  1. the Bills announced days ago they had a plan in place if Pettine leaves. that means it is highly likely that person is already on the staff. DB Coach Donnie Henderson is that guy.
  2. The Lions and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh are talking about a contract extension that could make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. They’ll now have to take a break from the process. Per multiple league sources, Suh has fired his agents, Eugene Parker and Roosevelt Barnes. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/23/with-blockbuster-deal-looming-suh-fires-agents/
  3. I say hogwash...Littman probably did NOT set the spending parameters. that was done by ralph and now russ. Littman counts the beans two ways. #1- the NFL Salary Cap (for each and every player, for current & future years). #2- the Bills cash flow (the so called internal "cash to cap") how much cash is available to use on upfront bonus money. lets say the league salary cap is $125 mil. Ralph or Russ may say to the GM & Littman you can spend to $120, we will save some room for injury replacements.
  4. silver lining.....losing Pettine should improve our draft spot in 2015 when it will be painfully obvious we still need a QB.
  5. anything said has been previously said earlier in this thread.....
  6. Donnie Henderson came with Marrone from Syracuse. he has previously been a DC for the jets & lions.
  7. Donnie Henderson came with Marrone from Syracuse. he has previously been a DC for the jets & lions.
  8. the bills said they have a plan..... I say it's DB Coach Donnie Henderson.
  9. exactly $24 mil under the cap, the 4th & 26th picks in upcoming draft. they will be able to get a QB.
  10. just based on how he coached up Leodis McKelvin makes him deserving of the job.
  11. So my question is... Does Doug Whaley have the permission from his superiors (Russ Brandon, Jim Overdorf, Ralph Wilson, etc.) to spend up to the maximum of the salary cap? Whaley, 40, says he doesn't spend much time thinking about his added power. The major difference is I'm the final one with the say now, Whaley said after watching the South teams practice. Whaley said the Bills should have enough salary cap space to do what we need to do to get better. Whaley said he has a good grasp of the salary cap, which is managed by Jim Overdorf, Bills senior vice president of football operations. Overdorf handles contract negotiations, but Whaley said he has relationships with the agents with whom the Bills deal. I know what I need to know, Whaley said regarding the cap, and anything thats really intricate, thats when we lean on J.O. What we like to do is he gives us a spreadsheet of where we are cap-wise, what we can spend, what everybodys cap number is, potential accelerations, potential escalators. So you've got to be cognizant of all that information, because you have to put value on our free agents and free agents we may be looking to sign. Some cap chiefs report to the GM. Overdorf reports to team president Russ Brandon. Whaley said he is completely comfortable with the chain of command because the three of them work so closely together. Absolutely, because we have one singular focus, to win, Whaley said. No one has a hidden agenda in that building. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/bills-gm-begins-first-full-offseason-as-the-man-20140121
  12. all the coaches, GM's and seniors are together in Mobile, AL for the Senior bowl.
  13. Buddy is an outstanding talent evaluator. his opinion can only be helpful to Whaley.
  14. The Browns had an interview to do on Wednesday before getting back to Pettine. Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports that the team has already conducted that interview with Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, which is the only other interview scheduled at the moment. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/22/mike-pettine-expects-to-hear-from-browns-by-the-end-of-the-day/
  15. we had a 9-7 defense with a 3-13 offense.
  16. Seattle's Dan Quinn is also a FIRST YEAR defensive coordinator.
  17. everyone here is telling the truth except Bobby Bethard. I am convinced that ryan leaf preferred san diego over indy. I am convinced lee Steinberg concocted the plan to stiff the Jim Mora meeting and that they tipped off Bobby Bethard (who can't seem to remember). I also belive Bill Polian scoffing at the idea that they were or could be manipulated. Eli Manning, John Elway and others have attempted to manipulate the draft process based on personal preferences.....it happens.
  18. by any measure Kiko had a great year.....steal of the entire draft.....but NOT deserving of Pro Bowl.

  20. this is neither good or bad. I assume ALL teams have plans for "value" signings. wether you go after big names or value signings....you need to "hit" on them. value signings like that of Manny Lawson, Alan Branch and Dan Carpenter were successes. his trade for hughes was a success.
  21. $24 mil in Cap space, two 1st round picks, if Cleveland offers the job for 4-5 years GUARANTEED....you take it !!
  22. adjusts well to passes thrown behind him.....EJ needs him.
