I think the Europeans should fight and fund their own battles. Its 79 years since WW2 ended. The US military has committed troops and equipment funded almost entirely by the US taxpayer to the tune of trillions of dollars to defend Europe. Let them fund their own defense. I can name a dozen domestic priorities that can use those funds for a better purpose, a purpose to address the needs of Americans. Meanwhile, Congress of both parties obviously doesn't work for the American taxpayer which begs the question who do they work for? Looks like defense contractors, the Pentagon, and the Intelligence community. Time for a new vision. That's why they're crapping their pants over the potential for Trump 2.0. He might derail their gravy train. That's all they care about. Truth is they don't care about Ukraine or Ukrainians or democracy. If they all die its just the business of Empire. We're not doing anything special here. We're just committing capital and resources to producing weapons. The Europeans can do that for themselves.

Hey I'm still stuck on the indictment and the connection between falsifying business records (with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof) but what other crime exactly? I get the concealment part with the NDA and the payments. But defraud whom? And what other crime? Election interference? Are candidates obligated to divulge every detail of their lives to the voting public? Even that George Santos guy is out running free and clear. Why isn't Bragg after that dude? Because he's not running for President against the DA political party's candidate? Yeah, that's it!

It takes about 12 to 15 years from initial planning to operating for a nuclear power plant. And there's talk of reviving the domestic uranium mining sector but its just talk with regulations and environmental groups blocking re-starting or developing projects. Uranium company share prices have taken off but I think those investors will soon be disappointed by actual events. And this administration isn't going to piss off any core constituency of environmental groups to revive the nuclear power industry. So 4 more years of clown show Biden puts off a serious program until at least 2029.

Would you consider corruption to be States diverting funds for other uses with a nod and a wink from the Feds? This could be another of those situations where an investigation by DA Bragg would be prudent into the potential of "falsifying business records".

I think the plan, if there is indeed a plan, lacks what is customarily called "oversight". Sure they spent $7.5 billion so who can tell us what amount of money each State received and what they did with it? The folks handing out the cash at the Federal level have accountability for monitoring and measuring the implementation of the State efforts. And although the program is executed at the State level it doesn't give the Federal government an excuse to throw up their hands and say its out of our control. Its not.

They were booing and cheering. So they don't agree on everything? The Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver sounds like somebody progressives would prefer to Biden.

Running on addressing income inequality won't be in the cards for Biden. He's out telling everybody the system is set up to screw them. Blacks, Hispanics, the poor, the working person, everybody. You all have no chance at success. But hey Joe, you are the system!

The way these politicians throw $100k's of what we must assume is taxpayer money around like there's no tomorrow gives you an insight into why they take threats to their racket very seriously. The corruption is mind-boggling.

Technology and innovation are taking the future in a very different direction. Automation has replaced many low value tasks and AI has the potential to replace and leverage many skilled tasks too. Bigger populations is not better. This belief assume resources are infinite. They are not. All that approach guarantees is the consumption of more and greater levels resources which are finite and many subject to depletion. The key to a thriving ecomomy is productivity at higher levels of output. Mass import of more unskilled workers is not the path to prosperity. You want to import millions of engineers and scientists and skilled craftsman like electricians? Let's do that. What you endorse is bringing in more people that consume way more than they produce. It's like running a business where you sell a dollar for fifty cents. Or our current less productive economy where we incur about 3 1/2 dollars of debt to produce 1 dollar of "growth". That's not productive, efficient, or desirable.

That's the excuse and a myth used to enact a lot of bad policy decisions. It hurts American workers. There is no shortage of unskilled labor available in America that can't fill job openings. Companies want to hire illegals so they can pay them less than minimum wage and in many cases pay them "under-the-table" while avoiding payroll taxes and other costs like healthcare which then puts the burden on Medicaid and other taxpayer provided assistance. Add in the cost of other social assistance programs used by immigrants at a higher rate than citizens. In the process a surplus of workers suppresses wages and benefits for the working poor. Its certainly not a win-win for American workers or the taxpayer. And companies needing skilled labor can sponsor employees through legal means through visa programs or do what many companies do is set up offshore operations or outsource some segments of their operations to overseas vendors.

The problem is that it was a terrible idea to open up the border to anyone that wanted to cross, use loopholes and interpretations in asylum application process to facilitate it, and have no plan or funding in place to handle the influx of people in any controlled and organized manner.
