I thought that years ago with Hardy. At 6'6" he would have been a monster tight end if he could have picked up about 30lbs. I am in the same boat with cantankerous here. I think Nelson is way too skinny and doesn't have the frame to bulk up enough to be a productive TE in this league. Personally I think we have our future recieving Corp on this team except we may be letting a few players loose.
Johnson is a number 1 recieved in this league and proved it last year.
Easley COULD be just as good as he has the prototypical WR body for an NFL reciever
Nelson and Jones could be our #4 and 5 recievers easily as they have good size, speed, hands and route runners
Parrish and Evans might actually be cut or traded for anything we can get. Evans has shown time and again he is not a #1 WR in this league, he might not even be a real #2. Parrish would be great to have for a slot reciever and return specialist but the guy weighs less than my left leg and gets injured just about every season. Whe your 170lbs in this league your EXTREMELY undersized and your going to get hurt. Personally I'm suprised he's managed to stay in the league this long without being killed on the field.
That's my take. Enjoy

I'll start by saying I'd like to go after many FAs now that the draft is over. Personally I feel the timeli e is better to have the draft and then the FA period. With that being said, here's my list of potentials I'd like to see brought in for visits:
QB
Young is my number 1. Ya, he's been very controversial but if we keep him to back up duty this year and give him a shot to start next year we could get a good look at what he is first hand and what he COULD become. At the least, as a backup he's a good pickup.
Thigpen would be my 2nd choice since he has already worked with CG
OL
Clabo would be huge and bridge the gap between so e of our younger players u til they are ready to take over as starters.
Gallery is my 2nd choice. But he would at best be starting at G not T, and be a good backup/depth option on the line.
TE
Boss, Miller, Scaife in that order
LB
Morrison is about the only one that I'm aware of since I haven't looked at the FA lists that much.
Kimwanuka could potentially fit in as a DE or an OLB and would be worth every penny
CB
Asumough is by far the best FA available and would be huge if we landed him. If we offered him a contract to be the highest paid CB in the league it would be worth it.
S
Weddle would also be a good pickup.
Before any of this takes place it's important to resign Florance first and foremost. It would give us Asomough at starting CB along with Florance, McGee and McKelvin. And would give us a chance to find out if we would rather have Williams at CB or SS
Then Poz
Then Think hard about Whitner. He may not be amazing and he's been a crybaby, but would give us a year or two until Searcy can start.

That's is my passport photo funny man Jim. Unfortunately for the guy at the post office he had to try twice so I was pissed seeing as I was late for a job. I smacked him in the head when I left. It reminds me of how the Jets is gonna smack some people in the head this year too.
Late for a job huh? I didn't know gay male prostitutes were on such a strict schedule. I guess when you suck the best d&$k in NYC your calender gets full.
Last I checked the Bills have been to more Super Bowls in the last 50 or so years and the Jets haven't made it in how long? Can anybody give me a timetable on the Jets last Super Bowl appearance?
Go back to attempting to read foot fetish boys book about how he likes his wifes pinkie toes shoved in place that are exit only.
Jets suck. Just because they play in one of the weakest divisions in the NFL (exception Pats) doesn't mean they are any good.

No need for the 5 reasons OP. Drayton was easily the best CB on the team last year. If we don't keep him I'll be upset. This is the perfect time for Nix to prove to fans that they are committed to do anything to make a winner. Sign DF and drop Whitner. If it's the other way around I think I'm gonna vomit.

Buddys comments about how Donte won't be a Bill if he doesn't want to be here sums it all up. He thinks Donte is not worth on the open market anywhere near what he is asking for. In the end, he won't be signed by any team. Buffalo will make him an offer much less than what he was making and less than what he was asking for and it will be up to Donte if he decides to take less money.
I'm on the fence about him comming back. If we get him cheap that's great. We still ha e another Safety on the team to help gap the young Williams and Searcy in to starting roles and he's really not horrible, just not worth what he's asking.
At the same time, I'm not sure I want his childish attitude, and bad decision making on the field to rub off on the young, newly drafted players.
At the end of the day, if we get him at league minimum and he accepts the offer then It might be worth it.

