  1. This is about 85% of my argument and this falls on ownership. When ownership interviews potential GM's/coaches and they discuss the plans for the team, if the GM starts saying Darby, Sammy, Ragland, etc. don't fit into their plans, then you seriously need to consider WTF the plan is going to be going forward Ragland is 23 and just came off a major injury. Even if he doesn't start immediately, is his upside any worse than a 4th round draft pick in....2019??
  2. Not saying he's a sure thing for the pro bowl, but he's 24 years old and: "In 2016, John Miller started all 16 games for the Buffalo Bills and proved to be a reliable starter on the line. He played 1,047 snaps on offense and only allowed 4 sacks all season long. He also gets bragging rights for helping lead the way for the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL. Miller’s 77.8 grade given to him by PFF was good for 29th in the league among guards and brought a balance of pass blocking and run blocking — 76.2 pass-block grade and 80.1 run-block grade. Those numbers are courtesy of Ryan Talbot." But we don't want talent on this roster. Miller has to battle it out with Vlad Suckasse Did I say Miller was 24?
  3. haha. i honestly have no idea. like you said, to even entertain the idea makes no sense.
  4. Darby was named rookie of the year by PFF. Yes, it's PFF, but Darby had an awesome Rookie season. He had a bad year 2. However, the circus that was Rex I'm sure didn't help anyone development. To give up on a player like that is ridiculous. He's 23 years old. Miller has been solid on the O-line and was a part of an Oline that dominated the league in the run game. Watkins has the potential to be a perennial pro bowler. None of those 3 players are "EJ bad"
  5. He does meet all of the criteria so far: 1. 24 or younger. 2. Top 100 pick in 2015. 3. Previous regime. 4. Has potential. So I guess he's gone.
  6. Pats. 100%. 1. We have zero chance of beating the Pats for this division. 2. If everything goes right and we're fighting for a wild card spot, the Chiefs will be right there too. 3. Better draft pick for us.
  7. If Miller is not on this team and Ducasse is I give up.
  8. Fair enough. We'll see. Still not sure how getting rid of talented 23/24yr olds puts us any closer to winning a Super Bowl.
  9. How is a .500 team with a top 10 scoring offense a garbage sandwich?? The 0-16 Lions were a garbage sandwich. The 2-14 chiefs were a garbage sandwich.
  10. Its amazing how a team can go 2 decades without making the playoffs during the age of parity.
  11. Good post; however, I disagree. Darby/Ragland/Watkins are all 24 and under and still on their rookie contracts. Darby had a good rookie season and followed that with a subpar 2nd season. He's unproven. Ragland never even started a game in the NFL. Unproven. Watkins, when healthy, was very effective. His talent is not up for debate, and he's still 24yrs old; not even in his prime yet. If what we want to do is get rid of proven players, get rid of Kyle Williams; get rid of Eric Wood; get rid of LoJax; don't sign Andre Holmes; get rid of Jerry Hughes; why is Streater on this team? Why in the world is Ducasse on this team?! Ragland is traded but we have Ducasse rotating with Miller? Ducasse is garbage. Complete, unequivocal garbage.
  12. So whats happening now isnt present tense?
  13. Is this sarcasm? A proven 3rd stringer sounds like an oxymoron. Miller was solid last year. And now hes rotating with Ducasse who is garbage. What does that say? Miller was solid last year. And now hes rotating with Ducasse who is garbage. What does that say?
  14. Another thing: what does a 2019 4th round pick do for us exactly. Fine, lets say Ragland still was not recovered from his injury. He doesnt have to start day 1. If anything he would be depth at an already weak position. The guy was the starting ILB for an elite Alabama defense. We cant use that talent at any point in the next 2yrs? His salary cap hit was minor.
  15. This is how I feel about it. Lynn shouldve been named HC just like Schwartz shouldve been made HC years ago. We're constantly chasing our tail. That being said im not giving up on MCD. He may still be a good choice but this may take a while. I felt that we were so close to being a 10-6 wild card team. I just want playoffs at this point. One time.
  16. Out of all the guys we have traded and given up on hes the 1 player i wish we can trade. And of course we cant. Typical.
  17. No i get it. I want to know their vision, but if their vision involves getting rid of the young talent, id probably consider other visions.
  18. Not really. Like i said before above: when we hired the new GM and manager we obviously didnt do a good job of matching the personnel talent to the coach/GM. One thing is to cut aging veterans and purge the roster from the top down but to trade away the young pieces? We are setting ourselves back. I hope im wrong.
  19. I think my main point is as follows: Darby, Watkins, Ragland are all 24 and under. Not even in their prime yet. All of them were 1st/2nd round picks. If I have a manager/GM interview with me and tell me that his idea of "cleaning house" is getting rid of the young players, I'd have a slight issue with that. In my opinion, an NFL franchise can't operate in this manner. This team wasn't 2-14. With Rex Ryan (who is a crap coach), we were a .500 team. Did ownership ever ask the potential new GM what he thought of the players on the team? Did that question ever come up?
  20. Watkins, Darby, Ragland are all under 24. No sure how theyre dead weight. But instead we extend Eric Wood? I love Wood but hes no longer what he used to be. Haha. Go for it. I lost steam.
  21. You would hope that players selected in the first 2 rounds have enough talent to survive a coaching change.
  22. 1. We gave up a 2015 1st round pick and 2015 4th round pick to move up and get Watkins. He is gone 3yrs later and missed like 30% of his games. 2. Cyrus was our 2nd round pick in 2014. He is an abomination. 3. Our first pick in 2015 was 2nd round pick Darby. He is gone 2 years later. 4. Our 2nd pick in 2015, 3rd rounder John Miller, is barely a starter and may get beat out by Ducasse, who is horrible. 5. Our 3rd pick in 2015, 5th rounder Karlos Williams isn't even in the NFL anymore. So to recap: We missed on our 2014 1st round pick; we gave up our 2015 1st round pick; we missed on our 2014 2nd round pick; we missed on our 2015 2nd round pick; we missed on our 2015 3rd round pick. The 2014-2015 draft classes have set this team back at least 5 years. A blind monkey could have thrown darts at the draft board and had more success.
