Nike uniform unveiling discussion
CodeMonkey replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So basically the same uniform, remove the rbk logo and add the swoosh and a couple minor things and see how many people buy it just because it is "new". Nice! -
If Fitz doesn't improve
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the problem is more mechanics than time (though more time would certainly help any QB). Look at Fitz's throwing motion then look at Marcias, or Eli's, or Peytons, or even Dirty Sanchez's. It's that odd 3/4 delivery in my opinion, not over the top like the others, that makes Fitz inaccurate. Try it yourself, throw a football with a 3/4 delivery then throw over the top to see what I mean. The further you have to throw it Fitz's way, the more difficult it becomes. I never noticed Fitz's mechanics until I saw him at camp. It is very pronounced at ground level when you are close to him. I like everything about Fitz, except for this. I cannot imagine he can become an accurate passer for anything but short routes with those mechanics. -
If Fitz doesn't improve
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Fitz's play dropped off as much as defenses figured out Gaileys gameplan and Gailey did not respond, as well as injuries (particularly FredEx). I would rate Fitz's arm as below average (mainly due to mechanical flaws in his throwing motion), but everything else average to above average. I expect Fitz to be the same this coming season as he has always been. The difference in the offensive result rests with how the running game can take some of the pressure off of the passing game, and Gailey adapting the entire season and not forcing an offensive scheme that has been solved by defensive coordinators. In short, I think this season is considerably more "make or break" for Gailey than it is for Fitz. Fitz is what he is, he is a well known quantity by this time in his career. It's time to see the heralded offensive genius in Chan Gailey come out. I think Nix is showing us the baby, now its time for Gailey to do the same. -
If Fitz doesn't improve

6-10 is respectable now? Low expectations. I do see what you are trying to say. But recognizing Fitz's limitations isn't exactly crapping on him or trying to run him out of town. -

Luck or Fitz? Doesn't matter because Nix isn't going to get the opportunity to make than choice ... unfortunately. -
Revis on toughest receivers to cover
CodeMonkey replied to Steve O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Impressive compared to other receivers I can see. But he owned Revis? -
Revis on toughest receivers to cover
CodeMonkey replied to Steve O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get the "owned" label people are using. Four games last season with an average of 5.25 catches, 65.5 yards, and 0.5 TDs per game. With not only a pass heavy, but pretty much pass only offense the Bills used the majority of last season, the #1 receiver averaging those numbers constitutes "owned"? -
First for me is the offense in general. The defense should be able to hold their own this season. But if Gailey comes out with his 5-wide short-slants thing again all season and fails to adapt to defenses figuring that out, the offense will sputter. If Gailey truly is an offensive genius, this is the season we will see it.

CJ or Fred? You can only keep one
CodeMonkey replied to FrankReichComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way I see it you keep the player that is giving you both the best all around yardage, and the best value for your money. And that is Fred by a landslide. You keep Fred and trade CJ while he still should have some kind of trade value. When Fred is done, you draft or acquire another running back. Preferably not just a waterbug, but one that can run straight ahead as well. -
Sabres put an a$$-whuppin' on the Caps
CodeMonkey replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They always do it, if there is a Canadian opponent or not. I think largely due to the fact that a lot of people from Canada go to the games. -
Sunday or Monday Night Opener?
CodeMonkey replied to Dont Stop BILL-ievin''s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tebow isn't expected to start and it will take more than a couple FA signings to make the Bills nationally relevant again, so I'm thinking no. -
CJ and Choice in, Fred out...?
CodeMonkey replied to rick in hartford's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. I liked what I saw of him late last season. And if memory serves, Gailey was using him on 3rd and short instead of Spiller. I wouldn't be so quick to discount Choice. -

Yeah, good thing none of THAT never happens in the USA huh Can't argue with that at all. -

The UAE is not nearly as hardcore as other Muslim societies. I have been to Saudi Arabia as well as the UAE and there is a world of difference between the two ... and Saudi Arabia is probably the most "easy going" of all it's neighbors. Women are starting to drive cars in the UAE now even Regarding getting in trouble there, it takes a certain type of stupid to go anywhere outside of the USA and not understand the society you will be visiting. Or even worse, to expect or demand them to cater to the rules of your society. Every country has some rules very different than the USA, not just Muslim ones. Unfortunately many Americans don't get out much so when they do, some of them are that certain type of stupid. And they probably would be much better off just traveling somewhere in the USA. -

I always enjoyed it when I was there on business. There is a lot of money there and gaudy is a way of life, which is what makes it a desirable destination to the super wealthy I suppose. To me it is along the lines of "nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there". Which is OK because I couldn't afford to live there even if I wanted to. -

CodeMonkey replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not funded entirely by Real Madrid, partnership with the government there. And it isn't where they will be playing their league games. This is a resort they are building in an area that attracts the wealthiest people in the world. They are also one of the most popular sports franchises in the world. The UAE is a very nice (and expensive) place to go to, particularly if you are on business and don't have to pay for it . -
Goodell lowers boom on the Saints
CodeMonkey replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take itself too seriously? Super Marios new contract pays him 1 million dollars per regular season game and half a million per regular season game guaranteed. Seems pretty serious to me. -
All Peyton Manning, all the time!
CodeMonkey replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Broncos, assuming Manning can go. A QB contributes far more to the win/loss column that any defensive player possibly can. -
Tebow Trade Watch for Wednesday
CodeMonkey replied to WVUFootball29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all depends on what Gailey thinks he could do with Tebow. If Gailey thinks he can coach Tebow up to the point where he could be the starter in 2013 and Nix could get him for a 4th or 5th he would be stupid not to pull the trigger. -
OVER/UNDER Mario Williams 15 sacks?
CodeMonkey replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's just in the 2 games against Marcia. But I say under. -
TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)

As opposed to the 10,000 threads on who the Bills should draft first or what their record will be next season? Welcome to the off season. -
TEBOW!!! is a Jet! (finally)
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just can't see this happening unless Gailey thinks he can coach up Tebow (he does have the raw materials). But with Fitz's new contract I just don't see it. Of course I thought Manning was a lock for SF so what the hell do I know. -
Soon to be third as Marcia assumes the number one position after this season.

Buddy Nix sure does understand Bills fans
CodeMonkey replied to BobChalmers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It took guts for Nix to go all in with Williams. I hope he did it for the right reasons though, and not to appease the fans. Like Marv said, "If a coach starts listening to the fans, he's going to wind up sitting next to them.". The same would be true for GMs. -
