  1. If three teams are for sale could they be purchased by one of L.A. groups thereby reducing the chances of the Bills moving?
  2. I think this is what the OP was talking about. My link
  3. Mark Gaughan is reporting that Ralph Wilson worked very hard to make sure revenue sharing was part of the agreement. Is the improved revenue sharing agreement a nod towards Ralph for having the foresight about the 2006 agreement?
  4. Gotta give props to the Bills for having members of the armed forces wearing the new uniforms on stage.
  5. Its a behind the scene view of a training camp from the NFL. Its on HBO and usually runs four episodes. It shows coaches and management making decisions about personnel. It also gives a up close view of certain players from stars to UDFAs. Its pretty cool.
  6. I think the Packers would be a good choice. Super Bowl Champs, rabid fan base (much like ours). It would be fun to see how they will prepare to defend their title.
  7. This ought to be interesting, based on the reports about Gundlach's ego he sounds like Mark Cuban.
  8. Quinn reminds me a lot of Gregg Williams. Williams was going to run his schemes even though his personnel was ill suited for it.
  9. I was also at the game I never really understood what a redneck was until I met all those Cowboy Fans. Also great thread I still live in Buffalo and it is great to see how people from all over the country became Bills Fans!!
  10. Luck still has two years of eligibility remaining, who knows what he will do at the end of next season.
  11. If anything I could possibly see a new owner maybe wanting to play one or two more regular season games in Toronto, but moving the team there looks extremely doubtful.
  12. I think the invite was for Bills Season Ticket Holders.
  13. As per Daily News "It's very difficult," Wilson said. "We've had a tough time. We've hung in there. Buffalo has lost population and it's a tough go. When I came in the league, it was the 14th largest city in the league. All the corporations moved out of Buffalo. We're doing alright. We will make it, but it's not easy." We can only hope.
  14. Another issue to consider is where do you build a new stadium? Somewhere in Niagara County would make it closer for Canadian fans to come to a game; But that would eliminate Erie County as a source for potential funding. Promo is right any new stadium would have to be part of an entertainment complex. Would it be possible to have Niagara and Erie both sales tax to get a new complex built? Another issue what happens to the tax after the stadium is paid for? Politicians in WNY seem never to be able to get rid of a temporary tax.
  15. Just a hunch but I could see a combination of the Jacobs Family (Delaware North Companies) and Terry Pegula purchasing the team with Pegula acting as the majority owner. That way Jacobs could also own the Bruins and not be in violation of NFL ownership rules. I know Pegula has stated that he has no interest in the Bills, but after the reception he got from WNY while purchasing the Sabres, he might change his mind.
  16. Does it surprise anyone Jones and Snyder would want to move any small market teams to a larger markets? I am sure any prospective owner wanting to keep the team in Buffalo would have to meet a set of guidelines. These probably would include maximizing local revenues (First Niagara Stadium anyone?) and actually a no brainer, probably one or two more games a year in Toronto, and the end of revenue sharing by the larger market teams. Perhaps the eventual construction of a new stadium or a major renovation of the Ralph . If the Bills do expand the Toronto series, perhaps they could recruit more corporate sponsors and have them sign one deal to cover suites in Orchard Park and Toronto. All pure speculation for now.
  17. Another piece of information could possibly come from Tom Golisano's final press conference as Sabres owner. He cited the example of the Wegman's family. Robert Wegman had turned over assets of his company to his children prior to his death thereby eliminating the tax burden on his family. Golisano stated Ralph is a smart business man and he is convinced that a succession plan is in place. This is all pure speculation, however I have noticed the past few months that the Bills are no longer the first team mentioned to relocate to LA.
  18. PTR, you are one of the most respected posters on TSW. Just wondering how old this information is? Cooke has not been involved with the NFL since his death in 1997. Hopefully the NFL mindset has changed in 14 years. I still think the Jags are most likely the team to move
  19. Agreed I do not think he wants to be the majority owner, but after seeing how WNY reacted to his purchase of the Sabres, I would not be surprised if he joins a group wanting to keep the Bills here.
  20. Looks like the Bills have been poaching other scouting staffs. Just got the text from the Bills about Tom Gibbons being named Director of Pro Personnel and Chuck Cook is the new director of college scouting. Gibbons is listed in the Chargers website as a regional scout for the Northeast. Cook was the Southeast Scout for the Dolphins.
  21. Even Buddy and Chan realize they need a Franchise QB. Newton and Ponder were two they probably thought were the answer and Ponder was not a third overall pick. Obviously if they felt that if Andy Dalton or Colin Kaepernick were the answer they would be the 34th pick.
  22. Add some Labatts Blue and that is well worth the trip!! BTW Duffs or Anchor Bar?
  23. Do we really want to draft a QB with a possible drinking problem to an area where the bars stay open until 4 AM?
  24. Kelvin Sheppard ILB perhaps. Gailey loved him in the Senior Bowl.
