  1. The Ralph is the second oldest stadium behind San Diego's old Jack Murphy Stadium, for the Bills to stay in Buffalo they will need a new Stadium, what are the chances of that happening? Not good! The Governator here in Cali just waived some enviormental snags so the stadium looking to be built in the City of Industry can begin, The LA paper targeted six teams of interest to fill this stadium when completed in 2012-2013 Buffalo,Jacksonville, San Diego, Minnesota, Kansas City and San Francisco. I think the first three have merrit, the last were thrown in for conversation. Doesn't the Bills lease run out in 2012? Has anyone heard of the Bills looking top extend the lease? If they do move I assume they would handle it similar to the Browns leave the intellectual property (the Name) in Buffalo and rename the team after the move, this would give us fans some false hope we would get an expansion franchise down the road and that folks will that will never happen.

Actually based on experts the areas sorounding the Great Lakes will once again (in our lifetimes) be very prosperous due to lack of fresh water. Buffalo once was one of the largest cities in the country, and when this happens it will once again.

  2. Really? He made the playoffs and won the SB in his FIRST year there with a team built by someone else...after that, he missed the playoffs, dismantled the team and managed just TWO playoff appearances in 6 years after, none of which his team was even a threat to go far.

He destroyed a perennial SB contending team after winning the SB in his first year there, the very year TB was already the favorite to win it anyway which led to him having a losing season the very next year after the SB win. A point carefully ignored is that he had a HUGE advantage in that SB win as he knew the offense inside and out and they didnt change it. His players have already acknowledged this saying they exactly what Oakland was doing throughout the whole game.

He had only ONE back to back winning seasons, and that was his last 2 years there where he was 9-7...and then last year he missed the playoffs despite leading the division with 4 weeks left by losing all 4 games in a row, including the last game of the season to the lowly Raiders where a win gets him in the playoffs...

Yeah, he was really great in TB.

Not to mention, he jettisoned his best players, the players didnt trust him (which is why he was fired), he mismanages QB's more than we do, cant develop a QB, and has a horrendous draft record with Mr. Allen...

    lmao

Whats funny is that you discredit him for winning the Super Bowl because he inherited the "already favorite" to win but you didnt give him any credit for his competition in that game. It works both ways. If your saying Dungy should get credit for putting that Super Bowl team together then you have to give Gruden credit for putting the Raiders Super Bowl team together. At that point one can argue that Gruden won because he was the better coach.

He would be 100 times better than what we have now. How many Playoff games does Jauron have on his record? Now ask yourself how many Gruden has. The facts are that Gruden has taken multiple teams to multiple playoff games. He was also the QB coach in Green Bay during the Holmgren years. I would say he did pretty well there too.

  3. I have been comparing teams since last week when someone asked which team is most like the bills.

We are the Washington Redskins of the AFC without the bonehead spending... That being said, I haven't posted lately so I'll share my opinion about the season and the future:

    Edwards definately not the guy

    Jauron def fired, parrish cut

Reed, Youboty, and T.O. will not be re-signed

Line will pan out next year... As will Hardy and Nelson

Defense is good, it is the PERFECT compliment to an effective no huddle offense.

No Huddle isn't providing an advantage because of Trent and the line but mainly trent

Byrd is the real deal at FS and Whitner will be back to SS for keeps

Defense can make a seemless transition to a 3-4 next year in needed. Schobel and Maybin (both 250lbs) at OLB and Poz and Mitchell inside??? Stroud is a beast at nose and Williams and Johnson could play LE as well as DT, Kelsey and Denney can play RE in a 3-4

Bottom line: Need a QB rd 1 this draft! This team is talented and if the bills are smart they will add competition to Trent next year and make him earn an extension that I don't think is happening.

How many fans have already kissed this season Goodbye?

I like many of your points.

I dont think the Defense is that good. Poz and Mitchell are both just about average LB's. If you put either of them on many defenses like Baltimore, or NY Giants you would notice they are the worst of the group (proven by Mitchell).

Trent most likely is done, but I would be ok with him staying another year if we got a new coach.

Byrd is the read deal and keeping Whitner at SS would be the best move. Maybe even getting rid of Donte and keeping Wilson or Scott at SS would be smart (depends on what you could get for Whitner).

I like your point about the 3-4 but I think Schobel is too old and slow to play the position at this point in his career. If you had him make that switch 3 years ago I would have been on board. But he will fit for now. Maybin is a perfect fit for an OLB in a 3-4. Stroud is a good fit for DT in that defense. I would personally use Williams and Johnson at the both end positions. That would make for a pretty big line.

Im glad we get to see Fitz this week and most likely next. It will give us an idea if Trent is just really flawed or if he is doing exactly what the coaches want him to. If Fitz comes out and lights it up I have a hard time believing Trent was making the plays the coaches are calling. If Fitz looks like crap it might not mean anything.

