What time and station is the Pro Bowl on?
papazoid replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is the first Pro Bowl I watched in over 5 years. I thought is was very entertaining and worth keeping if played like that. I especially enjoyed some big hits by guys from the same regular season teams. one of the KC's LB's, I think it was Derrick Johnson just lit up Jamaal Charles. Cleveland Browns safety TJ Ward sent WR Josh Gordon flipping in the air. JJ Watt playing next to Super Mario, Ndamakingkong Suh and Greg Hardy were UNBLOCKABLE. the DB's were all playing man to man. between the two teams there were 9 sacks and 6 interceptions....the defense got the message. -

WHEN WAS THE LAST PRO BOWL HEADLINE: "Defense ruled the day", which is not something we've seen out of recent Pro Bowls. The defensive lines dominated from the start. Drew Brees was hit twice on the first drive, including a blindside sack from Gerald McCoy. On the other side, Newton was sacked four times in the second quarter alone; obviously Ron Rivera didn't ask his D-linemen to go easy on his franchise quarterback. The teams combined for nine sacks. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000318206/article/team-rice-defeats-team-sanders-in-nfl-pro-bowl NFLPA president: Roger Goodell was close to canceling Pro Bowl The Pro Bowl is Sunday night, but commissioner Roger Goodell was considering doing away with the game, according NFL Players Association president Domonique Foxworth. Roger was very serious about potentially canceling the Pro Bowl, because apparently it's very expensive and isn't of a ton of value to them, Foxworth told USA Today this week. To be honest with you, I was completely comfortable with eliminating it until I talked to the players, and they said they loved it and they want to be there. http://tracking.si.c...bowl/?eref=sihp -

that's what makes the NFL so interesting....because I believe just the opposite....skill comes last for first round picks. you draft QB's and front 7's....look at the recent first round picks of the final four: Seattle - DE, OT, S, OT, LB, DE, CB, C, DT (78%) Denver - DT, LB, QB, WR, DE, RB, OT, DE, QB, LB, OT (82%) New England - DE, DE, OT, CB, LB, S, RB, OG, TE, DT, DT, TE, DT, LB, C (80%) San Fran - FS, WR, LB, G, OT, WR, DT, OT, LB, LB, TE, QB (75%) Buffalo - QB, CB, DT, RB, C, DE, DB, RB, DT, S (50%)

Bills hire Jim Schwartz DC, Todd Downing QB coach
papazoid replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is a good hire. I think Marrone needed someone who could completely handle the defensive side of the ball so he could continue to favor the offensive side. -

Losing Pettine may not be all that bad for Bills
papazoid replied to Ludwig van's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there is no mistaking Pettine's attacking style vs wanny's passive read and react. in 2012 the bills under wanny blitzed a league low 15% of the time on pass plays. in 2013 the bills under pettine blitzed 40% of the time on pass plays. -
Richard Sherman post game -- 'nuff said!

Richard Sherman fined $7,875 for taunting and unsportsmanlike conduct: After the play, Sherman left his celebrating teammates, approached Crabtree and drew a flag for taunting. Sherman, as captured by NFL Films, stuck out his hand and said 'helluva game, helluva game' to Crabtree, who responded by shoving Sherman in the facemask. Crabtree was not fined. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/24/richard-sherman-fined-7875-for-taunting-and-unsportsmanlike-conduct/ -
Cordy Glenn is a stud and rising star in the league. his day will come.

your always letting facts get in the way of a good story..... ok,ok, looking at it your way....we were 2-3 without byrd and 2-3 when both EJ & Byrd played in same game (no difference in Wins Over Replacement). Parker has not failed Byrd....as I have pointed out in other threads, Parker's clients ALWAYS WIN. absent a career ending injury, Byrd will do just fine in the end, maybe better. for the record, I predict history will repeat itself exactly like last year. bills will make a top 4-5 offer. Byrd will reject it. bills will tag him. byrd will not sign tender and skip OTA's and minicamp. byrd will miss a few regular season games until he is 100% healthy. Parker and Byrd will NOT flinch. the bills might, by trading him before the deadline. -

Sherman knew he was wired for sound......he went way out of his way to show crabtree up with that false nice game crap. did the press go easy on Richie Incognito, Riley Cooper and Ben Rothlisberger ? the press blows out of proportion all these bad boy stories without regard to race. -

the Bills announced days ago they had a plan in place if Pettine leaves. that means it is highly likely that person is already on the staff. DB Coach Donnie Henderson is that guy. Henderson was with Marrone at Syracuse. think he would more inclined to stay with Marrone then follow Pettine. he has been a DC for the JETS & Lions previously. if they are looking outside the organization at other candidates it's just to fend off PR criticism. otherwise, if your "plan already in place" was to start looking once pettine leaves, that's horse manure. it's going to be Donnie Henderson.

Jay Z could have a role in Suh's representation The source also tells PFT that Suh has been spotted at multiple Jay Z concerts in recent weeks. At a December concert in Nebraska, Jay Z wore a black Nebraska jersey with Suh's Cornhusker No. 93 and Carter on the back. Jay Z also gave Suh what the kids (and some of the old people like me) call a shout out from the stage in Detroit on January 10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/23/jay-z-could-have-a-role-in-suhs-representation/ -
