  1. only 1 Buffalo Bill made the list: DT Kyle Williams, Buffalo Bills A three-time Pro Bowler, Williams—not to be confused with Chiefs’ receiver Kyle Williams—had another stellar year in Buffalo. He finished the season with a career-high 10-1/2 sacks to go along with 17 quarterback hits and 39 quarterback hurries. In short, he was a terror. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2014-01-26/all-pro-team-2013-manning-sherman-kuechly-mccoy-quinn/slide/1 interesting that 4 Cleveland Browns made the list for Pettine's new team.
  2. YES, money would have been better spent on Byrd instead of Anderson. NO, on the value question. (and this is the Parker strategy than makes Byrd a Tyrd. YES, the bills should stick to their guns and offer what they think he deserves, irregardless if Tyrd waits again until 100% healthy and thereby putting the bills in a position to get less value. Byrd should say, HELL NO i'm not happy about not signing a long term deal. but $6.9 and $8.3 mil is a heck of a lot of money and i'm going to go out and earn it.
  3. Byrd has earned the right to "ask" for #1 money for all kind of reasons. having said that he is NOT the best safety in the league and in my opinion not even Top 5 (for $9-10 million I would rather have Earl Thomas, Eric Berry, TJ Ward, Devin McCourty , a host of names for half that and a whole bunch of cornerbacks I could convert to free safety). Byrd is probably the slowest free safety in the entire league. he has bad feet and a degenerative hip injury. I saw Nigel Bradham pass byrd while both were chasing down the TB rb on that 80 yard scamper. as far as these one year franchise tags. again in my opinion , Parker is seeking a $9 mil/5 yr , $45 mil deal with $27 mil(3 years) Guaranteed. assuming that is true, the $15 mil in two years is less than $18 mil he would have earned if signed early last year. I think BOTH sides played their positions properly in this whole mess. and I think they are both going to do the exact same thing this year.
  4. absolutely......you just may not like what we get back.
  5. LA will eventually get a team. that is a virtual certainty. Forbes says the Bills are valued at $870 million. the bills in L.A. would DOUBLE that value to $1.7 BILLION. that $400 million penalty for the bills to leave is just a speed bump.
  6. Eugene Parkers "MO" will be to only accept a contract that makes Byrd the Highest Paid Safety in the NFL ahead of picking a winning team. the bills will offer Byrd a contract. but not #1 money. Parker will turn it down. the bills will franchise tag him again. Byrd will not report to OTA's and mini camp. Parker and Byrd will do EXACTLY what they did last year. they will not flinch. if anyone flinches it will be the bills, by trading him.
  7. what has been reported by Adam Benini is that the bills offered Top 4-5 money (that is vague and makes no mention of goldson or guaranteed money). all other stories on the subject are quoting Adam Benini. Adam BenigniVerified account‏@AdamBenigni Source: #Bills Byrd demanding to be highest paid safety in NFL. Told Bills were willing to offer top 4-5 money. #Impasse @wgrz
  8. The Pro Football Writers of America, the official voice of pro football writers fighting and promoting for access to NFL personnel to best serve the public, is extremely disappointed in the lack of meaningful access to Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch at the Super Bowl XLVIII media day on Tuesday, the PFWA said in a statement issued by president D. Orlando Ledbetter. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/29/pfwa-extremely-disappointed-by-lynchs-conduct-at-media-day/ Players are required to participate and he participated, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT by email on Tuesday night. We will continue to monitor the situation. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/28/nfl-satisfied-with-lynchs-participation-in-media-day/

  10. it's been widely reported the Bills did offer "goldson" money (top 4-5). Byrd is holding out for #1 money. and no I do not have sworn testimony from the bills or Eugene Parker.
  11. who could forget... Marshawn Lynch GIMME 20 DOLLARS
  12. his agent made it clear they were "open" to a trade.....because they didn't want anyone to think they "wanted" a trade.
  13. TJ Ward http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000289608/article/earl-thomas-jairus-byrd-top-list-of-nfls-best-safeties
  14. go to you tube and plug in this search "skittles banned commercial cat" by Saige Kelly 3,650,122 hits i'd put the link in direct, but......it's PG-13
  15. NOT a violation...in fact, this showing your bills colors behavior is encouraged.
  16. Laughable.....all he said was we aren't ruling out anything......so anyone can take any meaning they want. here's what I heard.....the Bills are tagging Byrd and there will be no significant changes to the Toronto series.
  17. Hardy at $14 mil is money better spent than Tyrd at $10 mil
  18. did Schwartz omit Byrd on purpose ? heard him mention Mario, kyle, dareus, gilmore & mckelvin.
  19. Marrone & Schwartz on WGR550 live now...
  20. #1- goodell wanted to cancel the Pro Bowl. #2- the players really wanted to keep it and went so far as to suggest rule changes etc... #3- goodell put it on the players to prove they wanted it by actually playing hard.
  21. Goodell salutes players for Pro Bowl improvements: 'You have to admit it was very competitive' Goodell told ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning. 'Exciting. Fun. I think the players played much harder.' Goodell liked the changes, as suggested by NFLPA president Domonique Foxworth. 'I believe it was a very, very positive step,' Goodell said. 'I salute the players.' http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/27/goodell-salutes-players-for-pro-bowl-improvements/
  22. not that it matters, but there are a lot of folks who get paid differently from one day to the next depending if they are considered skilled or unskilled. there are no league rules that say you have to have a certain amount of WR's or TE's. you just can't exceed the maximum roster limit. you could have 10 TE's and zero WR's if you wanted. all these guys are over paid......but none of that matters either. I have no idea what you do, but if you could get 50,000 folks to pay $100 to watch you do it, then you could make crazy money too.
  23. when it comes to the Franchise Tag value...it's crystal clear. and it doesn't matter where other tight ends lined up or what he and others call his position ....it only matters where jimmy graham lined up for purposes of jimmy graham's franchise tag value. he is a TE, but if they Tag him and can't come to a long term agreement....he will be paid as a WR if he lined up outside more than he did next to a OT.
  24. it's not muddy at all....the CBA definition is the ONLY one that matters. if he was lined up right next to an OT he is a TE. if he was lined up wide or in the slot he's a WR.
  25. The analysis should be simple. Under Article 9, Section 2 of the CBA, [T]he tender will apply to the position in which the player participated in the most plays. Thus, if Graham was lined up wide or in the slot more times than he was lined up as a tight end, he's a receiver. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/13/franchise-tag-fight-looming-between-saints-and-graham/
