they could take Clausen in front of us, but my gut instinct is they won't!! I think the biggest concern would be for Jacksonville to move up to the #5 or #7 spot as it wouldn't make sense to move up to #4 as Washington has their QB now...But if Washington is a willing trade partner and K.C. isn't at #5 and Cleve isn't at#7 then you do it! If you moved up to #5 you should be safe to select Clausen...Scott Pioli K.C.'s GM would probably be more than willing to trade down to #9 and pick up a 3rd rounder this year and at most an additional pick next year in the 5th round. I do not think the Bills are a safe bet at #9 to pick up Clausen. Like I said, I think Jacksonville really covets Clausen but also Tebow as well. At first, I was upset by the McNabb trade, but I think this opened up a possible opportunity for Buffalo to get their franchise QB that they have desired since the Jim Kelly days! I really would be surprised if Bradford slipped to #9! I don't see that happening...I suppose he could but I think somebody will pick him before or a team will move up...Like I mentioned about Clausen....We'd have to trade up most likely and hope that nobody else snags him first or move in front of us after moving up. I don't think you can just stay at 9 and hope these two QB's fall to you. I know that it will be considered a slight reach to move up or even at 9 take Clausen, but I think there is a premium for QB's that have high potential. I don't envision Clausen waiting any longer than pick #11 or 12..I'd be shocked if we didn't take him at 9 if Bradford was gone...But, I think St. Louis will take him with the first pick! Anyways, this McNabb trade stirred the pot and made things a lot more interesting! Stay Tuned!
  10. Here is my 3 round mock draft...it's a bit different from the typical draft I am seeing, but I am not looking at it as my wish list. I am looking at it from the perspective of who will likely be available when we draft instead of needs alone. I also took into account players like Trent Williams OT who are very talented and slated as a 9th pick value, but has concerns about his occasional lack of consistency, poor practice habits, and how he sometimes takes plays off as stated in the Sporting News Draft guide and a few other sources as well....So, I guess I also look at "character" as well...and previous injuries as well. So like it or hate it...it's more about what I feel "could" happen and not neccessarily what I want to happen as I'd love Brian Bulaga OT personally! Round #1 Derrick Morgan DE (Sporting News rank 8.6)-highest, tied w/Suh / Georgia Tech Comments: can excell in the 4-3 or 3-4 as a DE, or as a rush LB in the 3-4 and should have Pro-bowl aspirations. Alternates: Bryan Bulaga OT (8.0)- (If available) If available would be my 1st choice! Jimmy Clausen QB (7.9)- (If available) If available would be my 2nd choice over D. Morgan DE Round #2 Tony Pike QB (7.5) Cincinatti S/N Comments: Pike went from an unknown to a possible first round pick in less than a year and, in our view, will become a good starting QB in the NFL. 6-5 5/8 212 4.88 // 2009 62.4 COMP / 2520 YDS / 29 TD's / 6 INT / 7.46 YDS Per Comp. / Alternates: Bruce Campbell OT (8.1) Maryland, Demaryus Thomas WR (8.6) Georgia Tech, Jonathan Crompton QB 8.0 Tennesee-possibly a 3rd rounder Jonathan Dwyer RB 8.2 Georgia Tech, Anthony Davis OT 8.0 Rutgers Brian Price DT 8.1 UCLA, Mike Iupati G 8.0 Idaho, Sergio Kindle 8.2 Texas Note: I realize some of these players will be chosen in the 1st round, but not all of them. Round #3 Jahvid Best RB 7.5 California (I feel Lynch won't be here...this is ur scatback Chan Gailey) Alternates: Rodger Saffold OT 6.9 Indiana, Tim Tebow QB 5.9 Florida Note: I will be adding more alternates...Don't think Tebow will be there, but if he is good value in 3rd risk vs reward.
  11. If you don't like mock drafts then why would you open a 3 round mock draft???? Do you go to Red Lobster if you hate seafood?? Do you go turkey hunting if you hate guns??? C'mon, you just want to bring everyone down with your complaining!! WGR550 has a whiner line by the way! You probably hate talking on the phone too! Guess we'll hear from you on the whiner line then....How ridiculous
  12. Yeah, I think your right and hit on something here....I think of course that with the money being greater in the first few rounds I think the input is drastically greater in these rounds. I think rather it's Ralph directly or utilizing a organizational puppet like Russ Brandon or whomever, but you can bet that there is a cost consideration involved in their decision as to who they draft. I think if it's down to Clausen or Bulaga at #9 (not that they will be there) Ralph will "strongly" suggest Bulaga and again "suggest" they pick up a QB in the 3rd round. Although, Lossman disproves that theory somewhat I think the money of it matters to the Bills organization, and if they can get some guys a bit on the cheap they will....That is one of the reasons for our struggles....meaning they don't pay the big contract to keep their players: Jason Peters, Jabari Greer, Nate Clements, Antwoine Winfield, Marcellus Wiley, Pat Williams etc.. etc...They figure it's cheaper to replace them if they build a case for a big FA payday! The Bills don't want any part of that nor do they want a Sam Bradford which will break the bank. I think it would have taken more money to sign Bryan Orakapo DE over Aaron Maybin and that may have had some influence in their drafting a 4th or 5th best DE rather than taken the highest rated DE last year that fell right in their lap in which they passed on!!! They always (bleep) me off on draft day and until proven otherwise I expect the same from an organization in which history has continually repeated itself.
