TROUBLE SELLING TICKETS (ALMOST)EVERYWHERE
CodeMonkey replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sales guys say it helps sales. I think they just like the company paying for them to party at a football game. If I was running a company and the economy turned south, that's the first thing I would dump. Probably even before the economy went bad. -
Based on the Bills practice notes from yesterday, they are preparing for Indy at least a little bit. Link
-
That is understandable, and in fact most of camp is generally at 1/2 to 3/4 speed. But what stood out to them was basically NO contact at all yesterday.
-
I agree with you (at least that's what I'm hoping for this season) except for the laughingstock part. No one but Bills fans will notice the (hopefully) steady improvement throughout the season. To the national media we will still suck and be the laughingstock at seasons end. And that is fine ... just as long as we can truthfully (not koolaid or blind faith) see Gailey improving this team week to week.

My kids went yesterday for the 5th time this year (I think they are addicted) and the thing that stuck out to them yesterday compared to the other times was the lack of contact. For example, they would run a play to the point of there being a tackle, then stop. The previous times there was tackling as well as a lot of other contact. Chan must not want to risk other players going down this camp.

I agree completely. They probably could not have put Gruden in particular on camera even if that had wanted too without getting a X rating.

"Build Through The Draft" is a salary cap strategy
CodeMonkey replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually wonder why there isn't a farm system in the NFL similar to what is in place for baseball and hockey. Football being as susceptible to injury as hockey, you would think it would be nice to be able to call up players already under contract and at least somewhat familiar with the system. That way you could truly build from the draft. I would think that small cities would love to have a minor league football team associated with a NFL team. -

According to my internet guide: NFL Preseason Football WHAM-DT - 13 - Thu, 8/19, 7:30 PM 3 hrs "Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills from Ralph Wilson Stadium" 8/19/2010, Live, Sports, National Football League, Nfl Game, Nfl Preseason Game Of course the location is wrong, but the game is listed anyway Hmmm do blackout rules apply to preseason? I wouldn't think so, but the greed of the NFL seems to have no limits so it could. I just sent them email and asked.

Any Big Dish Coordinates for Thursdays game?
CodeMonkey replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That usually isn't known until at best a few hours before the broadcast when they activate the feed for testing. Sometimes as little as one hour before the game. This is a good place to monitor starting a few hours before the game. Ricks Wildfeeds -
I think it is ridiculous to have any "swagger" when you suck ass. You should only show that as you are proving people wrong. And unfortunately, the Bills do not seem to be capable of doing that yet.
-
Good in theory ... but there are only 4 preseason games
-
It is true what they said about the Bills right now, like it or not. But one thing I noticed during the game is also true. The only time Gruden took Sanchez's dick out of his mouth was to replace it with Rex Ryan's. I've never seen such a man crush before.

The right thing to do with Trent Edwards
CodeMonkey replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep in mind that Fitz played strictly against the skins scrubs as well. Not saying I disagree with your comment, you just need to compare apples to apples -
That's probably where I would have put it it it wasn't for that bonehead 4th and 1 coaching embarrassment. Because of that I'd probably be in the upper 30's. But in concept I agree with you.

CodeMonkey replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cut Fitz ... Ralph needs the money. Start Trent and keep either Brohm or Brown, whichever Gailey thinks he can do the most with. Put Brohm or Brown in if trent gets hurt, or midseason if Trent still continues to show nothing. -
Chan added a new twist actually. Wasting a timeout at the end of it all instead of taking the 5 yard penalty at midfield thus helping to use all timeouts with 8 minutes (almost) left in the half. That was DJ worthy. Of course if whoever called the timeout learned not to ever !@#$ing do that again in their lives, then it was worth the brain fart in preseason.

The same O that will start against Indy in a few days. That starting O. I know I know, God and the officials are against the Bills. If only that wasn't true, we would be awesome.

Rather be in our position than the Redskins?
CodeMonkey replied to AllDayADay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the first game that really matters. Very true. We can only hope the Bills team from Friday night does not show up that day. -

Like all games. You get over it at kickoff of the next one. -

The skins are doing the same things (not sure about the "youth" part). I'm not saying you shouldn't Billieve. I just think it is time we stop blaming God, the officials, and a international conspiracy against the Bills is all. When we play great, revel in it. But when we suck, say we sucked. Stop making excuses. -
Well I guess I can't argue with that. But Chan does need to figure out who to cut. And I don't think 90% of the team is a viable option

You are actually much easier on this team than any unbiased person would be. We were totally and completely outplayed from start to finish. I'm really tired of the bad call, officials are against us bull ****. Been hearing it for the last 10 years and it is !@#$ing bull ****. Just admit it, we sucked. Yes it was preseason game number one. But please admit it, we were outplayed. Not screwed by the officials or God. We sucked. Please. Don't hide behind "true fan" nonsense. See it for what it was. A horribly played and coached preseason game. No more but certainly no less either. And for the record, it was not just a bad product on the field. But a disgustingly horrible product. The good news is, there is nowhere to go but up from that performance. -
Starters more? Good Lord the starting O played almost the entire first half. I think the starting D was out there that long as well but I am not sure. How much more do you want the starters to play in a preseason game?