Whoever wrote this is an idiot and obviously hasn't watched a Bills game since 99.
Um, we gave up over 170yrds a game onthe ground. We got the best DL In the draft. Hands Down.
Fitz threw over 3k yrds and 24tds after missing 3 games last year. But I bet he says Aaron Rodgers is potentially the best QB In the league. Guess what... Fitz' stats were comparable over a 16 game stretch.
Um...... If anyone would have looked they would have seen that we are losing a starter on defense at SS and CB, and another DB for depth in Youboty. We drafted what were losing and that's a good thing. Williams will be better than Florence or Donte, whichever position he plays. And Searcy will most likely play SS in time after Williams gets good enough to start at CB, or when Wilson slows down.
Yeah, we have only 2 RBs on the roster you asshat!!!! The Pats picked 2 backs in the 2,3 rounds. And they already have like 6 on thief roster. Not to mention that CJ didn't do anything last year to warrant keeping a hefty role (not that I agree, just saying) and let's not forget about how Freddy is pushing 31 by th time the season starts.
The great giganto (Jasper) we picked up played OL and DL in college you pud! If you knew anything about football and the draft you would understand that late round picks are usually made for taking a shot on guys that are usually not that good or they would have been drafted earlier but are gigantos or superior athletes. If this guy has the drive to succeed in this league nobody is ever going to stop a 400lb DT or lineman.
Whoever wrote all this crap should end his/her life because they know absolutely nothing about football. Ok. I'm sure I'm just one of those fans you feel sorry about that doesn't know anything.

I was just thinking Sam Acho also billsred
I've wanted hi. For a while now. It's amazi g he's fallen this far IMO. He's moved down a lot in recent months. He's a monsterous athlete. Big. Fast. Explosive. I want him here. Then his twin, but at the TE position in Virgil Green. Both sick athletes.
-
I'd take VY in a jeartbeat in FA. We've seen what Gailey can do with a mobile QB. If VY can get his head straight we could be looking at similar play as Michael Vick in Philly last year.
-
A lot of acceptable linebackers still left. The corner might have been a savvy pick after all.
I was just having this conversation with someone bi think the Bills and Pats realized there was going to be a run on DBs. It's obvious that the Pats held onto the pick as long as possible and we know they were listening to offers. We both knew something about the DB run in the 2nd.
-
I agree with Casey.
Before hi. Though I'd want Mason Foster, Sam Acho, or Dontay Moch. Probably in that order only because I think if we take 1 in the 3rd then 1 of them, prolly Casey will be there in the 4th.
-
This guy is and will be a starter and be damn good for years. At either Safety or CB he will be good. I'm not sure Florance is done. I'm Hopi g it means Whitner is done instead. Or maybe both. Who knows.
-
For what it's worth there has been quite a few DBs taken so far in this round. NE and BUF might have been the visionaries here btw. And for those that think we don't need a DB just wait until week 3 when McGee gets hurt again for 6 weeks like every year.
-
I absolutely live this guy. Tha is for the video Cotton. Males me love him even more. He sounds like a great locker room guy and is just nasty on the field.
-
Thanks for the video. I think I need to change my pants and take a shower now.

