  1. So why not end all the speculation and negative commentary by putting the entire issue to rest by submitting to a mental competency test?
  2. What is definitely Trump's fault was his naive and dumb reliance on, dependence on, and taking counsel from, the very swamp creatures he claimed would be drained from power and control. Everywhere in his administration where establishment actors bent on disrupting and sabatogong any reform or transformation effort. That was his fault. I wonder if he's learned anything from that experience or if a second term will be a repeat?
  3. Wow what? My point is perspective. I'm certain the people handing out those convictions felt they were just doing their jobs no different than Alvin Bragg.
  4. Did you know that both Alexei Navalny and Nelson Mandela were known felons, charged, tried, and convicted by official court proceedings based on the rule of law?
  5. These professional women's basketball players jealous of the attention Clark is getting are missing the big picture. Its in their best interests to put their emotions aside and think of the implications beyond the limelight. What all this attention does is enhance the overall popularity of the league. Which can bring more fans to the areas and more eyes on the broadcasts. Which in turn can lead to higher revenues for the league and much higher paychecks for the players.
  6. I haven't seen or noticed the last several Star Wars movies. The last one I did watch several years ago was a boring and unentertaining dud. I understand subsequent movies were worse. Fans of the series want action and entertainment consistent with the original concepts of George Lucas. Not some gayed-up Disney cult indoctrination film or lectures and op-ed teaching moments about diversity and other lib themes. Just boring.
  7. Good or bad, I don't recall it being a suggestion. I think the correct term was mandatory. Or else. Mandatory masks, mandatory distancing, mandatory lockdowns, mandatory closures, mandatory vaccination. Those and other "suggestions" based on unsupported "science".
  8. If I put 30,000 Marines on the border it's shut.
  9. This EO on the border is purely for show. There won't be any enforcement mechanism and Mexico won't cooperate.
  10. And just maybe somebody should keep an eye on Mr Raskin too? Who says he's "clean"?
  11. Joe was doing his best Montgomery Burns immitation. Excellent work Smithers.
  12. I believe its incorrect that the law was applied elsewhere in the same way. As I understood previous applications the defendant was charged with a subsequent criminal violation where falsifying business records either facilitated or concealed a criminal act. In this case there was no underlying crime on any of the 34 counts. For example, falsifying business records to conceal money laundering, or avoiding taxes, or interfering with an election. In every one of those other cases the defendant was charged with a criminal violation in addition to falsifying business records. None of the 34 counts listed that offense in the indictment. And legally if you're not charged how can't be convicted? At least in a legitimate American court. In the other cases the defendant was charged and convicted of falsifying business records and another crime. Trump was not convicted of any other crime. Just a documentation violation. The judge more or less instructed the jury to pick one, any one of several potential subsequent crimes. It was left to the imagination of the jury to decide for each of them just what the underlying crime was here and whether or not the defendant was guilty of it. Just what each juror believed Trump was guilty of as a result of falsifying business record is unclear as there is no record of an indictment or verdict on what I can only call an imaginary indictment count. Maybe a juror or two believed falsifying business records facilitated the concealment of a murder or two? While I jest, based on the judges instructions that would have been acceptable. This conviction gets tossed, 100% certain. But the Democrats got what they wanted. A shady and abusive application of the legal system to tie up the other parties Presidential candidate. Interfering with the election.
  13. Well the crooked judge wouldn't allow the FEC expert witness to testify in court that what Trump did was in no way a violation of election rules, regulations, or law and that that was the position of the commission when they declined to take up the issue. Heaven forbid the jury heard that. 100% certain te conviction is overturned.
  14. Not to worry. It's a 100% certainty the conviction will be overturned. All the conspirators in the North Korea like show trials know this too. It's a gamble they were willing to take that the convicted felon theme would be enough for them to cling to.power. Retaining control would enable them to avoid any consequences from their Kangaroo justice act. But if Trump wins they might be screwed.
