Pegula hires premiere sports broker for Bills deal
CodeMonkey replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uggg. More speculation being treated as fact because it sounds good. The Bills are not a publicly held entity, this is of course true. But the trustees are still bound by Michigan state law as well as any terms spelled out in the trust itself (I'm speculating, of course, that there might be some). And this ... "So if the trust prefers a certain bidder, and that bidder offers a satisfactory price at the get-go, it can end the process without notice — and choose that bidder." he can't possibly know for a fact. The sale can't get over with soon enough for me. -
Is it? I agree with your basic premise in the post. But they lost Byrd and Kiko, picked up Watkins and some help on the O line. Hopefully Spiller and Manuel will be able to stay on the field and improve over last season. I don't think they have gotten much, if any, worse. But easily better ... that's tough to agree with.

Bills officially for sale - let the bidding begin!

Nah 8-8 would have run away with it here as well. Its a Bills board for gods sake and many Americans are afraid that someday soccer will become the favorite sport here as it is in most of the rest of the world. It was a slam dunk. Thanks for the laugh I did. It's a true world championship after all and would be a huge accomplishment for a country where a lot of people still comment "seriously who voted for soccer? they should get a month suspension." I actually think almost everyone here does realize that, but on a tackle football board it is football good, soccer bad.

This is more like hiring a sellers agent when shopping for a home. Adds gravitas .... I would expect every serious bidder to have or hire help. But OK. -

The bottom link appears dead. But it's an odd choice (assuming its true of course). This guy helps sell teams. Would have made sense if it were the trust hiring him. But then again, he would be able to determine not only the value of the team, but what others might bid for it. This at least is a different type of speculation for a change -

There is a NDA in place with everyone who knows anything so all he can be doing is speculating. -

If the trustees have a twisted sense of humor they would put JBJ in the box -

Also there is no point in dragging it out and keeping the team in limbo. -

Yeah you would think if the trustees had any wiggle room at all regarding which offer to take, Pegula would be at the top of their list. -
I happen to agree with his picks. But it would be nice if he substantiated them a little better than "didn't live up to expectations". There is far less detail there than in your typical post here on the subject. Amazing he draws a CBS paycheck with submissions like that.

Not even close to enough in my opinion. This is a billion dollar acquisition we are talking about here. Right now any and all serious bidders as well as the trustees have a lot of things to consider, not to mention there is an NDA in place. If I were involved in this process, relieving the angst of Bills fans probably wouldn't crack my top 100 things to worry about. Because in the grand scheme of things, it just doesn't matter. -

Flip that around. What is the advantage for them by making it public? If there isn't one (and I can't think of one) then there is no reason for them to do it. -
Tweet him back "Ask whoever gave you the iPad for the unlock code".

In my opinion, running back is a position where you do not need to be smart. It's a position that relies heavily on speed, power, and instinct. Not intelligence. Spiller did not draft himself, so it is unfair to put that on him. But I have been of the mindset from the moment they drafted him that high it was a mistake. Now that he is on the team though, I hope the Bills somehow find a way to use him where he can be productive most of the time instead of a all or nothing back.

What if American football used soccer-style rules?

I have always thought this woman is an absolute assclown, and it seems she is writing this tongue-in-cheek (at least I hope she is), but some of her statements read like she pulled them right from this thread http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2014-06-25.html -
New England vs Buffalo 10/12. Who's going?
CodeMonkey replied to Disgusted ills fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it's her first trip to Buffalo you probably should take her to anchor bar. Just get a small order of wings just so she can say she did, then take her to Duffs or Gabriels Gate. -

What news was that? I must have missed it. -
A poll probably would have been easier to count But I have no problem with you.

MLS is like watching d-league basketball or ahl hockey. Not "major" at all despite its name -

Baseball is generally higher scoring than soccer I think. But it is so god awful slow. If a game is on TV, it is in the 7th inning, and tied or maybe a run difference I can watch. But 9 innings, good lord. But, going to a game with a group of friends on a nice day is fun. The game moves so slowly you can relax and have a good time with your friends and not miss anything. I can watch the Bills (without commercials) but not football in general, i really enjoy hockey, soccer, and college basketball, and I can watch small doses of baseball. I must prefer constant activity, even if it isn't constant full speed action. -

But how were the Germans? Sucking wind or more fit? The weather in Brazil now will certainly make fitness a key attribute to a teams success. -

Its 3 substitutions. But as people are complaining about the pussification of the NFL now, that would be the cry if they tried to do what you are suggesting. A big part of the game is being fit enough to play the entire game. Not sitting on the bench for half the game or more. Kids here, and I assume everywhere, allow unlimited substitutions which obviously makes sense. But up at the pro level fitness should play a role in my opinion. "Friendlies" (soccer term for scrimmages) generally allow unlimited subs, but once you go out you can't go back in. Free substitutions would disrupt the flow of the game too much as well. If they were to implement a "for Americans" rule change, I'd prefer a blue line like hockey over this (though I want neither).
