Brett, of course most if not all of us here live Corey and what he brings to this team. Of course we all want you to pass along this to him as well. Please do us this favor, please make sure Corey personally pumps the he'll out of the crowd this co I g Sunday against the Pats. We truly hate the Pats and thier fans with a passion. It has been so damn long since we've beaten them it's sickening. We needs the Bills to be fired up for this home game. I've realized the best way to do that is feed off the fans. If the team gets us pumped up, we can make more noise than a jet in that stadium. I know this will make the players fired up. So please pass along to Corey to pump the crowd up on kickoffs in the end zones like crazy this week. I'll be at the tunnel endzone and I expect Corey going nuts getting us as loud as possible all game. There's nothing like Ralph Wilson Stadium when it's wild and crazed. We need a reason to get that way. The players can do that to us but we need a good game and a reason to shut all the Pats fans up.
Thanks for stopping by Brett, your wlecome back anytime.

Why this team can't keep a good Defensive Back for many years?
Remember Winfield, Clements, Greer and now Whitner.
So enjoy Jairus Byrd for the next 2 season, cause he will going to go elsewhere.
I know Byrd had an AMAZING rookie year, but he hasn't looked good at all this year. Actually he looks very similar to Whitner. So if many people here don't think Donte is worth keeping, then why all the love for Jarius? Not saying he won't be better than this year, but I don't think he's as good as last year either. Maybe somewhere in the middle.

How about the people who have completely given up hope on Maybin? Seems like 90% of the board has.
Unfortunately, this is Maybins 2nd year and he looks like he doesn't belong on an NFL football field. I was one of the fans thinking if he picked up a few pounds and got into an OLB position in a 3-4 he would be average to possibly very good. But his physical attributes cannot do enough for how stupid and uneducated he is about the game. I just hope he can hit the books really hard this offseason. If he's here next year this time it will be because he studied hard. If he doesn't, he'll be cut.

Fitzpatrick- could be the ling term starter this team and city has been looking for since Kelly. (this may all be very disapointing if Luck comes out and we miss him because of a few wins)
Johnson- I called it years ago and he's proving it this year, Stevie is the true #1 this team has needs since Moulds left.
Parrish- a much as I've hated him in the past, he could be fantastic in the slot if he can stay healthy.
Nelson, Jones, Martin, Stupar, and hopefully Easley- this group of WRs and TEs could be the strenght of this teams offense for quite a while with Johnson starting and Parrish filling in as a gimmick playmaker.
Wood, Bell, Levitre- will be 3 starters on the OL for this team for years to come. Handgartner might be a really good fill in for both G and C as a backup for years as well.
Williams- the heart and soul of this defense, something to build the D around.
Carrington, Troupe- haven't playe much, but have played enough in recent weeks to give me a look that proves they are better than Kelsey, Stroud, Johnson and McCargo. They might not be superstars but they seem good enough, let's just get them some more help.
Moats- could be our Orakpo, or Suggs. He seems to really want to be great. 2 weeks in a row he has made highlight plays. He could be the Nelson, Johnson, Jones of the defense.
McKelvin- ha had a solid year, still a little underachieving from where he was drafted, but in recent weeks he's showing he can be a shut down corner.
Florance- showing he can start if needed.
All in all, I'm fairly pleased with this year actually. Coming into the season I had high hopes and was quickly shot down. But the way this team has played in the 2nd half of the season, fighting thier way back into games, and the changes the coaching staff has made to get them in those positions.
I feel Gailey has more of an idea how to coach and more faith in his ability to find talent than our previous regime did. I think this year will be our last losing record for a few years thanks to this.
We need a RT, ILB, OLB, CB, and backup to the same positions as well as inside OL, and a real TE threat and we could be much better. Give me a quality OLB/ILB a d RT in FA and the rest in the draft with young and upcoming players and we have a pretty young team that can fight back when thier down and hold a lead on defense.

