It's easy to pick on Jauron, but one of the reasons the Bills kept drafting DBs is because they kept losing their top guys via free agency. I put that on the front office not the coach.

1. I agree 100%. Although we should probably wait to see if Gailey can coach before we say that he's good, it's hard to imagine worse game management than Jauron. 2. I would call it break even at best. They add Spiller and some strong role players, but lose Owens and probably Schobel. If they are going to improve, they need LAST years draft picks to step up a notch, especially Maybin. 3. They lost some close games, but also won some that they shouldn't have like against Carolina and Indianapolis. I'd say that their record was a pretty accurate indication of how good they were. I think all this adds up to the same old thing as last season... between 5 and 7 wins.

I didn't really see anything in Meredith last year that would suggest that he could start at LT this season. I see him as a reserve or, possibly, RT. I think it'll basically be the same line as last season. Green/Meredith step in for Butler.

Sounds like a good pickup for RG or RT, like Wang. It looks like D Bell at LT for another season...

Yup. Who was the last QB picked in the 7th round to do anything? Unitas? I doubt he'll get a serious look in training camp with three other QBs competing for a starting position. I hope I'm wrong.

The Bill ranked 30th against the run because then ran a penetration oriented defense ... the same reason that the Colts were poor against the run. If they ran a more traditional 4-3, they would've been better. If you look at the top teams in the league... NO, Indy, Minnesota... you can't beat them without being able to rush the QB. I'm worried that were were mediocre at this last season, our best pass rusher is about to retire and no steps have been taken in free agency or the draft to address it. I think Troup might have been a good pick (arguments of whether we could've gotten him later aside), but why pick another run oriented defender right after him?

PS- When your best (and only) pass rusher is about to retire and you spend your top defensive draft picks on linemen who can't rush the passer then that's not good. Even someone as juvenile as you might be able to understand that... or maybe you think that our top outside linebacker tandem of Maybin and Kelsay will take up the slack?

I like the pick, sort of. I think he's a good player and better than Cody, but my three primary concerns going into this season are: 1) QB 2) Pass rush with Schobel retiring 3) Offensive Tackle ... and so far we haven't addressed any of them.

Well, at this rate the Bills will draft in the top 2 or 3 next year so they can take their pick.

This is the best thing about only having the first round tonight. Imagine having a draft party, thinking that you are a first round pick, possibly a top 10 pick, and then telling everybody to come back tomorrow after you don't get drafted.
