  1. This is the priority I give to the positions we need to improve. This isn't necessarily the order I think we should draft..b/c it depends on FA. 1. DE 2. TE 3. C 4. LB 5. DT 6. WR 7. DB My dream draft for the first 3 picks would be as follows: 1. Michael Johnson - DE - I know a lot of people would probably prefer Orakpo, but quite frankly, I just don't see him being there when we draft. I personally think that Johnson (I've watched GT quite a lot) has arguably the most tools/raw talent of any DE in this draft. He's a FREAK...he actually reminds me a bit of Kearse (in terms of build/wingspan)...his only drawback in my opinion is the fact that he's still kinda raw. But hey, look at Ware, he didn't come into the league and dominate from the beginning..he had a bit of a learning curve and now he's a complete beast. Johnson is a freakishly good talent/athlete, and when was the last time the bills had someone like that? 2. Chase Coffman - TE - To me it's simple: This damn team has been playing with one less player on offense since Metzelaars played here. This difficiency HAS TO END THIS OFFSEASON. A solid TE is one of the most important pieces/safety nets for a developing QB. Coffman is a high motor guy, with very good size, EXTREMELY good hands, and a never say die attitude. There's a chance that he could still be there for us in the 2nd round. We would need to take him there - no questions asked. 3. Antoine Caldwell - C - This guy has anchored the Crimson Tide's OL during his entire collegiate career. He's smart, he's quick, and pretty damn athletic for an OL. I even think he earned his degree in 3 years or something like that - I'd have to look that one up. He doesn't come with as many bells and whistles as say a Mack or Unger, but he could very well make it into the 3rd round. If he's there when we draft in the 3rd, we should def. snatch him up. I need time to think of the remaining 4 picks. Hopefully the Bills can at LEAST land a solid veteran LB in FA to replace Ellison, b/c he simply has no business starting. I wouldn't expect the bills to make a big splash in FA - as usual. If the Bills are incapable of even getting a veteran starting LB in FA, then the 3 guys above will have to change imo (ie draft a LB with our 2nd pick).
  2. Provide me a single game where Dick Jauron, in his tenure here, has outcoached the opposing team's coach. Just one game. On the other hand, I can provide at least 5 games just THIS season where DJ was the one that was outcoached. Please. I like DJ the person. I don't like DJ the coach. He needs to be fired. Bring in Steve Spagnola or Fassel or Cowher or even Mariucci. Ralph needs to move here, and move quickly. If DJ was playing for his coaching life this past sunday, then he failed MISERABLY. He should've been fired right after that horrid run that we did to end the first half. Typical DJ, and typical buffalo.
  3. I love people like you. "Shaking hands with our crew"; knowing people on the "inside"; driving cars "worth more than the average home in Buffalo"; yet, still relegated to posting on a messageboard on a Sunday night, and providing vague "insider" information that essentially tells us nothing that my dog doesn't already know. Lets analyze exactly what you just said: "You can tear me a new one but as of now DJ looks to be gone. Will cooler heads prevail and DJ / Ralph sleep on it and come to an arrangement where some of the staff gets axed / moved and DJ stays on, well that's another story." In that phrase, you essentially gave us 0 information. Great job guy. I envy your knowledge.
  4. This is how scary our Offense was this year (and not scary-good): 1. Seattle - 30th Defense in the league. 2. Jax - 12th Defense in the league. 3. Oak. - 27th Defense in the league. 4. St. Louis - 29th Defense in the league. 5. Arizona - 19th Defense in the league. 6. San Diego - 24th Defense in the league. 7. Miami (2x's) - 15th Defense in the league. 8. Jets (2x's) - 17th Defense in the league. 9. Patsies (2x's) - 10th Defense in the league. 10. Cleveland - 26th Defense in the league. 11. Chiefs - 31st Defense in the league. 12. San Fran - 16th Defense in the league. 13. Denver - 28th Defense in the league. We played ONE team this year that had a defense that was in the top 10 and that was NE, who are 10th. In those two games, we scored a combined 10 points while being shut out at HOME. Folks, this offense went beyond simply being horrible - it was perhaps the worst in the NFL (considering the competition we played). To me, our offseason "musts" are clear: Draft/Sign a pass-rushing DE, and then every other single major move should be concentrated on offense. The horseshit of an offense we witnessed this year must be addressed this offseason.