  13. Forgot to mention that we'd also likely give up next years 1st rounder as well in the first line of my response...
  14. Well we would definitely give up our 1st #9 this year...and probably a 3rd rounder this year as well. I believe that substituting a player ie: Marshawn Lynch for the third rounder may be an attractive option for both teams. I also don't see it happening, and I would lean towards drafting Sam Bradford as well with the pick! I would have to at least consider DT Suh or McCoy but in the end a QB would likely be the right pick. I would also consider moving up to #3 pick and select whatever remains of McCoy, Suh, and Bradford....I think if we trade up the most likely trade partner would be at #5 Cleveland Browns. Last year Cleveland drafted down multiple times for additional picks! I think #5 pick would allow us to get one of the players we probably would love to have: Bradford (not likely), Clausen (doubtful), Suh (not likely), McCoy (not likely)...but would almost guarantee us Russel Okung OT or Brian Bulaga OT which would be a great scenario. So I am all about moving up to #5 if Cleveland is a willing trade partner...The trade wouldn't require as much in return as the #1 pick either. I think you could move up 4 spots by swapping 1st rounders this year and this year's 2nd rounder or 3rd & 5th round picks OR swapping 1st rounders this year, next years 2nd rounder, and either a player like Lynch or this years 5th rounder. All this is just speculation on my part and I may not be exact with the trade value, but I am otherwise football savvy and believe that I'm in the ballpark with my assesment. Either way I'm just trying to add my opinion to help answer your question and address these scenarios as it definitely is exciting to me and that likely makes me a draft geek!! lol
  15. I hated the Maybin pick over Orakapo at DE when we picked him...but I think we'll have to wait until after the upcoming season to get our answer on Maybin...I think as long as Eric Wood heals properly he'll be considered a good pick...I think McKelvin may work out okay...I can't stand Lynch and overall he's been an average player with more problems than he's worth!
  16. Simple strategy that I would be happy with as long as the player we want is available at our pick in each round! I'd hope for Bryan Bulaga OT in the first...Tebow is fine in 2nd even though I also like Clausen in the 1st round...Getting a NT/DT in the 3rd is important as well... Nice Job!!
  17. I hate to say it, but that is why I was so bleep when the Bills won a game near the end of the season...they were in line for like the 5th pick until that point. The Bills are just unlucky because they get in their own way and the organization hasn't had the right people in management the past decade or so. I can't tell you if the people that are new are going to do better...I am glad for now they are different except for Tom Modrak...I know he had a decade to prove himself and it concerns me that he managed to escape the wrath that D.J., The assistant coaches, and John Guy got when they were released. The good teams generally stay good for the long term when the organizational structure is solid. That applies to business as well as football...Mc Donalds Corporation, Walmart, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, and the Pittsburgh Steelers year in and year out put a competitive team that has a chance deep into the year every year! Then there is Circuit City, GM, and the Buffalo Bills that try to do things there own way in contrast to what other successful businesses do. They keep repeating their same mistakes without ever learning their lesson until one day they are gone!!!
  18. Yeah...I've been saying about 5-11 so we're close in our thoughts here...I think a lot of the Bills starters would be backups on any of your better teams if they would be on their squad at all...We have a lot of undersized mediocre players...Maybin probably was a bad pick last year but we'll see...Pozinjury hasn't been the dominant force we expected....Lynch's big 400 and something yards last year is a joke...and so is his attitude and behavior.....Roscoe Parrish don't want to be hair.....Schobel might as well be retired if he's having such a hard time deciding if he wants to play or not...he's for all intents and purposed already retired!!! Gailey has his work cut out for him....just getting the "right" QB out there will be an accomplishment and finding a few receivers as we only have 2 or 3 on the entire roster and only one is prove...Why did they get rid of Josh Reed??? I think he's coming into his own as a player the past couple of seasons! The switch to 3-4 the first year is usually rough for a team and historically 2 to 5 wins would be about the norm during this transition. This is definitely a team in transition, a lot of player movement, coaching movement, positional movement among returning players like Maybin from DE to LB etc....a lot of holes to fill, they will need time to gel, plug holes, etc....second thought 5 wins may be generous...lol
  19. Your right...any one of the three stooges would be better than what we have on our roster now...I am hoping they get B. Bulaga in the draft...but hey this guys definitely worth a look see..