I just think this week could be a huge step toward finding out if Wood will be our starting C next season and if they think Wang is something special. There was lots of talk about him coming out that he could be a huge suprise within a few years. If things go well for the rest of the year we might have 4 of our starters locked in.
-
Well, I'm gonna be a little crazy and say I'm excited to see the OL this week against Cleveland. The Browns have 2 huge monsters at DT with one of them being a 3 time ProBowler (Rodgers). I'm very excited to see Wood in the Center spot and some Wang in at RG a little. If anyone else here is like me, you have actually been a little suprised and maybe a little pleases with the play of SOME of our OL this year. Bell seems to be playing decent and getting a hold on the position a little more, Levitre has held his own at LG, Hangartner has played decent at C, and Wood has been really good at RG. The RT position is a def need for us in the offseason, however with the exception of RT I'd be ok with going another year with what we have. Give these guys more time together to gel and I think were alright.
This week may mark the beginning if some changes that I can't wait to see. Wood stepping in at C, and Wang playing at RG. With all else the same, I think you might see this line starting next season, and I think this Sunday will be the spark for it all. Can't wait to see these guys play.
2011 OL
LT- Bell
LG- Levitre
C- Wood/Handgartner
RG- Wang/Handgartner
RT- FA/Draft choice from round 1-3

At about game 4 this year I started a topic of potential pro bowlers. I'd like to point that Fitz, Johnson, and Williams were all on my list and most ppl on this board thought I was high on peyote at the time. The year ain't over, there will be some suprises, I'm just putting it out there.

I can't watch the clip because my smartphone wldoesnt have the most recent updates, but I can imagine what was said and the speculations of him and other investor buying and moving an NFL team to LA. What gets me is that Ralph is not dead, and he has stated many, many times that he will NOT sell the team while he is here. So I wouldn't worry about it.
The other thing I think is funny is that people give enough respect to MJ to think he and others can buy an NFL team but nobody thinks Kelly is serious and there could be no way he would be able to afford it. I'm sure MJ has more cake, but Kelly has some serious cash too. And has stated he has more investors to ensure the team stays in Buffalo.

Get a DC who know what he's doin and could coach in the NFL then we will have something! I have to say with the same players we have now and a better, or shall I say real DC we would be much better on D..
After yesterdays game and last weeks game I'm actually pleases with the dc. He made adjustments in both games to shut down the opponents offense. In the last 2 games, we've only given up 6 points in the 2nd half while outscoring our opponents 58-6. That's some great coaching changes at halftime in my book. I'm ok with keeping everyone on the coaching staff and giving them more of the talent they need to run thier schemes.

As much as I love these unis, have we won a single game wearing our throwbacks since 07? Anyone?

I've felt this way about Evans for a long time now. Fact is he's an average #2 and actually fits into the slot reciever very well. Don't get me wrong, he could be Wes Welker like in the slot. But he's never really proved to be a solid 1 or 2 threat. A good season with JP Losman doing nothing but throwing to Evans deep doesn't do anything for me.
Unfortunately no team in this league (exception Buffalo) is dumb enough to give this guy, or pick up his extremely overpriced contract. I'd take a 4th rounder for him if we could get it. The fact is, we might be able to snag a blue chipper LB for that pick. But I don't see anyone giving us that for Evans only because of his contract. He's not worth it. Look at in fantasy football terms, he was probably taken in the 8th+ round in most leagues. That's not what you want out of your #1. Fortu ately for us, I think Johnson CAN be the #1 we are looking for, and Nelson, Jones look great too. Easley could be a real gamer as well. Obviosly they were high on his play and blocking ability. We might actually be set at WR for Yeats to come with this young group of guys. Get what you can for Evans (if anything) or let him play out his contract and be gone.

Steve,
your one of the most liked Buffalo Bills in many, many years. We've all been pulling for you for the last 2 years. Today sucked. You know that. We know that. But we also know your hard work and dedication will be to never let this happen again, and as much as we don't want it to, it most likely will happen again. But were sure you'll pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue to work hard so it never happens again. And that is why we love you on this team. Keep your head up! Your the man. And don't worry about small things and contract crap. Just play the best football you can. It will all come together sooner or later. As Bills fan we can't wait to be relevant again, and hope your a part of it.