  5. Forget about gloves, how about Edwards just sucking as usual against a good defense?
  6. Hey Thurman. I hear ya that we need a Center. But go around the league, and you'll quickly see how only a handful of teams' dominant offensive lineman were ever drafted in the first round. It is well known that dominant offensive lineman can be found in rounds 1-7. Dolphins have two Dallas Cowboys have two first round picks on their offensive line Giants, with the best O-line in football, have zero. And two of the five were undrafted. The Patriots have 1 first rounder, and he was drafted with the final pick of the first round. Chargers have zero. The Steelers have zero. The Panthers have two. Titans have zero The Broncos have zero. The Ravens have two. The Vikings have two. The Cardinals have one. Out of all the teams I just listed. None of them have a Center that was drafted in the first round. Quite frankly, for the bills to take one in the first would be a wasted pick. Other than a stud LT or RT, there are few times where an Olineman warrants a first round pick.
  7. I was going to mention this very point. Good thing I checked first to see if anyone else did.
  8. Kelsay and Denney would be OK backups..giving Schobel and Orakpo/Johnson a breather.
  9. True, bue earlier in the season it was Walker mostly at LT protecting the blindside and Chambers at RT..but ya, def. agree that Chambers was also solid earlier in the year.
  10. I agree completely, this was probably one of the best games for our DB's this season. Many tipped balls, solid coverage in critical situations, and two turnovers (well, Mitchell got that INT technically). Today, bend but don't break actually worked b/c denver should've scored much more than they did. Witnessing today's game, I hope everyone can see why in my other post and many other individuals on this board are advocating the absolute NEED of a pass rushig DE in the draft. You simply can't run a cover/tampa 2 defense w/o a pass rush--well, technically you can't be effective with any kind of defense with no pass rush, but it's even more critical when you're playing zone. We weren't able to sack Cutler with a 4 man rush once in this game...we didn't even come close. Truly pathetic. Johnson or Orakpo in the first round..i don't want to hear anything else. I think a reason why our DB's made more plays than usual today is b/c we were playing man quite a lot in certain situations. Thoughts?
  11. Listen, I hate Brady with the best of them. But if I were a pats fan, let me see Cassell produce in the playoffs and in the super bowl to the level that Brady has before we trade him away. If someone is going to offer 3 1st round picks or whatever kind of absurd package, then the Pats would almost have to consider that deal. As a Bills fan, I would sacrifice our 3 next 1st round picks for a P. Manning or Brady. Instant playoffs for the next 5 years.
  12. Chambers. Maybe I missed one, but I didn't see him beaten at all tonight. I truly thought that Peters being out was going to be a disaster for Edwards this game. While at the beginning the O-line struggled with the blitz packages, I didn't see any of the sacks attributed to Chambers. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Regardless, big kudos to Chambers for stepping in there!
  13. McKelvin has been one of teh few bright spots for us this year. He's def. developing into a star player all-around. It's a shame that INT didn't count As for Fred Jackson, he's turning into one of my favorite players on the team mainly b/c of his history and how hard he's had to work to get here.
  14. Ya, winning this game in such frigid conditions, and on the road certainly showed me a lot about Edwards. Def. some kudos to him.
  15. i lost $200 dollars today b/c I took the broncos giving 6.5 points, but money never surpasses my love for the bills! This was a great game all around. And to me, the most important thing was seeing Edwards produce in really, really cold weather.
  16. Cutler = laser-guided rockets Bills QB's = broken water pistol
  17. Wow..Cutler is fun to watch. Will we ever get a QB who can actually complete more than a 3 yard route?
  18. hey, so do you think Turk will throw Edwards under the bus as well? I mean you HAVE to see that blitz coming no?
  19. this is going to be the easiest money i've ever made in my life.
  20. Can't speak for that guy, but I'm def. rooting for the bills to win. However, I'm also being realistic. After that horrible game last week vs. the Jets, traveling on the road, in 10 degree weather?: Denver - 37 Bills - 10 Book it.
  21. i'm interested as well, however, did you see that reverse last week? He looked pretty darn slow. Def. want to see more though.
  22. Denver - 37 Bills - 10 All of the bills points come off of Special Teams play--one way or another.
