  1. The Lions fans booed because they were 0-16 and have a ton of holes to fill, and TE is not usually a priority at that point in the rebuilding process. With that said-it was probably a good pick considering every young QB needs a big target at TE as an outlet. So whether they booed or not is irrelevant. Fans opinions at the draft are not the be all end all. for the record- i was one of the people against taking him at 11. Plus Mr. Football knowledge, read more articles; the bills tried trading up to get Pettigrew in the 20's. Lions beat them to it. Good for them. nah nah nah?...rub it in your faces? get a life. its football. certainly nothing to gloat about-considering you had nothing to do with the decision making process you fool.
  2. agreed. who are we to tell another person to stop doing what they love. its not our legacy, it is his. all for him making his own choices...just like anyone else in this world.
  3. hold on a second, let me hit this little pipe i have. ah yeah...now im dreaming. lets go get peppers.
  4. denver is a very sad to place to be i imagine shannahan+cutler > mcdaniels+orton i dont know how anyone in that city has any optimism what-so-ever
  5. we could use someone at LT or RT, think he can do that as well?
  6. OK- Here you go everyone. Rookie year production from good to former good tightends. I left out Winslow bc his rookie year was his 3rd NFL season-80+ catches though...pretty good. As you will see, there numbers are all pretty much the same as rookies. G GS Rec Yds Avg TD 10 10 29 340 11.7 1 D Clark 16 9 37 314 8.5 6 C Cooley 16 12 25 330 13.2 3 A Crumpler 14 12 34 352 10.4 5 O Daniels 10 8 20 265 13.3 3 V Davis 16 13 34 363 10.7 1 B Franks 15 11 24 389 16.2 2 A Gates 16 0 33 368 11.2 2 T Gonzalez 12 6 16 206 12.9 1 T Heap 16 6 48 535 11.1 3 D Keller 16 16 39 485 12.4 4 R McMichael 16 15 39 459 11.8 6 H Miller 16 16 44 444 10.1 3 Z Miller 14 4 39 391 10 2 G Olsen 13 5 18 286 15.9 4 T Scheffler 15 14 74 894 12.1 2 J Shockey 15 7 35 347 9.9 1 J Whitten
  7. Dont know if I am giving anything substantial here; just went to NFL stats and checked elite, and formerly elite TE's in the league. ALL OF THEM across the board had eerily similar numbers in year one. 25-35 catches. 300 yards. 2-5 tds. You will also notice, most of them had there breakout years in year two with double the production. Check it out at espn, cnnsi or nfl.com. Its pretty standard across the board. Gonzalez, Gates, Cooley, Heap, Crumpler, Franks, etc...... I suppose 30 catches, 300 yards and 2.5 tds is the over/under for Nelson if he ends up being the starter in year one.
  8. agreed. good example in terms of measurables..
  9. thanks for calling that out. we need to see if this dude can play at 250 let alone 260. adding weight and maintaining skill set is much more difficult than people seem to think. as for the freeney comparison-they are two completely different body types (6"1-261)---and he is faster than maybin. telling you all-maybin is built like shoebel. that is what you are getting if maybin plays to peak (which isnt really a bad thing).
  10. agree 100% if they wanted him, they would have gone after him before draft. that goes for any olb for that matter. probably wont sign anyone till draft picks are signed at this point, and it will be more low/mid tier players.
  11. According to your measurables....no. Luckily measurables dont mean everything...but I wouldnt compare him to Freeney, thats for sure. Not to sound like a homer...looks like Maybin is built more like Shoebel believe it or not.
  12. pancake an nfl linebacker week after week is different than pancaking college ballers week after week. im not denying his talent-but he needs weight to hold up long term in the nfl. every player drafter has sweet highlight films
  13. BC he is 20 pounds underweight. As of right now he is a big WR only and would be useless lined up next to the tackle. Now I know that TE's are more like WR's now and days-but not at his weight. My guess is teams are concerned about having to not only teach him the NFL game, but also get him to add 20(which is easier said than done-and retain skill set) is a daunting task. I love the pick-heres hoping...
  14. PLEASE stop the AYERS talk. good size and good combine. Oversized DE good against the run, average pass rusher. HE DOES NOT CURE THE BILLS PASS RUSH NEEDS. If they dont get double digit sacks in college, they probably wont in the NFL. Im praying we dont take this guy at 11. Im tellin you all...E Brown is the purest rusher in the draft. 10 pounds and he is potentially golden.
  15. wow...eerily similar to mine. i prefer olive loaf however
  16. i dont see it...however, it gets me thinking about the Bills uni's and how much i despise them. I would love for them to go back to a more classic look from the 80, or even 70's. basic color scheme. solid, single colored jerserys are the best. ei; Giants, Raiders, Bears, etc... simple is better-arena style blows
  17. and all the students in the classroom lower their heads and look everywhere but directly at their teacher
  18. Dont know if it is the most accurate, but certainly my favorite mock. Brown may be best DE in draft if he puts on 10 pounds...which most DE and DT do when they get out of college. If they get double digit sacks in college-they can do it in the NFL. If they dont get double digit sacks in college-they wont do it in the NFL. Check out the stats of these guys at www.footballsfuture.com decent site
  19. The only player worth a damn actually had his best years in NE and Miami...LOL Go Bills
  20. Those first two names sound familiar. Sigh
  21. Absolutely Right. I could care less how often he catches the ball. Seems like over the last few years, a large percentage of the time the Bills cross the 50- is when Roscoe has a great return. Even with TO and offseason optimism aside, Bills O has been weak. Trading Roscoe probably not prudent at this point.