  15. Do you think this is going to finally convince compliant go along to get along Republicans to stop playing footsie with the progressive liberals?
  16. The verdict was no surprise based on the composition of the jury, what evidence and testimony was allowed and not allowed, and the improper handling of the case by a judge hand picked to guarantee a guilty verdict. No way it holds up on appeal. Biden's team got what they wanted but be careful what you wish for.
  17. Dear Representative Raskin. You can argue all you'd like. But please refer to the US Constitution for insights into the "separation of powers" defined by the articles. The DOJ has no say on what SCOTUS judges hear what cases.
  18. You can't play the role of outsider fighting the system saying blacks are victims of the system when you're in charge of the system.
  19. If you want to define "appeasement" as negotiation and compromise vs. getting your way with everything while demanding everyone follow your rules or else then go ahead. And this isn't the depression era 1930's. Its the 2020's and there are far more differences between that time and today than there are similarities. So its a false comparison that leads to incorrect choices.
  20. Ukraine isn't and never was our ally. Its a paid bribe to the country's leaders for an arrangement of convenience and a pawn to be sacrificed in an effort against Russia with a goal of inhibiting any economic and political integration of Western Europe and Russia. A failed effort. Its severely damaged the economies of western Europe and overall done more to weaken our side than the enemy. Its facilitated an arrangement of necessity between China and Russia. 2 against 1. You tell me where in the world our influence is greater now than when Biden took office? Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America? None of those places. You better wake up from your obsession with Putin and take a look around. We're screwed and this crew of Democrats and Republicans in Washington have no clue.
  21. You're not seeing it right. You lack the ability to see the situation objectively. My minding your own business approach is better because our meddling and interference in Ukraine's internal affairs through the efforts of Nuland created the conditions for the conflict. Once she resumed her duties at State in 2021 to pick up where they left off when Obama left office it was clearly telegraphed, at least to me, that a conflict was coming. You can disagree, and I'm sure you will, but that's only because you refuse to accept the first punch was thrown before the Russians made their move. The conditions for war started when the Maidan coup removed the President. I guess doing it differently and allowing 500K people that are now dead to live their lives doesn't appeal to you.
  22. For one, the funds in this case were not campaign monies. The funds were from private sources obtained through legal means. 2nd, these charges are not brought by DOJ. So exactly what campaign finance law is Trump accused of violating under the Bragg indictments? None of the 34 counts mentions anything. And even if it did, those are Federal campaign law violations and the State's jurisdiction over such violations is suspect. This case is bogus and the judge is as crooked as they come.
  23. I'm concerned with what's best for Americans. Our freedoms, our country. I'm not concerned with babysitting every arrangement and dispute between every other country on the planet. They're fully capable of making decisions and holding discussions and handling their affairs without our help or interference. I'm not going to support the approach we base every strategic and tactical decision and policy on what is good or not good for Putin. Its what's good for us that matters. Basing your policies on what's good or not good for a foe and ignoring your own needs is for lack of a better word, STUPID.
  24. You might be able to coerce union leaders to say this but you won't hear this from their membership. By the way, FDR was the best union President.
  25. I think the Europeans should fight and fund their own battles. Its 79 years since WW2 ended. The US military has committed troops and equipment funded almost entirely by the US taxpayer to the tune of trillions of dollars to defend Europe. Let them fund their own defense. I can name a dozen domestic priorities that can use those funds for a better purpose, a purpose to address the needs of Americans. Meanwhile, Congress of both parties obviously doesn't work for the American taxpayer which begs the question who do they work for? Looks like defense contractors, the Pentagon, and the Intelligence community. Time for a new vision. That's why they're crapping their pants over the potential for Trump 2.0. He might derail their gravy train. That's all they care about. Truth is they don't care about Ukraine or Ukrainians or democracy. If they all die its just the business of Empire. We're not doing anything special here. We're just committing capital and resources to producing weapons. The Europeans can do that for themselves.
