Bills bringing in Leinart, Beck for tryouts
tedstrong replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Charley Batch! Charley Batch! -
Nice catch on the sarcasm of the TITLE of the thread. The text of the thread addressed more concisely that on which you elaborated. My statements remain true. Excuse me for reacting at the final gun with a little passion. I believe this is an open forum for fans, not necessarily forum professionals, versed on protocol. Upon reflection, I agree. This may have been a glitch, a hiccup, or a calculated attempt to see how our players perform in a basic construct. My initial reaction was based on too many years of getting abused by the rest of the league as our linemen stood up at the line of scrimmage, our linebackers misread gap control, and our defensive backs laid off and reacted.. (proper)

Everyone was laying off, reacting. Physical? Atacking?

5 NFL Teams That Should Just Move Already
tedstrong replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ever been to Green Bay? It MAY be the size of Niagara Falls. Besides, a few strong years from now (a direction I think we're headed), the regional financial position of this team will be rock solid. Even at this point, I think the NFL values Buffalo more than we know. Even if this franchise moved, they would have to replace it (like Cleveland). Cheers, Bart! Exactly. -
Buffalo Bills - Through the Ages
tedstrong replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice job! Thanks for all your work. I'll have to watch again to see if there is any footage of Eugene Marve throwing big Mickey Marvin out of bounds by his shoulder pads. Very inspirational. -
Why is Reggie McKenzie not on the wall?

Just Jack, Could you please merge this older thread as well? I just don't know how... -
Why is Reggie McKenzie not on the wall?
tedstrong replied to tedstrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course, Joe D has been up there since 1997. Ruben will be up there. Let''s get 'old man' Reggie up there, he was a 2 time 1st team Pro Bowler, himself - and who doesn't remember the pride of seeing him line up in the early 80's as a senior member of those playoff teams. -
Why is Reggie McKenzie not on the wall?
tedstrong replied to tedstrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it's ok with the admins. Add a 'yes' for me to pass on to "the powers that be". My reasons, as stated before, are that he was a stalwart pulling guard for many years through the early 80's. He was the acknowledged leader of the "Electric Company". He was a consumate Buffalo Bill. Respectfully submitted. -
Why is Reggie McKenzie not on the wall?
tedstrong replied to tedstrong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying he belongs in the HOF. As a Bill, he was equal to anyone we have up there- especially as THE acknowledged leader of the 'Electric Company'. -
If only from a leadership and longevity standpoint AND being a leader by example on one of the top lines in NFL history. Does anybody else remember feeling the pride of having 'old man Reggie' still manning the line in the in the early 80's. Does anybody else remember that he was the main pulling guard that terrorized the league for OJ? He was a Buffalo Bill of definitive status.

Why are Lawson and Branch missing?
tedstrong replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why are these FA acquisitions missing from OTA's? Would it not be advantageous for them to be here? Is there some cicumstance that makes this ok? -
Not to quibble, but Santa Clara is 40 minutes away from SF with ZERO traffic, as opposed to Orchard Park being maybe 20 minutes from Buffalo. That being said, WSS, here's hoping you can walk across the parking lot to the Bill's Super Bowl! I was unclear, it should have read: (Santa Clara is to San Jose as N Tonawanda is to Buffalo)

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
tedstrong replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sad to see Polian does not like the pick at all, and all of the other ESPN negativity. What the hell? They probably said the same about Kaepernick. I've been an EJ Man for months. I am really happy, and even happier that he's a really good kid and that he is so motivated. I think that EJ is perfect for the new NFL. Excellent picking up more quality draft picks -

Have you ever worn Bills gear to an away game?
tedstrong replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oakland Holding Center...I mean Coliseum, twice in '02. Them: "Spielman, Spielman!" (my jersey) Me: "Liberace used to like to wear makeup, too!" Candlestick many times, including the game in '79 in the fog that sent us into the playoffs. Never any problems. SF fans are classy, unless playing Oakland. Oh yeah, I wore the colors to the Murph in SD, too. Awesome fans. -
i am throwing my name in for new Pope...

Pardon my ignorance, but to whom are you referring? (the pope, that is) -
Can we just go back to red helmets already.
tedstrong replied to r00tabaga's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As you can see from my avatar I like the white helmets, but even in the late seventies I was hoping we would go to red helmets. More agressive, you know, like football. And for the fellow who ridiculously posited that 'red helmets have no place in pro football'- I guess being the best team in pro football for the better part of a decade doesn't count, huh? As we approach championship status again, people will clamor for the championship look. Red. -
Something a former member of our team said to me recently
tedstrong replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, The Packers were horrendous for many years (70's and 80's, with some middling exceptions), but they not only filled their stadium, but the season tickets remained so rare that there was and is a waiting list and are more often bequeathed after death. That's what fans do, in my humble opinion. That's why I just tell people, "Remember this smile. One day my team will be good again". -
I could be wrong but..........

I had a great swimming coach that couldn't swim, but he could coach. Just saying.
