  1. debbie downer this is not a surprising figure for a team that runs the 'cash to the cap' philosophy. my understanding is that they count bonuses against the current year instead of prorating them(unlike wash). we are a small market team, the bills are doing what they have to do in order to survive. if i am wrong on any of this...please correct me, i am not a cap guru
  2. no no-he had it right with what he said to you. even your second statement doesnt clearify anything
  3. Really? getting a 3rd olb who will not be in on nickel and dime packages is more vital than a good DT when we had one of the worst run D's in the league? DT's make LB's look good, not the other way around. Im not trying to attack you, and I am not saying a olb wouldnt be nice-but I am sure if the Bills had any REAL shot at getting a player like Henderson-they would gladly live with Ellison instead of a Pisa Piso
  4. yup. that is correct. good luck convincing that to all these bills fans who are 'sign anyone you can' hungry. he is not even worth the 3 million he was due to receive with the Rams based on his difference making ability. that is why he was REALLY cut from the Rams. not the whole "he is not big enough for our system" crap. of course the rams and his agent are going to play the P.C. game, that is how business works. does everyone really think the the Rams brass was going to come out and say, "well, he just wasnt playing up to the 3 mill we are about to pay him. so he has to go". hardly ever do teams say what they mean......... it would be nice to have him-but he is an upgrade, NOT a savior
  5. agreed. he isnt that much an upgrade over ellison. i can wait for the bills to spend elsewhere-even if it is next year. for multi-millions a year, get a IMPACT/GAME CHANGING player. which pisa is not
  6. this pretty close to being fully accurate, but you cant hinge the whole argument on race alone for forgiving him. black or white...he grew up differently than most of us. of course his values are different. hell, the chinese eat our beloved dogs and cats, but i am sure no one is saying the rockets need to part ways with Yao Ming. now i know the circumstances are different..the hanging, drowning and electricutions are gruesome. but again, he was brought up in a culture that does not value dogs on the same level of valuing human beings. wrong, but forgivable.
  7. Football is suppose to be fun. So is being a fan of football. Since we have never won the big one, are we supposed to have a grimace on our face all day? I would not have gone to airport myself...But I think it is pretty cool some people did. My guess is, this guy who wrote the article, probably stopped believing in Santa by age 4. If being a fan was not fun, we wouldn't do it. Irrelevant article.
  8. maybe superbills12 is Obama's screen name for TBD. It would make sense.
  9. while I was a Madden fan, I can respect anyone who did not enjoy listening to him. we all have our own tastes. i want to add, however, that it is not fair to pigeon hole Madden with Kornheiser. 2 completely different broadcasters. one knew football inside out(whether you liked him or not), and the other was a journalist with no true football background, or knowledge. i know that wasnt the point of your post, but felt it was worth commenting on considering it would be an insult to have madden to anything w tony.
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4174469 I'm pretty happy about this for various reasons...namely being that I would rather listen to an ex-coach talk about the game than a sports journalist. That is my generic take... Curious about what everyone else thinks...
  11. you have anger issues. or at least jealousy issues. what an odd thread to get started... Go Barry Bonds! Go Pete Rose! Go Bills!
  12. only relevant statement on this thread. lol. i love it
  13. My brother used to subscribe to it. He said its basically a way for gossip junkies to get their rocks off. Never really gave him information that he could: A) Not get from another website B) use based on actual facts Just a lot of 'what if' scenarios. If you love gossip I guess it is worth it. If not, just go to cnnsi.com. Or go home and watch espn at 6pm. You will miss nothing.
  14. THE RAIDERS? YOU ARE COMING BACK WITH THE RAIDERS? Thats not an issue of schematic systems. That is an issue of system in place from the Front Office. Randy Moss anyone? PS-
  15. its not bad team=bad player...thats not the logic at all. its when a bad team CUTS a supposed good player that raises the eye brows. i dont want to hear system this, or system that...really good players can play any system, period. i am all for signing him. but im not expecting a championship or a jump to Top Ten D bc of this guy. if he was a difference maker, he would not have been cut; the rams would have found a way to use him. thats all. no rain on anyones parade. he is an slightly aboveaverage olb.
  16. agreed. upgrade over ellison, but not by as much as we would all hope for. i can see it now. Young OLB in His Prime gets cut by one of the worst teams in the NFL, leads Bills to Super Bowl... not a game changer people...
  17. Thats exactly what I was trying to convey. He is a decent player, not great. If he was a difference maker, he would not have been cut simply bc he was undersized. production is production. good players on D can work in any system. PLUS-good players in their 20's do not get cut if they are true difference makers. somebody has to get tackles on that crap for nothing D the rams had. yeah, he is better than ellison, but so what? lot of people we brought in are, doesnt mean the D jumps into the top 10 bc we potentially sign this guy. and i am sticking to my guns-I KNOW most of you have never SEEN this guy play. reading up on peoples stat lines do not make you a player expert.
  18. is this another classic case of everyone just wanting the bills to sign someone to sign someone? yes it is. nobody is concerned why the leading tackler for one of the worst teams in football is being cut? i am sure he is not a bad player, but he is not a difference maker-or this would be news somewhere other than the afc east blog on espn.com. 2 lbs in DJ's D typically. lets bring in levi for a physical and see what kind of shape he is before the bills throw money out there to make it look like they are doing something for the fans. OT and DT are FAR bigger needs than olb for this team. sorry about being a debbie downer here, the situation sounds fishy. besides...raise your hand if you have seen(or heard of) this guy play-somewhere other than on youtube? ...silence
  19. that is irrelevant pertaining to mjohns point-he is dead on. most QB's at the college level(especially big programs), all they do is win. he has goofy mechanics, and always throws to a wide open player-plus college D's play him way up due to his threat to run ASAP after the snap. system QB written all over this guy. with that said-i love watching him play college ball. very exciting.