If we win the next 2 Ill be optimistic, but realistically they need to win 5 of the next 6 to be in the playoff hunt. They defenately cant lose to the Jets, or Dolphins again. They must win out in the division.

  4. Gotta love the trash-talking after you get beat. Not that he's that far off base or anything, but the next logical question is, "So, you lost to a team that runs a pop-warner offense, what does that say about your play and the rest of the defense?" These ego-manical asses have to prop themselves up when they get embarassed instead of just taking it as a learning experience or something to build off of.

Its not like they lost because our offense lit them up. They lost because Sanchez sucked worse than Trent and Fitz, and we got lucky on defense. They destroyed our offense, they did our defense too actually. If they would have just continued to run the ball and not throw all their interceptions they would have won most likely.

  5. The truth really hurts sometimes. Its a shame that we are so bad that even reporters that support us on many occasions feel the need to point out how bad we are. Its play like this and articles that point it out that might finally reach key people like Brandon or Wilson and maybe we will be free of this crap that we must watch every Sunday. I say must because watching the Bills is not an option for me or most of us for that matter. We watch because we are hooked and love the team. That doesnt mean we have to like them right now.

  6. Its Toronto or a different location in WNY once they get a new stadium.

Although, if SD moves to LA, what happens to Jacksonville?

    Agreed.

I think the Jags and Rams have a much higher possibility of moving than the Bills. The Jags have blacked out their entire season. Thats a joke. They should and probably will be the rist team to move. They can go to Toronto and we can switch the divisions around a little bit to have a Great Lakes Division. Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Toronto

  7. I just don't believe in garbage. This whole team needs to change. Period. So go ahead, enlighten me, and skew these stats of Fitz's last 4 games.....skew them. This outta be good. Here they are.....so tell me, how are they skewed? I liked the way Fitz actually tried to play real football and use his weapons last week, but he is still terrible at it. Trent is just flat out scared to play daringly. However, to think that Fitz is some kind of answer or a way to get this team straight, people are all on some kind of crack. So, how are these awful stats skewed?

    vs. (8-8) Washington 16-29-209, 1TD

at (4-12) Cleveland 5-9-55, 1 TD (Played the full game)

    vs.(2-14) KC 18-30-129

    vs. (3-3) NY 10-25-116, 1 TD, 1INT

How are those skewed? He's just as bad, if not worse. This guy is also a bum. This team is a mess. Period. Top to bottom, side to side, all the way around. I personally would rather it stays negative, and hopefully this org gets cleaned up at the end of the year. It worked when the fans finally revolted against TD, maybe it will work now.

Cant argue with those stats. They sucked. Just saying they arent much better than Trents at the end of last year, or the beginning of this year. Trent hasnt regresses at this point. He was never good. Im not saying Fitz is better but we have given Trent enough time to figure it out and he hasnt shown anything. Im even ready to see what Hamden has at this point. I want to know if we need a QB during the offseason this year. Lets just see what they have.

  8. Did you stop and think why Fitz-mania 2009 took a tour stop at OBD? Maybe it's because we haven't had a quarterback in 13 years.

Maybe, we all realize that this dude isn't the answer, but he has a four game win streak, and its not exactly challenging to skew his stats versus Trent's to make him appear amazing. I'm pretty sure that no one honestly is happy Fitzpatrick is starting, we're all just trying to stay positive about this whole thing. You should try it.

Agreed, Better option than Trance Checkwards at this point.

  9. I'm not saying a word about Trent. I just can't believe that Fitz mania has taken over everyone on this board, when he's basically the same kind of crap we've had here for the last 5-7 years.

This team is still awful and needs a complete overhaul. Somehow, no one seemed to notice the only reason we won the game Sunday was because of Mark Sanchez. Just sayin.

I agree with that point about Sanchez. Anyone that says we could be 4-2 we could just as easily be 1-5. The jets lost that game, we didnt win it. My point is that Trent sucks. Fitz wasnt great by any stretch, but maybe, just maybe he can open things up a little bit. At the very least we will know for sure if its Trent that really sucks, or if everyone is just sticking with the plays the coaching staff is calling. If Fitz comes in and throws for 300yrds why would we believe that its luck? No one on the Bills have done it in over 40 games. Im just about done believing in Trent and if Fitz can actually get the ball to his receivers it will cement my decision about Checkwards.

  10. OK, let's break down his last three starts last season. LOL.

    vs. (8-8) Washington 16-29-209, 1TD

at (4-12) Cleveland 5-9-55, 1 TD (Played the full game)

    vs.(2-14) KC 18-30-129

Yeah, boy, he really lit things up during that three game win streak against terrible teams!

The only difference between those stats and Trents stats this year is that Fitz won those 3 games, and Trent has lost his last 3. Just saying.

