  1. You are more entitled to your opinion. In fact, your opinions are deeply valued now that I'm heading the program here at Orchard Park. However, I disagree. Brown is an instant upgrade (when healthy), over anyone we currently have at FS. His experience at the position, and while playing for one of the best defenses in the league over the last few years will have a positive impact on KO and the rest of the secondary. We feel KO may be in need of a mentor. KO will still see some playing time this season.
  2. I disagree. With Kelsay, Denney, Schobel, Greg Hardy, Chris Ellis..& co. we're fine at depth. Schobel will start, and the rookie Greg Hardy will be broken in slowly throughout the season in a rotation with Denney/Kelsay. We still think that Denney/Kelsay can contribute, just not as everydown starters. Hardy will be a pro bowler for years to come.
  3. KO. This team hasn't given up on KO. We don't think he came back from his injury at 100% this season. After a solid rookie year, we expect him to contribute greatly this upcoming year. However, Brown will add much needed EXPERIENCED depth at the safety position. He's familiar with our defense, and he'll be relatively cheap.
  4. Since I'm the one calling the shots now, he would have just as good of an opportunity to start here in Buffalo, then he would in Tennessee next year. i'm not placing all of my eggs in the fragile Trent basket. If anything, Trent may be served well to sit for next season, and watch a veteran QB with playoff and super bowl experience run an offense.
  5. Alright folks, here goes! FA: Karlos Dansby - Arizona - LB Kerry Collins - Titans - QB Mike Brown - Chicago - FS John Thornton- Bengals- DT Re-sign Greer - an absolute must in my opinion. None of these FA's are really stars, and I think they would all be within the Bills' budget. I'll try my hardest to get them in here folks. I will look to find a team seeking to trade up and get my pick at 11, because my star (orakpo) will be gone by then. I'll trade down somewhere to around the 22-26th pick. We get an extra 2nd pick, and fill some much needed positions as follows: 1st round: Greg Hardy - Ole Miss - DE* 2nd round (ours): Chase Coffman - Missouri - TE 2nd round (trade): Kenny Britt - Rutgers - WR 3rd round: Antoine Caldwell - The Tide - C 4th round: Zack Follett - Cal - OLB 5th round: Ray Feinga - BYU - G 6th round: Travis McCall - Roll Tide - FB/TE 7th round: Jordan Norwood - Penn State - WR Just send this post to Buffalo hierarchy, and I'll accept the position. I'll need to give 2 weeks notice, however. Hopefully Dick and Ralph understand. Shall it be written, so shall it be done! *If he doesn't declare, I'll draft Michael Johnson - Georgia Tech - DE.
  6. good selection I think we all agree we need another receiver on this team. Ideally, I would like a solid pass-catching TE on this roster. However, if we're not going to go the TE route, I would be willing to spend a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a WR if possible. Could anyone imagine what would happen to this offense if Evans went down with an injury? AS bad as our offense was this year, it's scary to think of that possibility. What do you guys think of Kenny Britt? If this guy played for USC or tOSU, he'd be going in the top 10, easy. He declared this year after his junior year. It's hard to say what round he'll go in. Possibly the 2nd round..but who knows in these drafts. His 40 time isn't superb, so that may drop him a bit. 6'4, 215 2006: 29rec 440yds 2td 2007: 62rec 1232yds 8td 2008: 87rec 1371yds 7td Big East's all-time leading receiver. And the nation's second-leading receiver this year in yards per game. I do realize we have other needs on this team, but depending on what we do in FA, WR will have to be addressed at some point as well. Thoughts?
  7. Stroud wouldn't really work in the 3-4, Denney would be horrible in ANY scheme as the starter. I would prefer the 3-4, but you need to realize that the roster is not in place for a 3-4. If we were to switch, you're looking at a couple of years of player overhaul to set up a solid defense. I'm willing to stay with the defense we run now. why ours is ineffective at times is soley due to the lack of pass rush. (IMO)
  8. I personally feel our biggest needs are as follows. DE LB C TE In that order. After that, it's pretty much a wash in my opinion. (I would understand if people wanted to bump TE above Center on that pecking order).
  9. I agree completly Indy, while Peters had a subpar year, I think we all know that missing training camp/preaseason affected his play. He's one of the better players we have on this team. You don't just go out and replace a LT that easily. I think some people forget how it was before Peters took over at LT.
  10. Trade for McNabb. Let Edwards have the surgery, and sit on the sidelines for 2 years. It shouldn't take more than two 3rd rounders to get McNabb in here.
