  1. I live near Philly. A Verizon installer was over Friday and saw all the Buffalo stuff everywhere. He proceeded to tell me how the Owens thing was starting up already and said that 'the way he said 81 was his number' was selfish and he already had a bad attitude. I tried to tell him the real situation, or how a hall of famer, especially in a merchandising age, should probably expect to have his number. Who knows, maybe Brandon told him it would be so when they agreed to terms. I know he has brought a lot on himself, but you can really see a lot of the pre judging that goes on and the media spin on this guy. Then you get a guy who isnt that far from that tree and he is treated like a god for all humans (Favre)
  2. after giving it a weekend of thought, my initial reaction to the numbers given in the report is not right. I think the Bills need to sign this guy.
  3. just to echo. Buffalo nightlife isnt a place for a young famous person to go out and be seen. Im not sure if that is TO's thing or not.
  4. I did, last week though. My friends and I are in the rockpile at that great price, and it is so worth it for us all to have fun on gamedays. Win or lose. I make the drive from Philly for games and made 6 last season. However, I wasnt too pumped about this coming season and was planning on attending 2 games maybe. Now I cant wait for the schedule to come out so I can plan a bunch of trips next fall.
  5. Maybe Fine can get some favorable coverage as well. Hopefully they will get the OK from TO before they throw to him though
  6. This is just great. The kind of big move the Bills need to make. I cant wait for the season now.
  7. I just heard the Pasquarelli interview about it. He sounds extremely bitter about Buffalo and bitter about TO. Past the point of sounding objective at all.
  8. they dont play dallas this season unfortunately.
  9. im in the minority, but signing TO would be the best thing the FO coulds possibly do. The 'good guy' 'character guy' act has done nothing for me or the Bills. Inject some piss and vinegar into this team. I am all for this. Maybe we will get one or 2 good years out of him, which gives us a much better chance of watching playoff football. Maybe the environment here would be good for TO and he could settle down with the Bills, who knows? I want T.O. in a Bills uniform.
  10. I knew someone would be a sucker.
  11. There better be something else.... something much more else..... But really. If this is their answer to the backup QB (history shows they likely will be asked to win a few games), this is the cheapest way to fill that role.
  12. You just cant make this stuff up. I thought a marketing/PR guy like Russ Brandon would be really good at paperwork. You fill your front office with goons, your franchise becomes a joke.
  13. in this case I would take Oher or Raji
  14. my friend and i were having these same thoughts a month ago. we stopped ourselves and backed off from the wishful thinking. it will hurt less
  15. thats one of the great things about the article. you could change a couple words here and there, and you could convince someone the thing was written 40 days ago, not 40 years ago. for me, someone who wasnt alive yet, it was fascinating to see that snapshot of that time period.
  16. http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...018/1/index.htm This article just oozes awesomeness. It is about the Buffalo sports landscape from January 1969. It starts out about the Knoxes, covers the city's pursuit of an MLB team, and then talks at length about how Ralph Wilson is threatening to take the Bills and move them to Seattle. And OJ may have given Ralph the leverage he needed! really though, if you have time and you are a Buffalo sports fan, this is a must read.
  17. I have a piece of turf used in the 91 Season I believe. It is mounted on a piece of plastic and the turf itself is about the size of a hockey puck. And I got it as a Christmas gift from my parents back then
  18. I keep going back and forth. Part of me would want to attend the Super Bowl. And the other part wants to be in Buffalo.
  19. I travel from Philly to attend games... (staying on Grand Island). I dont care where they play in WNY I will go. Near Grand Island would create a nightmare on the bridges. Changing the team's identity to Niagara sickens me though.
  20. We need someone to start a website, study the situation in Green Bay, come up with a realistic Public-Owned solution... Then take pledges from people who would be willing to buy shares in the team to reach a goal amount. This movement could get legs in the media, volunteers could be found, people could man a table at home games and other Buffalo-area events. Then you could put a nice report forth to the guys who could make it happen like kelly, Schumer, Kemp, Goodell, etc... I think Goodell said something before (maybe to Schumer?) leaving the door ajar to the possibility of the team being at least partially publically-owned.
  21. the grand island bridges would be miserable. and what about the awful smell of Niagara Falls?
  22. Im happy and proud for both of them. Looking past everything else. With no Ralph Wilson, there is no Bills and no TSW. We still do not know for sure what will happen with the team, so its tough to villify him yet. Maybe his enshrinement will create some good feelings for him and Buffalo.
  23. What really bothers me is: When a football analyst immitates/rips off Chris Berman. Like how they say the "Chargers" or the "Raiders"... or rip off one of his sayings. Adam Shine on Sirius is the worst. I cant listen to that station because of him. He is so bad, he grunts out random words in almost every sentence like Berman says the "Raiders" or "Chargers"
  24. I would have to say either th 69ers from te late 80's... Specifically, we will say the 88 team. Or the early 90's cowboys... Specifically the 92 team.