  20. Wow!! I have been saying a lot of what your saying and it's refreshing to read a post from someone who obviously keeps very close tabs to what is going on and should be going on with the Bills...(Thank you) I almost choked on my drink (water..lol) when I read what you said about B. Orakapo !!! I was so upset last year when he landed in our laps and we passed for the 4th or 5th rated DE in Aaron Maybe Maybin! Nothing like going for the severly undersized player! I have also been studying up on all the college players and have been saying that if our initial needs cannot be filled with the 9th pick (OLT, QB, DT) then I am more than fine with Derrick Morgan who was rated as high as DT SUH at his position by the Sporting News Draft Guide...8.6 and higher than any other players in the draft !! Like you, I agree that having many former G/Tech coaches on our staff including Gailey would probably mean that there would be a strong consideration for this future "Rush LB". I didn't realize the talent that Georgia Tech had on their squad either as they have a top notch WR and a couple of other players that are intriguing as well. I really would be disappointed if we drafted Trent Williams at number 9..I have read some good things about him, but also that he has a tendancy to be lazy during practice and he sometimes takes plays off during games. He sounds like another OT we knew quite well named Williams! I would be satisfied if we got any of these players in the first round: B. Bulaga, J. Clausen, D. Morgan, R. Okung (unlikely), McCoy (unlikely), Suh (.000001 chance), So relistically Bulaga or Clausen and if not then Morgan!!
  21. That 8 pick mock is definitely a scary scenario for the Bills....I think in that scenario you trade down or go to the best available player like a C. Spiller RB or a WR, Your mock takes the best DT'S, OT'S, and QB's away prior to our pick...yikes that's scary. I think if the first 4 picks go as you project...then the Bills might consider using the phones to get into the 5th-7th spot so they can take either Bulaga or Clausen. (I don't like what I've read about Trent Williams having a tendancy to not practice hard soemtimes and occasionally taken a play off...sounds to Mike Williams'ish to me!)...Cleveland leap frogged down the board several times last draft, and Scott Pioli for K.C. would manuever for extra picks to stockpile as well. If they do get stuck at #9 then my favorite pick would be Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech. Morgan was rated a 8.6 at his position in the Sporting News Draft Guide for the 2010 NFL Draft and the only other player rated so high was SUH who also was a 8.6. I also think with the coaching staff consisiting of mostly former G/Tech coaches that their would be a tendancy to select a G/Tech player if everything else is equal. Morgan is projected to be a "rush" LB which wouldn't be a bad thing in our switch to a 3-4 defense.
  22. Lynch, Parrish, Whitner, Edwards, Fitzpatrick, Brohm, Ellis, Hardy, Mitchell, all seem expendable to me!!!! There are others as well. A lot of marginal players on this team. Even Pozinjury (Pozluszny) hasn't been a dominant force..Kelsay, Ellison, Denney,......some of these players might have been released or not resigned though...?? Give Maybin another year..but another year like last and he's in the same sinking ship! There are probably a good 25 players or more that are marginal at best.
  23. It's okay...but I'd rather Lynch and our 2nd for McNabb and the Eagles 2nd rounder. I'd like for us to keep our 9th pick or move down a few spots to pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder. I'd like to see the Bills still pickup a QB in rounds 1-4 who they feel can develop into a future franchise QB while McNabb would be mentoring the rookie QB. But, and this is a big but! If it means the Bills would have a competition between the three stooges that are currently on our roster to be next season's starter if they don't swap 1st round picks and give up a player to get McNabb then I am all for doing exactly as you proposed because there is no way in bleep I want to watch Trent Edwards QB the Bills in the upcoming season!!! I don't even what them to consider the idea which I think they unfortunately are!!!
  24. The article mentions the question of the key offensive positions. It mentions QB, OT, WR...It then depicts that the Bill's Offensive was rated as the 11th best offense. It mentions on more than one occasion that the Bill's O Line gave up 54 Sacks !!!!!! I don't even think our Offensive line is that porous now! It highlights Blesdoe's, WR's, and RB's great stats and closes the article stressing the real need for us to draft an Offensive Lineman (LT). The point is that the article goes to great lengths to stress that our offensive line was bad and that the Offese still was very productive and highly regarded. The article does nothing to materialize the importance of a good offensive line, yet the closing point is that we have a glaring need at OLT in the draft. If I took this article seriously, based on the content..I would draft a QB or a WR before considering a OT based on the level of productivity examples furnished!!!!!! Fortunately, I agree that we need significant improvement at the position. I just think most of the article supports that the OT position is overated as to the overall success of the Offense.
  25. I'd be surprised as well! Sometimes our dream drafts are just that! Often the Bill's dream drafts turn into nightmares real quick. For instance, Bryan Orakapo DE landed right in our arms and we instead picked Aaron Maybe Maybin the undersized DE who may be a LB this year...How about Chris Ellis DE 2 Yrs ago!! Another fine non-factor. Now this guy that posted the subject matter here hopes for Trent Williams...I read several NFL Draft magazines, did some research on-line which are the only tools at my disposal...and what I've learned is that he has a tendancy to take plays off and lack full effort at times. Sounds a lot like another Williams we choose high in the draft several years ago!! This isn't my ultimate draft...It's not the worst, but I like Okung (which will be gone)...and then Bulaga next at that position. After that it's a crapshoot at the OT position IMO.
