And what are Dane and Micah's injuries? Sounds like they are being perhaps overly cautious. A "stinger" is not an injury that would have kept anyone out for more than a few plays let alone the whole game
Milano had the stinger. He's been practicing. Neck injuries to Hyde and Jackson.
-
McD knows that Hyde and Jackson aren't playing on Sunday. He's holding Poyer out of practice as an abundance of caution. He saw the Ravens tape and is trying to avoid miscommunication in the secondary. Just a hunch.

We've had a lot of success by taking away Tua's first read.
Not opposed to the idea of running some 3-2-5 looksI want 11 guys out there

Nah…
Hyde slowed down and didn’t run through the guy.
His momentum carried him. He didn’t want to stop abruptly and tear something.
Nah. It wasn't necessary

Ravens really let the game get away. Ravens were up 35 - 21 in the 4th with about 9 minutes left. They went for it on 4th and 1 at Miami's 41 and got stopped.

False bravado. Hate that crap.
Same thing with Hyde hitting that WR when the ball was nowhere close. Completely unnecessary and should have been a flag. And I dont want to hear from you homers that it was fine. If that was Diggs getting hit unnecessarily you would be screaming for a flag.
I was there last night and fully expected a flag on Hyde. Regarding Hart - Hart was on the field I believe for the extra point on the last touchdown. After the play he was jawing at one of the D line guys. If I remember right it was 98 which I believe is Simmons. Probably some bad blood between the guys from last year.

Von Miller. Titans RT is a rookie.

We’re moving away from a punitive system of justice, with an eye toward rehabilitation and restorative justice.
I completely understand the outrage of the family, but I’d think this type of resolution is fairly common.
Reid's maximum exposure was 7 years if found guilty. He decided to plead guilty which usually means a shorter sentence. Otherwise why would a defendant plead guilty.

Dak has been bad for so long. Why is he a starter?
Because Dallas thinks he's good

Horrible Harry with nice job stuffing the middle on a 4th and goal at the 1. #97

I think that is a real possibility. If he is as good of a tackler as advertised--we know he can cover--then I see him as potentially a safety in the type of Defensive system the Bills play.
When the Bills drafted Benford, Beane mentioned his ballhawking skills which made me believe they were looking at him as a safety.

Dane is clearly CB2 on this team when Tre White is healthy. Neither Benford nor Elam are challenging him for snaps at this time.
However, Tre White is NOT yet game healthy, so the platooning of Elam and Benford is impactful on a game-to-game basis. They have different physical traits and different skillsets and fluencies. Ideally, by season's end, both rookie corners have gained enough seasoning to be relied upon no matter the play call or matchup. We know our coaches are ELITE developers of secondary talent. It will be fascinating to see how the CB snap counts unfold in 2022/23.
The Bills secondary situation is fascinating. I agree that when healthy it's Tre CB1 and Jackson CB2. I wonder if Benford replaces Poyer next year. This move would get Benford on the field and help out the cap situation. Don't get me wrong, I like Poyer but as Beane has said - you can't re-sign everyone.

My question is who gets cut when Tre comes off PuP? Or do we not need to cut someone?
If someone gets hurt between now and then, that player could go on IR. No cut would be needed.

I think Dolphins fans and Pats fans will be really upset after tomorrow's game because they have nobody like Josh Allen at QB.
-
The Bills will work on the turnovers this week. I don't understand why Allen was running the ball in the 4th up by 21. Nobody wants to see him get hurt but need to realize this is what makes Allen special and why the Bills haven't punted in 4 out of the last 6 games.
-
What an idiot. Allen has played at a high level for 2 years plus Thursday night and this kind of garbage is still being spewed.

Admittedly I didn't read the entire thread. Incentives earned this season are part of next year's cap, right?

Jordan Phillips had a really nice game with 1.5 sacks and great energy. I was glad that they brought him back. The D line as a whole had a great game.
However Phillips is not better than Oliver. DTs take on double teams at times, hold the point of attack, clog the running lanes, and force the RB to bounce the play outside which allows someone else to make a tackle. Oliver consistently does these things at a higher level than Phillips.

He failed to acknowledge that the Bills simply outplayed them. Better game plan and better execution. He kept saying that ***** ain't us. Sometimes a team will have a bad game no doubt but other times the opposing team just puts on a beat down. They lost by 21 at home on national television. Their offense had 150 total yards when they started their drive with about 9:30 left in the game. The Bills defense was dominating.

He took a tremendous pounding, especially in the 2nd half.
And Frasier couldn't have called up more than 2-3 blitzes all night long.
The guy on WGR just said the Rams went 11 personnel the entire game and the Bills never blitzed tonight.

Both TD drives by Bills were great stuff!

We’ve played better than the score indicates but the turnovers have cost us.
Turnovers are the great equalizer. I like how the Bills defense has played for the most part.

I’m a bit surprised. Loved what Shakir has shown to date. I kinda felt like they would try to find ways to get him involved whether returning kicks. I mean he looked totally calm and collected out there in preseason and had a knack of getting open and making plays
I hope they are not overthinking this..
Me neither. I thought Spector would be inactive.

I think of them as a safety net back there. They so rarely make a mistake (I know, it’s happens so you don’t need to remind me) that it gives me a level of comfort.
But age is age, and dollars are dollars. They have to find a way to make it all work, even if it might be at the expense of some older guys. I’m pretty confident they can find and develop replacement DB’s if need be.
Colin Cowherd recently was discussing spending trends in the NFL. Most teams spend a good chunk of their money on QB, WR, DE, and CB. He specifically mentioned the Bills spending more money at S and LB than most teams. I believe Beane is shifting resources towards D line. He signed Miller, likely will extend Oliver, and most likely let Poyer leave via FA. He drafted Benford and Bernard who may be starters next year. I don't see how the Bills can keep both Milano and Edmunds next year.
