  1. For me it's hardly an even fight betwen left vs. right media but instead a case of Fox vs. the entire cast of liberal legacy media outlets. Like 1 vs. 20 or so.
  2. Count by country of US military bases not counting CIA operations. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/us-overseas-military-bases-by-country See point number 2 - enforcing the petrodollar system. Nixon made this deal way back when with the Saudi's and OPEC. With world oil demand at around 104M bbl/Day at a low ball price of $60/bbl that's a total potential daily demand for 6,240,000,000 US dollars. Ask yourself what happens to all those dollars if settlement changes to local currencies, some other currency, gold or crypto? Where are all those dollars going to find a home? Massive inflation. So the military is there to enforce the system. Anyone trying to buck the system without permission after diplomatic and economic actions fail to persuade them to stop, places like Libya, Iraq, Iran, Syria, get treated to the full force of US military power.
  3. You could be asking why the US has something like 600 military bases in foreign countries around the world. And I'd answer that's how Empires work. As for the ME, guarding the oil fields in the region, enforcing the petrodollar trade settlement system, and inhibiting China from gaining a strategic footprint in the region.
  4. Because MAGA are illiterate hillbillies and unwashed masses of trouble making insurrectionists that own no stocks they don't care about the S&P 500 and probably don't know what that is anyway.
  5. Word is they've been trying to unload this plane on the open market for a few years but there are no takers. So gifting it is one of few other options. It's not a personal gift to Trump but rather a gift to the US government. If it was up to me, considering how much retrofit and upgrading that plane requires along with security and surveillance concerns I'd respectfully decline the "gift".
  6. Anyone paying attention to the conflict saw that coming when the Islamic fundamentalists al Qaeda linked group too over because that's what they do.
  7. The biggest racket for medical charges is the hospital. Its open season for billing. A doctor walks in and asks you how you're doing and checks your chart then submits an $800 charge to your insurance. And if any of them happen to be out of your insurance network then God have mercy on you. I guess those country club memberships and golf lessons for their 5 year old don't pay for themselves.
  8. Is not the government of South Africa carrying out a program of "land reform" which entails the confiscation of "white" owned and run farms and distribution of those properties to "native" blacks in the country? Let's guess where that leads. Lower farm output, higher food prices and shortages, starvation, civil unrest. I believe land redistribution is standard socialist/communist playbook policy.
  9. There are few independent thinkers on either side of the isle. Rare is the Senator or Representative that breaks rank on votes. Rarer still is bi-partisan collaboration. I suspect if Trump worked with Congressional leadership to legislate lower drug prices few to none Democrats would vote "yes". Because, well you know why. The dictator narrative prohibits the President from being viewed as following the Constitution.
  10. It's what people in the business call "negotiating".
  11. Nixon issued an executive order in August 1971 suspending the convertibility of the US dollar into gold ending the post-WW2 Breton Woods agreement which ushered in the current US dollar reserve fiat monetary system the world has been operating under for the last 54 years. I'd say that's the most impactful executive order in the history of the country. It's debatable whether any piece of legislation ever authorized through Congress has had such an impact. The entire world exists as it does today because of this EO.
  12. The government has negotiating power over drug coverage and pricing for Medicare and Medicaid but little over Commercial coverage. If you ask me the first thing I'd look at doing in the Commercial segment is bringing anti-competitive charges against insurers to force divestiture of PBM businesses. A couple being Optum Rx and CVS Caremark.
  13. If they do arrest this woman I'll give you 50 to 1 that Democrats immediately start a lie that the administration plans to send her to El Salvador.
  14. We all know its a stupid idea. That's the intent behind it. To distract and confuse the opposition, not his base. Trump makes some wild statement and the Democrats get triggered and go off and running with it. Its part of his routine like the childish name calling. If this was hockey instead of politics Trump would be an instigator or agitator type of player running around playing chippy and taking shots at the other team just on the edge of the rules and out of view of the officials. Then they retaliate and take a penalty or two.
  15. I for one have always believed Biden was a "fake" President damaged by cognitive decline and incapable of handling the duties of the job. And there were other actors working in the shadows wielding the presidential powers granted by the Constitution. But I don't see any reason at this point to publicly humiliate the guy by releasing the recording of the Hur interview. I'd rather any investigation focus on identifying who led and who collaborated in this soft-coup inside the government.
  16. What I find amusing, and somewhat interesting from a cultural perspective, about these protest groups and their members is how they seem to be totally oblivious to the concept of consequences. I expect like an unruly child that has never before been subjected to discipline for "bad" behavior they are surprised by the response of the adults in the room.
  17. I ran across this rather interesting investigative story on the origins of COVID. https://brownstone.org/articles/is-this-the-man-who-created-covid-19-in-faucis-us-lab/
  18. The idea to them isn't to uphold the Constitution its to follow ideological rulings and interpretations of the law by activist judges found by activist lawyers through judge shopping for the best jurisdiction and judge most likely to rule in their favor.
  19. Snobby know it all. It's for the money you moron.
  20. The church is speaking not so much from a humamitarian perspective but one of self-interest. Many of the migrants are Catholics from Latin countries. The church needs and wants new and expanded membership. That's it.
  21. Well I guess I'm just not the style aficionados that you well-to-do folks are here. In the case of designer clothes like Lauren, you're paying for the label, not the shirt. With the intent to project an image of sophistication and wealth. Its what us common folks call "snob appeal".
  22. That must be a very nice jacket for $628. And a $90 shirt? With or without tariffs, you can get better deals store/sites like Kohls or Macys. But if you're looking for an example of how the tariffs are hurting the average consumer you might want to cite a lower price point.
  23. She's demonstrating her qualifications for a promotion to DC District Court judge to party.
  24. The value of these "programs" lies with their capacity to keep democratic party foot soldiers gainfully employed between election cycles. They get activated every two years to support party candidates and when the election is over, go back to work on some worthless study or initiative. No more I guess.
  25. Moore looks like a good signing and adds another element to the Bills offense. I wouldn't go so far to say adding him makes the WR group a strength but it also means the group is no longer a major weakness either. My expectation is one or two of these guys, Samuel, Moore, Coleman, Palmer, outperforms this season. Add in Allen's MVP level play, a healthy Kincaid, and some additional flexibility in play calling and formations for Brady to work with and the situation things look very good. With Cook's status the only big negative left.
