As long as the Bills coaching staff decides to play him.

We've got a history of not letting rookies outshine old veterans.

I agree with you.  McKenzie had a bad game against the Chiefs and Shakir keeps making plays.  I don't think the coaches can ignore it.  The Bills need a reliable 3rd WR.  McKenzie flashes at times but can he be that guy?  I dunno.  Perhaps Shakir gets more snaps and they share that role.  Go with the hot hand so to speak.

He’s done it once already and almost did last year. The path to the SB in the NFC couldn’t be drawn up easier. Hurts, Cousins, Dak, washed Rodgers, 45 year old Brady. Which of that pile of crap are you picking to beat them?

They would most likely have to play the Eagles in Philly.  So I'll take the Eagles.  They play the Chiefs and Rams next.  We'll see what happens.

This is a lazy, bad take. As soon as lance got hurt, I got on here and said the 49ers are going to the SB and  I bet the 49ers to win the SB. Jimmy isn’t a great qb but he’s the best person to run the Shanahan offense. Yes I think the bills are better but there’s no value in betting them to win the SB. I got the Niners at +2000 which was a stupid steal considering how awful the NFC is. Unless you trust Hurts to play well against that 49ers D, which I certainly don’t. Face it, it’s either us or KC against SF at this point unless Jimmy gets hurt too which he might. At least CMC didn’t go to KC but we will see him in February.

The Niners were trying to dump Jimmy G this past off season.  He's a turnover machine.  They have a good roster but their QB spot is a big question mark.  The NFC is down this year no doubt but the Niners are 3 games behind the Eagles for #1 seed.  You're counting on Jimmy G to win 3 playoff games just to reach the Super Bowl.

Shakir is taller and heavier, just as fast as McKenzie [4.43 vs. 4.42], has a much higher high point [Height [4.5in] + vertical [2.5in] is 7 inches higher].

McDirty is quicker in tight spots, but had two tight spots [backward lateral and end zone] vs. KC where he didn't catch the ball.

I think Shakir is going to get more opportunities going forward.

  6. Panthers currently only have 4 draft picks next year - 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th.  They need a QB bad.  I think they would want to unload CMC for picks and/or young player on rookie deal.  It's still early.  Deadline is 11/1.  If Beane really wants him, he'll make it happen.  CMC has 3 years left after the season.

I do think the Bills have a plan of going IOL early and often in the 2023 draft. For whatever reason we just seem to not be able to get it right the way we have been other position groups.

Ive been wanting the Bills to draft an IOL the last 2 drafts so I hope you're right.  Hopefully a C/G who can likely start as a rookie.  I think they'll bring back Boettger and possibly Hart.

Are we assuming that OBJ will be cheaper than Davis???

Not at all.  I was pointing out that Davis is under contract next year.  So he's cheaper than OBJ next year but after that he'll be expensive along with OBJ.  I think the prudent move is to draft a WR next draft.  Preferably high in the draft - 1st or 2nd round.

I had this shower thought the other day.  What if Gabe Davis becomes too expensive to re-sign and we sign OBJ in a few weeks?

    Next year:

    Diggs #1

    OBJ #2

    Shakir/McKenzie slot

Draft a boundary WR in the 1st or 2nd.

**Okay it's now time to stop thinking about me in the shower**

Davis is under contract next season but an extension could prove costly.

We gave up one first round pick for Bledsoe and he had a couple good seasons in Buffalo before he hit the wall.  The Broncos literally mortgaged their future for a guy who hit the wall a year ago.

And they gave him a 5 yr extension before playing a single game.

I have a friend who is a Broncos fan who swore up and down that all they needed was a qb.

While that was/is true, Denver fans also highly overrated their skill position players. Guys like Jeudy, Hamler, etc al are just names. The only guy who is actually a stud, Javonte Williams, is out for the season.

WR Courtland Sutton is pretty darn good.  Denver's offense looks awful.  I think that was a popular opinion about the Broncos I.e. just needed a QB.

Yep.  For all those that need a reminder of the trade.

Traded • Russell Wilson • 2022 fourth round pick (#116-Eyioma Uwazurike) to Broncos for • Drew Lock • Noah Fant • Shelby Harris • 2022 first round pick (#9-Charles Cross) • 2022 second round pick (#40-Boye Mafe) • 2022 fifth round pick (#145-Darian Kinnard) • 2023 first round pick (?-?) • 2023 second round pick (?-?) on 2022-03-16

PLUS:  A 5-year Russell Wilson extension for $242M that ends in 2029 when Wilson turns 41 and becomes an UFA.

Wilson has a dead cap of $107M next year.

Just when I thought I fully appreciated having Josh Allen as our QB, my appreciation goes up a little more.

It's not his "material".  He calls it as it is; when we were got garbage for 2 decades, he said so.  So did lots of us.

Now are are one of the better run teams in the league, are almost elite with analytics, and have as good a QB as anyone in the league.  It's a different world now with the team so commentary about that team is in a different world too.

I find Mike to be extremely flexible with the organization these days; it's hard to hear him say something negative.

My theory is that he doesn't want to end up as another Jerry Sullivan; hated by the kool aid drinking fanbase to the point where his employer decided it made better financial sense to let him go.

I genuinely believe Schopp realized he needed to change; maybe his superiors at the station forced him to see it this way.  I don't know.

I think you know what I meant about Schopp.  Perhaps "material" isn't the correct term but his views of the Bills were rather negative for a long time.  I'm not defending the Bills.  They were a badly run organization for quite some time.  Schopp is a smart guy and rather articulate.
