Will the Wilson trust give a stay at home discount?
CodeMonkey replied to bigbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As others have stated, we do not know the terms of the trust. And we may never know. Typically the trustee would be required to take the largest offer and would be monitored by the state the trust was setup in (generally the state where the person lived). However, the sale of a billion dollar NFL team by a trust is hardly a typical situation. -
What if American football used soccer-style rules?

All true, at least for the moment except for the last line. The same amount of people care, even in the US. You just won't have to hear about it nearly as much. -

I can't imagine a generic comment like that goes against any NDA, though I have not seen it. -
He makes one good play, one !@#$ing good play all game and look what happened My son is off from school and is looking forward to the game Thursday, but I strongly suspect both sides will take it easy and play for the draw. Germany and the US both have a few guys banged up and a easy walkthrough to match play would do them both good.

What if American football used soccer-style rules?

I realize that is largely tongue in cheek, but I think the reason so many in NYC seem to support Arsenal is because YES (the NY Yankee network) must have some kind of contract with that team as they show a lot of games as well as broadcast (over and over it seems) shows about the team. So pretty much in NYC any Yankee fan who happens to follow soccer as well is likely to support Arsenal. He might, I believe he is from around there somewhere, right? But will Cavs fans want him back? They were, and still pretty much are, pretty pissed at him. -

Should be an interesting bidding war now that he is opting out of Miami. -

Sun, July 13, 3:00 PM on ABC. No more so than the strain of maintaining the air of an aficionado of tackle football. -

You are way off in this. Just because they are dominant in one sport is by no means a guarantee they would be dominant in another had they trained for it. Particularly when the sports in question, [tackle] football and football [soccer], require such different abilities. Could the US develop world class soccer players? Absolutely, and we are already starting to. For example, Clint Dempsey has been playing in one of the best leagues in the world for years and the US goalie, Tim Howard, is widely considered to be one of the top 5 (at least) in the world. Your "our sport is better and nothing else matters" mentality is common, unfortunately, among many Americans. Things are changing, albeit it at a snails pace it seems. There is room for all sports I believe. The US is big enough, diverse enough, and driven enough not only to dominate tackle football (which is not difficult as we are the only ones playing ) but to have dominant soccer teams and players as well. I look forward to the day when that is completely realized. -
Trump on Howard Stern this morning discussing the Bills

That is obviously ridiculous on many levels. Besides, I have more faith in JBJ keeping the Bills in Buffalo long term than I do Trump. Trump probably does not have the finances to break the lease so he would keep them here for the 6 years. But as soon as his people ran the numbers after that and saw how much money he could make elsewhere, the Bills would be off like a prom dress. -

I suppose if your view was limited to within the borders of the US that might be true. But for example, if you look at the 10 highest paid athletes in the world in 2013 (didn't see a 2014 list) you would see that there were 2 tackle football players, 2 basketball players, and 3 football (soccer) players. http://www.sportsbreak.com/sports/10-highest-paid-athletes-in-2013/ It would to a vegetarian or vegan. It's all subjective. -

Had one of those teaching "don't let this happen to you" moments with my now 15 year old son when we was probably 10 or 11 or so as well. In lot 1, a guy leaning over the guardrail to the service road heaving his guts out. Staggered away from the guardrail and started drinking more. He still brings it up occasionally as well. Those kind of things have a big impact seeing it in real life instead of someone telling you about it. -

Did you watch the Mexico Croatia match last night? Two textbook handling instances that were so obvious they could be used for referee training and neither was called. Crazy. -
Exactly. Or Harbaugh. My fear is BellyCheat gets Spiller because you know that !@#$er would figure out a way as well.
-
His overall numbers are very impressive to be sure. But he is a all or nothing back. The occasional big runs surrounded by a bunch of no gain or loss carries. The average still looks good on his stat sheet, but puts the defense on the field a lot with all the 3 and outs from his other carries. If Marrone can figure out a way to maximize Spillers big runs while minimizing all of his no gains then, and only then, will Spiller not be an overall liability in my opinion. And if Marrone can do that, then the league will definitely have to look out for the Bills.
-
That is my issue with Spiller as well. Give me a back who consistently runs for 4 or 5 yards every time he touches the ball any day. That moves the chains. Backs like Spiller look good on highlight reels however. Not Spillers fault, it's just the way of the waterbug.

I wasn't there, but this woman generally is not prone to exaggeration and is pretty level headed. I agree with you in general about good natured ribbing between adults like you described. I would however, not expect male adults to be doing that to a woman with her kids unless they knew the woman.
