Realistically - We would need to trade Lee Evans and use the extr 9 million to shore up our offensive live with legitimate NFL lineman. At least that way we run effectively and allow Edwards time to read the field. At best we're a mediocre offense at that point. Reed, Jackson, Roscoe and Hardy... that sounds about like Jacksonville WR core. Lynch and Freddy behind a real line could put up good numbers. We'd need to catch lightning in a bottle and draft an absolute Rookie of the Year for our definsive line. Our defense would have to be the best in the league to make up for our weak offense. Brady would need to bust his knee again.

What about seeing if Roscoe can throw a ball?

Fitzpatrick was the 14th rated QB in the 2005 draft class... by far the worst draft class I can remember. QB's ranked higher going into the draft: Aaron Rodgers, California Alex Smith, Utah Charlie Frye, Akron Jason Campbell, Auburn Kyle Orton, Purdue Andrew Walter, Arizona St. Adrian McPherson, Florida St. David Greene, Georgia Stefan LeFors, Louisville Dan Orlovsky, Connecticut Derek Anderson, Oregon St. Gino Guidugli, Cincinnati Jason White, Oklahoma Ryan Fitzpatrick, Harvard Not making that list, and selected just before Ryan Fitzpatrick......... Alex Smith is the product of being the best QB in a terrible draft. Unfortunately SF needed a QB and had the #1 Pick. That was brutal year to have a #1 pick. That said... Buffalo has drafted much better players (In my opinion), but the AFC East has been much more competitive than the NFC West in recent years.

See Dante Hall's career stats for a prediction of Roscoe's future. Now that we have Leodis returning too, Roscoe doesn't seem to be worth the contract. Without Leodis his value was argueable, because our offense needs every yard we can get.

Athletes typically file taxes in two states, if they reside in another state. Taxes get filed in the state of thier HOME games and where they reside the rest of the year. As far as I know there are two ways that athletes can prorate the income. The first is to prorate it by number of games... If someobody lived in Florida in the offseason and played for the Bills, they'd file 7/16ths of their income in NY and 9/16ths in Florida. The other option to figure out "Duty Days". They figure out how many days their duties were required (traning camps, preseason, season, playoffs, etc) and how many of thier duty days were spent in NY. Then they prorate the income respectively. Using the first method of "Games Played", it's to the players advantage that Buffalo plays one game in Toronto if they live in a state has lower income tax rates.

Unless it's contingent upon a new mutli-year contract, there's no way the Bills can give more than a 3rd... and even that is pushing it for one year of his services.

That's why I think they're dumping salaries... not necessarily to make a run, but to stay profitable in the current economy. Even with a payroll at 139 million, they only made a $12 million profit last year. Do you see attendence going up this season?... or do you see more sponsors? The best thing Ralph could do is sell the naming rights of the stadium to generate some extra income.

How much is he asking for? Cleveland avoided tagging him, because the price tag would have been over 6 million. I know he's currently making over 2 million, but I think his asking price must be substantially more. Scott is making less than one million this year... but he's not as good as Sean Jones.

He had Javon Walker in 2006 along with Rod Smith. Marshall was the #3 and the TE was Scheffler. 2007 Javon Walker was injurred most of the year. The leading recievers were Marshall, Stokely, and Scheffler. For what it's worth... 6.2 million buys Brandon Marshall's and Scheffler's current salaries plus an extra million.

6.2 million gets you a solid back up, a quality offensive lineman, and another reciever.

Should we factor in the 6.2 million dollar difference in price tag? I'll take Edwards plus the money.

I think they're pretty much washes... Nearly identical QB ratings, yards per attempt and INTs per attempt. Cutler was sacked far less, despite attempting 300 more passes. I'll wait to really bash on Edwards until after this season. He did look different after the concussion this season, but Cutler looked pretty sh------- two seasons ago playing with Diabetes. Lets see if Edwards can clear the cobwebs and step up this season.

Amazing how much our D-line is making.... Kind of like Wall Street bonuses.