I was at the game. It might be the most opponent fans I've ever seen at the Ralph, but it was maybe, AT MOST, 1/3 Steeler fans. Your right though, it looked like much more, probobly because of those stupid towels. I should have grabbed a few as I needed some toilet paper at my house :-)

I'm starting to wonder whether d-line isn't the problem whatsoever in our run defense. Williams is a beast. Carrington looks solid. Dwan Edwards and Stroud have been fairly solid. I think it's our lousy LB's and the scheme that's the problem. Case in point, in OT on a crucial run, one of our LB's (think it was Poz) totally blew his gap assignment, got pulled to the middle, and Mendenhall did a slight cut back through a wide open hole for a 10+ yard gain.
I was just having the same conversation with someone. The line doesn't actually look that bad. The LBs however might be the worst in the league. Your in rough shape when Poz is your best LB. I assume that is why he's not getting any love with a new contract. I have a strong feeling Gailey and Nix will go VERY heavy on LB in FA and the draft. Which I'm 110% ok with btw.
-
I think Pozluszny has more productivity for the last 3 years
This is very saddening. I was having a good day until I read this. Poz an Merriman have probobly played about the same amount of games. Neither can stay healthy.
-
Maybe the Bills brass looked at it as an opportunity. If Merriman is healthy, he plays, and helps this defense. If he doesn't play, maybe he comes in next year and we have one less LB to draft or pick up via FA. If he doesn't play and walks at the end of the year, we SHOULD be entitled to a compensation (or what ever it's called) draft pick.
-
Been a great player for the Bills whose body is starting to fail. It happens to almost every player sooner or later.
Guess it's time to see if there are any CBs worthy of a #3 overall pick!
I'd say try and pick up a decent FA corner or maybe use the 4th we got for Lynch on one. Of course we need depth, but I actually like McKelvin and Florance along with Corner. If we keep McGee in a limited role (so he's not so banged up) and pick up another in FA or draft we MIGHT be ok.
-
Me neither. I imagine that after this ALA-AUB game, Newton will fall some more. I'd also take Wisniewski before Newton. This begs the question of whether I should add Guard to our needs, as Wood would move to OC.
Don't forget to add the 4th rounder from Seattle next time you run it with different positions.
-
Sorry, but to me it's hard to criticize a guy for getting hurt. At the time, McGee was the better player.
Anytime a player is returning kicks or punts, he's going to have a greater chance for injury. It says a lot about a guy who's willing to do that as a starter, because most guys don't want to do it.
The problem is that he was battling nagging injuries for a year or so when we decided to resign him and let JG walk.why is it so hard to realize this guy had injury issues even back then (many of us here in this board even saw that) yet the "professionals" at OBD couldn't see it? We should have traded McGee then, when he had some value (even if for a 4-5th) round pick and resigned Greer. Instead we got an injury prone, over the hill CB and let a younger CB with potential walk for nothing and not compensated for it. It's not hindsight, it's common sense and the Bills org. failed on this one.
-
I think you need to re-simulate since we have Seattles 4th rounder and some other pick
:-)
-
I've hated Whitner since we drafted him until this year. I now truly believe with a better front 7 he could be a better than average safety. I don't think he desrves an overpaid (Chris Kelsey) type contract, but I think he could be somewhere in the middle of the pack as far as safties are concerned.
I think he is having his best year this season FWIW
-
look i like fitz and he is the best we have by a mile however in the NFL like polian and brandt and all the GM's who know their sh-t all say the most important thing on a football team is QB then LT.
want a perfect example. look at what SD did they had brees yet they still went ahead and drafted rivers and instantly started him.want to know why it was because they knew he was a rare talent,or as Nix said a no brain er.
first of all, how do you know that Fitz isn't/couldn't be that QB that GMs die for. He is putting up SICK numbers and is playing well with what everyone thought was a horrible bunch of recievers. He IS the leader in the field on offense and it's clear by how the offense plays around him.
Second, SD drafted Manning actually, not Rivers and only traded for him because Manning whinned like a little baby and said he would not sign or play for them. I'd also like to point out that Brees was not good at all when they made that trade. He was very quickly being considered a bust and only got his chance to become good when Rivers did t sign and showed up to camp too late.
And I'd also like to point out that SD lost out on that deal since Brees is a better, more accurate QB than Rivers will ever be. Don't get me wrong, I love Rivers and his attitude, but the fact is that he might NEVER win a big game and Brees has a SB with NO and could do it again the way they have been playing.
Your points are so far off I want to puke, especially after you just told someone else that they don't know football.

That was awesome. I wish our radio show douchbags were this passionate about the Bills.

I think Promo and Beerball would be great choices. Suprised not to see a few more on the ballat. Where's Weo and Leonidis when you need em?

When was the last time we had a wr catch 12 or 14 td passes? Cause he just might get a few more :-) Stevie is this teams real number 1 reciever we've been looking for since Moulds left. Lee has never looked as good as Stevie (except a few junk years under Losman throwing nothing but bombs to only 1 player)