  11. he's made horrible decisions in the past with regards to fair-catches vs letting it bounce. his performance this year has been down right disgusting. i dont blame the team for not trusting him. he's done far more damage than good this year.

    Agreed.

His decisions on when to field a punt and when not to is horrible and almost obvious at times hes trying to increase his return numbers. It just so happens that even when he decides to handle a return, a lot of the time he makes more bad decisions and gets tackled for a loss. Fans that seem to love him so much just dont get that he only had 1 return for a TD last season. I dont see how thats exciting at all. Lots of teams have returns for TD's during the season. He is nothing more than any other returner in the league. Except many other returners can actually play their skill position.

  12. The defensive line.

We already know how good Marcus Stroud is, but Kyle Williams has looked exceptional. Aaron Schobel coming back from missing most of last season was a huge concern, but he's played great. Granted he may only have a couple sacks, but he's applying pressure and getting tackles. Surprisingly, I must give due credit to Chris Kelsay. He's playing the best I've ever seen him play. He's getting real pressure, he's gotten a few sacks and he's done a good job against the run.

Well I agree with you about Schobel and Kelsey's play, Im not sure I can feel right about saying anyone is playing well against the run.

  13. Trent Edwards not progressing at all (might actually look worse)

Trent Edwards not getting the ball to his $12million wide receivers

The coaching staff was very, very wrong about the LT and RT positions

The coaching staff still cant put their team in a position to win a game (possible exception with NE but then why didnt someone tell McKelvin not to run the kick back, or to make sure he held onto the ball)

Special Teams is a joke, Bobby Aprill is showing that he is more about having good players than the other way around

Injuries again have destroyed this team

The lack of depth at linebackers is a joke

Poz and Mitchell are a joke

We should have kept Greer and let McGee walk

We should have signed Peters for any amount of money he was asking for, then tipped him 64 Philly CheeseSteaks to make him happy

    The run defense

    Marshawn Lynch

    Roscoe Parrish

Not making room on the roster for Stevie Johnson, or James Hardy yet

Ralph Wilson for not firing Dick Jauron by now

Ralph Wilson expecting him not to fire Jauron at all this season

The win against the Jets and the injury to Trent might have actually bought Dick another year with winning a few (what we thought to be) unwinnable games while using the injuries as an excuse

Myself for falling for their crap again

In the end its not all like walking on razor sharp shards of broken glass:

The secondary looks great, lets just hope that Byrd continues to start and learn

The interior of the OL is leaps and bounds better, with a decent set of T's they could be monsterous

Schobel isnt exactly back to his pro-bowl form but hes playing pretty well

Kelsey isnt making me want to vomit on myself

Ellison is actually playing decent, I would be ok with him being my 3rd LB with a decent group around him

Fred Jackson has shown that he can be a good back. Can we please just keep him in and get rid of Lynch?

The TE's havent been too bad

If they dont turn it around completely they just might actually fire Juaron

  14. And who would that be?

I think we're pretty good at tight end finally. I really like this Nelson (ha-ha) kid. Notice how they love to show that highlight of him diving for the TD catch against the Patsies* in week 1? Fine and Schouman have looked pretty solid too. Last couple of years I'd say you're right. But now, finally, we seem to be in good shape at tight end.

I think were good at TE as well. Not that im a huge fan of Fine or Schouman. Im just optimistic that Nelson can get it done for the future. He seems like hes gonna be good. The Derek's will work just fine as backup's to Nelson going forward.

  15. According to Bills Daily Front Office Salary Cap page Roscoe makes 2.45 million with a .55 million bonus this year for a total of 3 million.

I just did the math, if he touches the ball even as much as last year he is making $61,224.48 every time he touches the ball. A little reduculous for a punt return man.

  16. maybe if he was as smart as Welker and knew how to run patterns and get open, maybe we could have. I have never understood the comparison to Welker.

OMG, people make me sick with this comparison.

Welker and Roscoe are both 5'9" while Welker is 15lbs heavier at 185lbs than Roscoe at 170.

The speed isnt that much different. Roscoe runs a 4.44 40time and Wes runs a 4.60 40time. But if anyone has seen the 2 play its obvious that Welker is football fast, much stronger, better route runner, better hands, defenately smarter.

Anyone else that thinks Roscoe has not been utilized to his fullest potential needs to watch him play when he does get on the field as a WR. He cant get off the LOS, he cant work against bump coverage, gets pushed around on the field by even small corners, if he catches the ball he instantly gets tackled because he is so small. Punts is where he belongs. he's not even that fast top end, hes elusive and thats about it. As bad as they are and even worse as everyone else makes them out to be, the coaching staff has given Roscoe the opportunity to play and he hasnt proved it. What happened last year or 2 years ago when Reed went out and Roscoe was playing 2nd WR. He did nothing. I hope we cut him and he gets picked up by a good team just so he can show everyone that he is just a punt returner and cant hack it at WR even on a good team.

