  1. We're not in the bottom 5 in defense- where do you get that from? Our defense is so bad we only gave up 23 points when they CLEARLY had a benefit when it came to field position the entire game, and our defense is approximately on par with other good teams like the Patriots, Packers, and Saints? I don't care how many yards we give up so long as we hold our opposition down in POINTS, which what really matters.
  2. You are confusing borderline calls and routine calls that would go against the Bills with calls that are blatantly wrong. That was my point in bringing up the game from 1998...
  3. The refs are bad because the VIDEO EVIDENCE substantiated that it was a catch, but was ruled as 'play stands as called', which was a blown call. This isn't a gray area play or a 'maybe' play, it was black and white, clear as crystal. The denial of it is bizarre and disturbing.
  4. Yes they can, genius.... momentum stopped and we lost our opportunity to get insurance points. Put your crayons back in their box and move along.
  5. This game of course was lost because of our defense not stopping the Patriots and our offense not scoring enough points: http://www.footballdb.com/boxscore/1998112907 Going out to buy some stock in Terra Nitrogen... more belief in fertilizer these days.
  6. It's not an alarming stat if you compare it with what it happening in the league today, and of course we're not playing in a vacuum.
  7. This conclusion is incorrect- we would have had a first down at the Bills 49, and 16 yards later would have been in field goal range (the previous drive we marched down 75 yards for a FG). That is 16 yards we were denied in obtaining due to a bad call, and it denied us being in a position to at LEAST go into overtime. I do not understand this denial over this call.. how could it NOT affect the outcome of the game? It wasn't a NORMAL play, but a BLOWN CALL.
  8. No Trent Cole and Jason Peters for the Bills game? I'm surprised that Andy Reid hasn't been hung in effigy yet.
  9. I will concede that, but to call Fitz only a backup QB is to ignore what he has done with the talent level we have in Buffalo right now. He is a bona fide starter- it amazes me how Bills fans have forgotten how bad our QBs have been, and when we get one that shines he's somehow not a legit starter.
  10. No, it wasn't. You assume too much and you are wrong, again... not surprised.
  11. I can agree on that for sure, but the idea that the refs DIDN'T cost us a chance to win and it was only our D is ludicrous.
  12. Yep. Exactly. 3 points at least denied us on that drive.
  13. I don't care if you are blind and clueless to the fact that it isn't sarcasm if it isn't presented in a sarcastic way.
  14. NO, because the best they do is TIE in regulation, and we go to OT if that catch stands. Last time I checked, a tie isn't a loss.
  15. It is certainly not funny and he doesn't act as if he is joking around. A person speaking sarcastically gives some indicator of sarcasm, but he does no such thing. I'm not buying...
  16. That call directly influenced the loss, and it cost us a CHANCE to win, and it certainly cost us to lose the game in regulation for sure. 23-13 with a FG on that drive 23-20 20-20 end of regulation Obvious...
  17. That's not what the numbers say in his last 16 starts... the 49ers have ridden Alex Smith, the Cowboys Tony Romo, and STILL Fitzpatrick outperforms them all despite the dearth of offensive talent. Your conclusion is not based in fact.
  18. Your logic impresses me, sir. Keep it up!
  19. Absolutely untrue... we were +2 in the turnover department and that call stopped us from scoring at least 3 points that could have put us in a position to win and changed the tone. Officials should NEVER, EVER be allowed to influence the outcome of a game in that manner, period.
  20. Where have you been the last few games? This didn't stop us from winning the games, and yet the referees killed our momentum up by 7 as Fitz said and cost us the game. Turnovers and offense has been the key to our success this season, in case you haven't noticed!
  21. Merriman is a football guy, and yet he still hasn't made much of an impact.... the calls for concern on this front are growing with each game played.
  22. If the situation was reversed and the Lions got our ref team, THEY would have gotten screwed and the Bills would have had a great chance to salt away a win. The scandal in the NBA proved to the sporting public that the possibility of fixed games is much more than just talk from a few wackos, that the possibility has merit.
  23. Yes, in fact they are... this season so far has seen the largest yardage total so far after 4 games in years. We just happened to play against a team that is one of the exceptions this season out there.
  24. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/sort/netTotalYards/position/defense I don't feel as bad after the game on Sunday, considering who we played. Our big offense met their big defense and we lost by 3 on the road. I'm good.
  25. The whole LEAGUE has been like this so far this season, or have you noticed? Patriots Packers Saints Not a bad team among them, and yet their defense is just as bad.