They play the shout song during bills picks at the draft. So yes you heard fans singing it. It's pretty cool actually. Makes you feel like your at RWS when they play it there. All the Bills fans go crazy. We have a pretty damn strong fan base at the draft usually.
-
Actually, I agree with him.
We have a lot of average players, and no depth in some areas. We have lost a few close games the last couple years, and have had pretty difficult schedules.
Does this mean we are a great team? No. But if we add a couple good players at key positions, we'll be pretty good. Instead of needing a complete team replacement.
Example....
Let's say Darius and Merriman work out for us. All of a sudden we stop the run better and get to the QB more often. Which helps out our already ok secondary. We aren't playing from behind as often, so Fitzpatrick can take a few less chances. Our OL continues to solidify (it did OK last year), CJ "gets it" in his second year, Easley, the Nelsons, and Parrish play to their potentials... we have a decent offense. Etc.. See how all of a sudden we become a better team without a bunch of changes?
Obviously this isn't a guarantee of success, but imo, it's easy to see that we aren't too far away. It's just a matter of people playing to their potential, staying healthy, and having depth when injuries do happen.
I agree. Great reply post. We have too many guys that COULD be really good players IF things just come into place.
Batten
Spiller
Moats
Merriman
Bell
Easley
Nelson
Jones
Maybin (I know. I thought this would make everyone lol, but truth is he COULD still be good enough at least to play)
Troupe
Carrington
Coleman
Even Johnson because we don't know if what were getting is what he did last year or if he only scratched the surface of his potential.
Many what if's on this team. But if even 50% of them contribute on a regular basis were already miles ahead of where we were last year.
Just saying
-
There's a prevailing assumption that we need an OLB. I'm not sure how or when this rumor started, but I wouldn't hold your collective breath, Bills nation. Between Kelsay, Moats, Merriman, and (yes) Maybin, it's not exactly a position of "need."
I agree with your thoughts. Don't forget Batten and Coleman who could play both ILB and OLB. I would take Brooks Reed if he was there though. If Bowers is gone that is.
-
A few weeks/months ago if you were looking at most mocks they had 3 guys within the top 5 picks on the DL.
Bowers
Dareus
Fairly
would yo ever imagine that the Bills could have the chance to take 2 of them? Talk about fixing up your pass rush and run defense.
If the Bills take Bowers, dare I say that many of the so called experts would say we had one of the best drafts of 2011 (that's hard to even imagine considering the lack of rspect we get from the rest of the sports world).
Can you imagine this?
3/4:
DE- Bowers/Carrington
DT- Williams/Dareus/Troupe
DE- Dareus/Williams
4/3:
DE- Bowers/Carrington
DT- Williams/Troupe
DT- Dareus/Troupe
DE- Kelsey/Carrington
I know he has the knee issue, but he was projectd to be a potential 1st overal pick before all this. I'm not saying he is recovered or think for sure that he will, but would t it be worth it to get him an entire round after he was projected? Does anyone know what the $$ was for the 34th pick last year? Is it worth it to take a chance?
IF.... Bowers is still there at 34, do you want to pick him? I would have opened a vote but I'm unable to do that from my phone.
-
Bowers
Reed
Ayers
Acho
Sheard
Mallet
in that order
-
That's hardly breaking news on ESPNs part. I mean they are only the 4 best players in the draft (I know no one likes Newton, but with his upside and Carolinas need for a QB it's not a reach)
I can't believe some idiot gets paid to write this crap.
-
Have fun Mark. Let me know if you run into John Clayton like we did in 09
-
Even if that was true. It wouldn't matter since the Bills are picking in the #3 range.
-
The question always comes down to whether your franchise is willing to take the risk of looking foolish by selecting a quarterback that doesn't become elite.
Those franchises that are scared of looking foolish are those that rebuild to 7-9 year in and year out.
Will Gabbert be an elite NFL quarterback? Unlikely. It's always unlikely. But it happens. Same with Cam Newton.
Take a chance and fail, or look the other way and languish in mediocrity.
you said it perfectly my friend. I agree. I have no idea if Newton or Gabbert will become the next studs at QB or if they will become the next J Russell or Ryan Leaf. But if we don't ever take a chance on one of these guys we will never find out and have our lame duck QBs that we have had for the last 10+ years. Losman is the only o e we ever took a shot on and to be honest he might have been a decent QB if he didn't have the dumbest coaching staff in the history of the league coaching him his entire career. Trent was the next biggest guy we took and he was still only a 3rd round pick. Honestly I feel the same way about Trent as I do about JP. They both had all the potential in the world and IMO they were both ruined by sub standard coaching. I feel much better about Nix and Gailey and feel if they think they can make one of these guys (and that includes Fitz) the next franchise QB I'm all for taking a shot.
If we never buy the tickets were never gonna get to Disneyland.

I think some of the new guys were rated too high. Whitner, Spiller and Wood on potential. We know nothing yet at this point. I might move OJ to top spot and Jim and then Bruce. Jim probably meant more to the organization then Bruce did and OJ (regardless of what he is accused of or probably did off the field) is one of the best running backs in the history of the game.
What About Bulger?

No thanks. He's been washed up for a few years now. That's why St. Louis got rid of him and drafted a real QB. I'd rather take a flyer on a V. Young type and hope he can mature than take a washed up Bulger (who was never really that good anyway) knowing he will never be any better.
