  1. I’ve been providing state based data. And they aren’t useless.
  2. Perspective Don't let the media fool you with their panic porn. I'm hoping soon they will keep a national database of average age of newly confirmed infected COVID case. This would now be a very important metric to gauge. Texas and Florida seem to be providing some info on it. My hunch is that everywhere the average age is plummeting.
  3. More attempted panic porn shot down.
  4. Florida Hospital data looks good
  5. Lots more hospital, ICU and ventilator capacity than in mid April.https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/covid19/6.20.2020 Presentation - final.pdf
  6. Meanwhile deaths are continuing to plummet. Its as if these increased cases in states that have opened up (red states) that have done much better managing the virus than the (blue states) are bringing out all the ghoulish posters who are eager to see death counts go up. Very macabre-like The posters who are coming out of the woodworks to share their morbid fantasies and you know who you are, it’s evidently transparent that you are acting like hacks. When NY and other states were doing so poorly many of us weren’t sharing this sort of bizarre exuberance. We spoke substantively to the policies that led to their failures but what you guys are engaging in is pathetic.
  7. Death total continues it's downward march.
  8. I think what they are saying is STOP ENGAGING IN PANIC PORN!
  9. This was dealing with #7 that I heard today.
  10. The media is shameless. We know that. They literally engage in doublethink. The cognitive dissonance that comes from their newsrooms is truly awe-inspiring. They have no shame.
  11. Sooooo. No consensus? lol
  12. What's the consensus view? Suspension? If so, how long?
  13. Thanks for replying. Another idiot that I can put on my ignore.
  14. Texas has had 479 deaths since June 1st. Which is an average of 26 deaths per day....210 deaths over the past 7 days which is an average of 30 deaths per day. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/texas/
  15. I don't get why you and others keep arguing with this ######. What's the point? He's a moron and incapable of having substantive discussions. Plus it clutters up these pages with crap.
  16. Just to piggyback off what I just saw from DeSantis presentation which had slides showing all these things.
  17. It certainly is playing a part but isn't painting the entire picture. I think it's coming from a variety of places, contact tracing, some companies paying for employees before they enter into the workplace, prisons, migrant agricultural worker testing etc. I was listening to DeSantis presser today and there were some interesting factual tidbits, such as: 1) That ICU usage has not been increasing and in fact roughly about 50% lower than it's peak. 2) That the majority of deaths now are coming from Long-term facilities. 3) That less people are testing positive in the long-term facilities than before and is trending lower. 4) That overall deaths are still trending lower 5) That ventilator usage is trending lower 6) That 80% of the people who have tested positive over the past week are under the age of 45 7) That hospital bed capacity is 50% higher now than it was in Late March and that is including all the elective surgeries and hospital usage 8 ) That the vast majority of the people who have tested positive are asymptomatic and not people who suspected they had the virus but rather done through targeted sweeps and contact tracing. Yeah, This isn't even an option. I only keep up with the data because it's something I enjoy tracking. There is no going back. If there is it will only be on a very limited targeted basis and even then the compliance will be terrible.
  18. Since I'm not a legal scholar, I don't really have much of an opinion on how the judgement came about. Pretty much from what I have seen I'm convinced that interpreting the constitution is like interpreting the Bible. You can have two totally different people read the same verse and come away with a different conclusion. With that said, I'm good with the outcomes of both the LGBTQ and DACA rulings. Although, the only Reason why Obama signed that was because Rubio was about to have his bill go up for a vote and he didn't want Rubio/Republicans to get the credit for it so he jammed it. And Trump was willing to go against his base and give major concessions if the Democrats would have simply gone along with his wall. They cried foul. Let's be honest, the Democrats have no desire to fix this issue because they know it is a political cudgel that they can use against Republicans.
  19. No, it doesn't concern me. When I look at the average age of the people who are being infected and that a good portion of the people who are being hospitalized are much younger than before and the fact that ventilator use is not going up. This tells me that the average person who is being hospitalized now is a completely different and less at risk demographic than before.
  20. You and I can differ on our opinions, I think it is panic porn. This whole issue is way overblown, and it doesn't really matter anyway because there is no turning back, unless you have some paternalistic government official that indicates otherwise and even then that would be an outlier and the public wouldn't effectively comply anyway. The only reason why I'm commenting on it is because I'm a data nerd and I love following these sort of things.
  21. ICU has gone up but ventilator use is flat. It sort of a progression, Infected - Hospital - ICU - Ventilator. Also, that ventilator use nor ICU nor Hospital beds are nowhere near in any sort of critical mass. I read that 25% Of Hospitalizations in Texas related to COVID are below age 30. Meaning that very likely we will see the vast majority of these folks get out of those hospitals quickly, dwell times will be lower than the previous means. Yeah, it's all panic porn at this point. But that's a good site. I will make sure to keep it up on my tabs.
  22. Since the average age of each COVID person is plummeting which we are clearly seeing in Texas and Florida, it changes the dynamic and no longer are hospital admissions the key metric but rather ICU and ventilator usage. The more you delve into the data the more you realize this is panic porn. Don’t expect most of the media to report these nuances. It’s not that it’s going down nearly as much as that seniors aren’t being infected as much as before.
  23. Clearly some dynamic has changed with the testing to cause the average age of each COVID infected person to plummet