  11. as many needs as we may have, i'm thinking the same thing. However, you KNOW it's not going to happen. this staff is love-struck with Edwards. He's cheap, he's young, and he's a clean-cut. I'm not ready to really abandon Edwards either, but I would draft Bradford regardless, and if Edwards fails after next season..Bradford starts the 2010 season.
  12. what have I been looking at? Evans and Reed. Wouldn't you consider them "solid"? I didn't say pro bowlers. I said SOLID. What would you consider them? Sure, we could use a true number 1 WR, but give me solid QB play and these WR's would look 10x's better. Hardy did look like a joke.
  13. listen, if you're going to sit there and start bitching about the defense not creating more turnovers then fine. But for anyone who watched the entire season, it's freaking clear that this defense and special teams carried the bills the entire season. The Chiefs game was the only game that you could clearly say, "our offense won that game," and I could give you 6 games at least where you could say "our offense lost us that game". Whereas with the defense, there's only really one game where you could say, "our defense lost us that game," and I can name you several where our defense made a key turnover or held the opposing team down long enough for us to win. Fact of the matter is, this defense could've had many more turnovers, but it wouldn't have mattered, b/c we would've simply scored a field goal even if we started on their 20yd line. And you're wrong, the offense didn't suck those games because there would have to be some kind of offense in the first place for it to suck..which there wasn't. How many turnovers did the offense have this season that put the defense in a vulnerable position? How many 3 and outs did we have? How many times did the offense kill the team's momentum by failing to score 6 and settling for 3? That was the theme this entire season, and not the defense failing to get turnovers. Go back and look at the boxscores of the games we played, and tell me how many games our defense lost for us on its own, and how many the offense won on its own. It's not even close.
  14. While I do agree this team needs an identity, the statement above about the offense is false. The steelers defense would've lost the games against the 49ers, Miami, and both New England games. We scored a combined 16 points in those 4 games (4pts per game). Nevertheless, I do agree that defense is closer to being dominant than the Offense. The single x-factor to this all is Trent Edwards. Technically, if one goes position by position, we're only 1-2 players away from being a good offense. 1. We have the RB's 2. We have solid WR's 3. We have a solid (not great/not horrible) Oline. We're essentially a true #1 WR (or good TE) and an Olineman away from being a very good offense...that is, if Edwards ever progresses to the point of being above average. On defense, we're probably 2 players away from being a very good defense (a pure pass-rushing DE, and a stud LB or Safety).
  15. Hey, quick question. I've been out of the Madden loop for 2 years. Maybe I misunderstood, but one can draft reall college players now on the game?
  16. Good post. I think we should give Trent one more year. However, i would like to bring in a veteran starter if possible to be the #2 because Trent as we all know seems to be injury prone. Ideally, like you mention, I would want McNabb. But I really don't see us trading for him and I'm sure his salary is above Buffalo's standards. We would probably be able to get him for two 3rd rounders, I'd assume..or maybe a 2nd and a third.
  17. To me, we still have to wait and see what happens in FA. I think that pass rush is our #1 concern. How it's addressed is still to be seen.
  18. I just finished posting this on another thread. While ideally I wouldn't mind drafting a safety, what's the point in doing so under this defensive scheme? We run a defense that doesn't require natural, raw ability and skills. All we need are bodies to roam around in our soft prevent defense. Mays would be a wasted pick, b/c we would waste his natural talents in our defense.
  19. I'd be up for drafting a DB, but what's the point of drafting DB's high in this defensive scheme? The way we run defense in buffalo doesn't require any playmaking ability whatsoever; simply stand 15yds behind the LOS and wait for the play to come to you. That kind of player can be found off of the practice squad. It is really quite pathetic. The fact of the matter is that you could draft Ed Reed II or Champ Bailey II, and they would look very average on our defense. So what's the point?
  20. The espn article states that Ralph will keep the entire coaching staff
  21. as the saying goes, fool me once, fool me twice, fool me trice, fool me....well, you just can't fool me again.
  22. "Though citing the dissatisfaction of the team's fans over a third consecutive 7-9 season, Wilson elected to retain Jauron and the entire coaching staff, believing the team is "better served by continuity in the coaching staff rather than a disruptive overhaul." -ESPN HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA WHAT A CIRCUS....i'm never attending another Bills game until Ralph dies.
  23. we have Cowher available, Marty, Shanahan, possibly Spagnola, etc... Maybe finally bring in a winning coach into this franchise...nope. We keep "7-9" DJ. HAHAHAHAH. Ralph, I hate you with every cell in my body.
  24. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! WE'RE A JOKE! Kill me now. Kill me slowly. Make it hurt as much as possible. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...908&id=1928
