  1. That's obviously a very valid concern. Hopefully Marrone and Whaley know him well enough to make that determination. I have family in Cleveland and apparently not many people there know much about Pettine and are taking a "whatever" attitude. Apparently some radio personality summed it up by saying that as bad as the Browns offense was this past season, they put 30 points on the board against the Bills. So obviously they hire the Bills DC as their new HC
  2. So if you were offered a job at a different company which was a significant promotion with an equally significant raise in pay, and your current company had the legal right to block it and did so, you would not feel screwed over? Your co-workers would also not see it as you being screwed over? I know I sure would. I understand about stopping the bleeding. But personally I would draw the line at this. And of course this is all hypothetical as of now anyway
  3. Chuck Bullough (I'll save you the Google ... DC at Syracuse)
  4. That's where we agree to disagree. Screwing over one of the subordinate coaches does not exactly make for things being all unicorns and rainbows within the coaching ranks. And we are talking about a LB coach. Is that a difficult position to fill? Were I Marrone I don't think I'd want to go into my potentially make or break season that way. That's just me. Maybe Pettine will get the Browns to pony up for Byrd. Plenty of cap space there too right
  5. For lateral moves I completely agree. But I wouldn't want to block a huge promotion like that. If they do, I'd expect O'Neil to return the favor in kind in the future. Karma's a B word.
  6. I voted O'Neil. If it is true Pettine wants him as DC I have to assume O'Neil understands Pettines scheme pretty well. This would mean the D wouldn't have to start over again with a completely clean slate next season.
  7. I am outraged that WannaStache is not included n the poll !!!!!!
  8. If this happened and the Bills blocked it, that would be a pretty ****ty thing to do. That's a significant promotion. If the Bills didn't want to promote him to DC themselves, they certainly shouldn't !@#$ him over and block the Browns job offer.
  9. In reality Quinn wouldn't be eliminated until after the superbowl unless he either pulled his name from contention or someone else got hired for the gig. So really a meaningless tweet.
  10. It means twitter is ruining this country.
  11. I see it as halfway in between. Not a bad day for the reasons CB cited, making Buffalo an attractive landing spot for a good DC. But I wouldn't call it good either as it probably means at least somewhat of a scheme shift and relearning process for the players.
  12. "and" not "+" So what I was saying equates to: Lynch > Spiller Lynch > Jackson
  13. Could be for Pettine to check out the facilities, meet other FO staff etc.then finish contract negotiations.
  14. I can see where if you valued off-the-field stuff like leadership, character, etc. a LOT ... and I mean a WHOLE LOT ... and you had your Bills homer hat on you could think that FredEX was more valuable to a team than Lynch. But Fred at his best was not a better RB than Lynch is now. And Spiller, please. I understand that the whole Lynch situation makes some Bills fans feel like the geek who got stood up for the senior prom but seriously?
  15. Even if what you think is true, are they interviewing for a HC job or a DC job?
  16. The "game" is necessary so long as one of the candidates is unavailable due to being in the superbowl.
  17. Hard for me to believe when you look at Buffalo's expensive DL anchored by the 100 million dollar man. I would certainly hope that with all that high priced beef it isn't all scheme. .
  18. I guess only making it to the AFC championship is cause for a coach purge in NE whereas it would be cause for immense celebration in Buffalo
  19. Geez how simple could it be. You score a TD and get 6 points like you do now. You can either take the one point like you do now by kicking the PAT, or go for 2, also just like you can now. All this is doing is eliminating the actual kicking of the PAT. Pretty freaking simple. I am all for it. The extra point adds nothing to the game. And for those calling for fewer commercials, forget about it. If anything they will replace the PAT with extra commercials. They need to pay for the crazy NFL salaries somehow.
  20. Well he was saying score points so I was going offense only
  21. Wilson > Manuel (at least right now ... hopefully that changes) Lynch > Spiller and Jackson Seattle OLine > Bills OLine Seattle WR > Bills WR (again, at least right now) So no, I wouldn't agree. Next year, who knows.
  22. Brady made it to the AFC championship game with a pretty weak supporting cast. Tears or no tears.
  23. One I haven't seen yet in this thread is running back. The Bills will need a replacement for FredEx at some point. It would be smart to get a good one before they are desperate for one. Not exactly a hole yet, but it is coming.
  24. 100% agree. Why pick one with an aging QB when you have P. Manning JR. in Andrew Luck. Any why pick a team on its way down. If you wanted an aging QB, go with Denver or NE. The Stillers seem a stupid pick unless you live in Stiller country.
