Bills still have 7 major holes.
thebandit27 replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as the final 53-man roster goes, I see 12 spots that need to be filled by players not currently under contract: QB1 WR2 WR5 (assuming one of Reilly or Streater wins the WR6 job) RG competition RT competition C2 DT3 Mike LB Sam LB2 Slot CB1 Boundary CB3 S4 They've got a lot of work left to do. -
Not saying much considering it's a field of one

Very close!

Jordy to Raiders, Crabtree cut
thebandit27 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Crabtree goes back to the '9ers--where he has familiarity--to play with Jimmy G... ...and to face Talib 2x/year -
I feel like we're in lockstep on this class for the most part. Any one of these guys would fit as a "I'm willing to miss on this kid" type of prospect.
-
Seriously though, there really might be something to this kid. When he's good, he's really good. I just don't know that I could get comfortable enough with his inconsistency to pound the table for him.

Additions you like to see from here on out?
thebandit27 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm down for it, but I think Phillips, Leonard, and Crosby are going to go higher than that. It may end up something closer to: Draft 3: Rosen Draft 53: Leonard Draft 65: Derrick Nnadi Draft 96: Brian O'Neill Draft 121: Roc Thomas Draft 166: Tegray Scales -
He is NOT slow. He's actually very athletic--for the last 5 draft classes (2014-2018) Murphy has the 7th best 3-cone time among DLmen and LBs. Given the relative lack of EDGE talent in this year's draft, he'd be flirting with round 1 consideration. The concern about return from injury, however, is a salient point.

You could consider offering a 3rd for Tyrell Williams

Like I said: Buffalo had all of the leverage and could squeeze AJ into a team-friendly deal

Sal says UFA QB's was not the Bills plan
thebandit27 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But the DL guys didn't mind? Brutal take -
I had him as a top-50 pick that year; a classic 9-tech with his arm length and ability to bend. The only thing missing for me was a faster closing speed to the QB
-
Why does he remind you of Kelsay? They are not similar players at all. Same question for Shaq.

Agreed. Like I said: if there's any QB out there that's looking for a chance to start, we aren't at the top of the list; we are the list. -
Ross Tucker Says We're Likely Signing McCarron
thebandit27 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those only have the same meaning if you're looking for a reason to argue. You make it clear to McCarron that he's in pole position, and that the rookie has to outperform him in TC and preseason to get the job. If you equate that to promising him that he'll be the QB1 when the season starts, well, I simply don't see how that's the same. -

thebandit27 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You wouldn't "promise" him anything. Telling him that he would start the offseason program as their QB1 is a logical and appropriate gesture. He's earned the contract based upon his play in the NFL; you don't hand the job to a rookie without making him beat someone. I would've gone with "improved" or "augmented" -
Wow, that's a very cheap deal Figured
-
Didn't he have a PED suspension? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Ross Tucker Says We're Likely Signing McCarron
thebandit27 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, the difference would be that Buffalo could tell him with 100% honesty that he's going to enter their offseason program as the starter, and that anyone else they bring in would have to beat him out for the job. There isn't another NFL team that could tell him that right now and have it be taken seriously. -
Well, here you go BADOL: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/14/cowboys-give-david-irving-the-second-round-tender/ Offer them 96. He'd have to sign his tender, but you get him for less than $3M this year and the chance to extend him in short order if his other-worldly production level continues.

Carlos Hyde to the Brownies
thebandit27 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's still a bit early in the process, but my current position (which will probably change 2 dozen times between now and April 27th ) is that I think they want Darnold, and I think they'll move up to 2 to get him