  17. Ok. I'll revise to reflect a previous comment I made. Odds are 4:1 against staying. I think their time in WNY is short, but I'll give them a 25% chance of staying as a concession to the possibility that a rabbit will be pulled.

Yes, moving the team will cost. However, the overriding concern for any new owner in the area will be...

How do I make money on this investment without a solid (and large) corporate base to fill all of my luxury boxes (and pay much more than they are now under RW) and fans willing to pony up almost double what they pay now for a single game ticket?

I just dont see it happening. Between the way the State of NY operates and the depressed economy in the region, I cant see anyone taking the risk without a plan to leave. People are screaming now about how bad the team is. Yet, our ticket prices are lowest in the league. That's why the stadium is full. What happens when they double ticket prices and the team still sucks? Attendance will suffer and the new owner will want out at any cost. Just my opinions. I was born the year they entered the AFL and watched games in the Rockpile. Dont want to see them go, but the cards are stacked against them.

I understand and respect your opinion. I just feel that with the state of the economy there arent many people willing to pony up $2+Billion to get a team. You would have to do some major work in the city and would cost the city/state a ton of money (with states like CA severely in debt), I just dont see that happening just to get their hands on an NFL franchise that as I pointed out before has has major issues being successful in Southern California. It has about the same % of someone actually ponying up $1-1.5Billion to stay here in Buffalo and there is no way to prove it based on what cities have stated they want a team. I wanted a fighter jet for Christamas one year but never got it. San Antonio may be a different story all together. Im not touching that one right now because I dont know enough about it. In the end you still have to convince the rest of the NFL(the owners might not be a problem), Senate, the city purchasing the new team, and the city of Buffalo that it would be in everyone's best interest. I strongly feel that players like Goodell and Schumer along with every Buffalo Fan by the busload would fight like hell to keep the team here.

IMO as a season ticket holder I would be happy to pay double what I pay now to go to games(shhhh, dont tell Ralph), but I dont think it would be that much of an increase. Yes we are the cheapest game in the league to go see but I think a raise to $75-$80 from the $50 I pay would be more like it. Even if it was double I dont think you would find many that have issues with it as long as a competitive game was put on the field every week. A new owner/ownership group would most likely do that.

Just my opinion but there are people with money/power either in this town, or tied to this town that might actually want them to stay.

  18. I really hope I'm wrong about this, but does anyone else get the feeling (SERIOUS replies only, please!), that we as Bills fans are witnessing the slow death of our beloved franchise? I can only hope not, but after 9 seasons without a playoff berth, countless desparate efforts to bring life to a dying, broke, yet proud franchise (i.e.: Drew Bledsoe, Takeo Spikes, and recently Terrell Owens), its seems, to me, that this is exactly what is transpiring.

Throw in one (for now) "home" game in Toronto per year, an aging owner, and declining purchases in ticket sales, and this only looks even more bleak. I know we are all frustrated with the state of the Bills right now, but think about what Sundays will be like if in fact this team does move. Speaking from a personal standpoint, I don't know if I could pull for another franchise after all these years. I've heard some Bills fans say they'd start rooting for the Jets, locally. But after rooting against a division rival for so long (depending on how long you've been a fan), could you really bring yourself to do that?

I must say I would remain an NFL fan, I don't know if I could cheer for the Bills if they moved to Toronto. Maybe if they stayed with the same nickname, but if they changed it, definitely not!

In closing, as much as it stings like hell right now, givin the state of my beloved franchise, I hereby state that for the remainder of the season (one that looks pathetically bleak right now), I will continue to support this team, All REAL Bills fans should, thats just my opinion. I've been made fun of, picked on, and heckled for supporting this team, but for 11 more weeks of the NFL season, and hopefully seasons still to come, I'll continue to say it...........................................................GO BILLS!

Im one of the season ticket holders that has bought tickets to this dying franchise the past few years. Im pretty sure the last 2 years have sold the 3rd, and 4th highest ticket sales in the history of the franchise. Thats a lot however you swing it. The other pionts I'm not going to comment on though.

  19. Excluding Trump, these guys are not going to invest almost 30% of their total wealth in the Bills. Also, how much of this total wealth is in ready cash? I'm sure it's far below the totals you quote. Keep digging, I'm sure you'll add Warren Buffet or Bill Gates to the list.

Since Warren Buffet actually does have ties to Buffalo with Geico and the Buffalo News I wouldnt think he would be interested but any good businessman can find ways to make money.

Im not sure why anyone would bring up Gates other than the fact that he is the wealthiest man on the planet. To my knowledge he has no ties to Buffalo.
