  1. I don't agree with this. The Cowboys have as much talent as anyone in the league and have for a few years now. They were out coached in this game and losing Adams didn't help matters. I don't say that this is all Phillips fault, but his team didn't make the adjustments and laid an egg in this game. That has got to reflect somewhat on the coach.
  2. Not 4th and 1. If he would've gone for it on 4th and 3 or more, then I would've said he's crazy.
  3. I wonder how Nate Kaeding feels?
  4. I go for it. Chargers haven't stopped the Jets in short yardage yet.
  5. FG? Go for it? Punt?
  6. I seriously doubt it!
  7. Of course. Give yourself 2 chances to get the ball back.
  8. See other thread on exact same topic...
  9. For some reason this all reminds me of when Pat Riley took over as the LA Lakers head coach in the early 1980's. Magic Johnson didn't like Paul Westhead so he was fired and the Owner (Jerry Buss) scrambled to find a new coach, initially naming Jerry West only to have West decline the offer. He finally named Pat Riley (a nobody) and Riley went up to the podium at his press conference and said sarcastically that if no one wanted the head coaching job of the LA Lakers (a proud and storied NBA team), he would take it. The Bill's head coaching position may not be perfect, but it is an NFL head coaching job (1 of 32 available in the world). You would think that there are a lot of professional coaches that would jump at the chance, as the opportunity doesn't come to many. Part of me wanted the job to go to Fewell because he actively campaigned for it. That's worth something in my book.
  10. That is obviously the case. Specifically, it's about not wanting to spend top money on players ("cash to the cap"). Sounds like that was the problem with Shanahan and Cowher. That being the case, it's still very surprising that assistant coaches don't even want to interview with the team. I know that when I've been looking for jobs, I never turn down an interview unless it's a totally upsurd situation. It improves your interview skills, raises your profile to other interested parties and gives you a sense of what is available in the marketplace. To not want to interview is very strange (especially for a guy like Harbaugh that isn't getting ready for a playoff game).
  11. I've never understood why the NFL and, in particular, the NFLPA, doesn't take care of it's former players better. These stories about the players who built the popularity of the game and are now ignored are far to common.
  12. Who else is still in the running? Cowher out, Shanahan out, Shottenheimer out (both of them), Fewell out, Grimm out, Billick not interviewed... I think it's pretty much Frazier by default.
  13. I thought Sanders did an especially good job in his first season. I will be sorry to see him go. Really, all the Bills needed was a new HC, OC and strength & conditioning coach. I thought the other guys were solid. Once you get rid of your HC, however, it's usually pretty much a clean sweep.
  14. So the defense limited him to being tied for the league lead in interceptions on the second best pass defense in the NFL? Pass defense is not a weakness of the Cover 2. He needs to deflate the ego a little.
  15. My thinking exactly... and I really like McNabb. The Bills need to rebuild via the draft over multiple seasons. I don't think they are one player away.
  16. Maybe Al Davis was right about Lane Kiffin after all...
  17. 1. Warner 2. Manning 3. Brees 4. Rivers 5. Favre 6. Romo 7. Flacco 8. Sanchez Just based on who I'd want at the controls of my team right now.
  18. These Peters posts never end. It is what it is. You can root for him or against him, but let's move on in either case. The Bills need to focus on finding a new LT, that's the reality.
  19. This. PS- The kid is fast.
  20. Better off giving it to Frazier or Fewell than him.
  21. This. Those teams had a lot of talent and he just couldn't bring it together. I wouldn't exactly call him a "teacher" either.
  22. I don't think that Rob Johnson was going to lead the Bills to a championship...
  23. Man, you guy's are funny.
