  1. 11 of 12 2 lbs under post inspection is much more alarming than an over inflated one hypothetically slipping past the goalie.
  2. To me. It sounds like the Packers prepare their footballs at the 13.5 limit and push it. The refs upon inspection might detect one out of specification Not even in the same league as what seems to be the case here... Balls being altered 2 lb per Sq in less than standard after inspection.
  3. thats what this does. It brings into question a lot of things the more you think about it, and combined with the allegations of Spygate, and even some imagination and memory, you start to think..Whether its valid or not. That is where people go. Its the Patriots' fault. Like when someone mentioned that Arizona game a few years ago in bad weather when Warner was struggling, yet Brady had complete command... as well as many of Brady's other wins in the elements.
  4. that guy sums up my feelings pretty well
  5. If that is true, it seems like they would have an employee on the sideline who obtains the balls and "works" on them and then passes them back into rotation..... and they would somehow have to know which balls are "inflated" to use themselves. Thats a whole different ball of wax and perhaps far-fetched... but if true.
  6. yup. While possibly not fair, this stuff does bring the history and legacy into question. Also remember before 2007 how much of a big deal the media would make of Brady's weeklong preparation and studying "film". It was constant and nauseating. That talk dried up a great deal since then. this is what gets me. I remember the game at RWS maybe 2 years ago. The Pats ran like 2 plays out of the half and guessed correctly on what the defense was going to do every single time and scored on like 6 straight drives. People just chalked it up to "adjustments", but it just seems like they guessed correctly on a coinflip like 30 consecutive tries.
  7. I was reading similar stuff on the comments on ESPN articles.
  8. look at comments not here... like ESPN. Same things are echoed, including Pats fans who are voicing displeasure with their team
  9. you have to figure the refs were under the assumption and always are that the ball have been QCd. Their minds are concentrated on all the other stuff. Also maybe/probably had gloves on? Also they dont really grip the ball tightly. They also dont typically handle footballs all week every week like the players do, which explains why the Indy LB was able to detect it right away. Probably right when he corralled it and started to run.
  10. lol! Thats a gag article, right?
  11. just a quick browse on comments on espn articles and such... this 11 of 12 by 2lbs news has really changed the mood a great deal. No, it isnt only "Bills fans have an inferiority complex and are whining". There are actually a lot of Pats fans I see speaking out in disgust and embarrassment. The NFL (even though I cant see them come down hard) has got to be pissed.
  12. Im sure they appreciated and enjoyed a "sure-handed" Blount carrying the ball as well.
  13. ah, the everybody does it defense.
  14. There are a lot of things in there I disagree with and I think a lot of his/her numbers aren't well calculated... But as far as the UB stuff. You have to wonder what the future holds for that program. They would make a great Pitt-like tenant if they could get into a better conference. I do not think the American or Big10 would scoff at the WNY media market. I would also think this "One Buffalo" thing would love a higher profile NCAA Football program to have in the fold, especially if they play Penn State. The big question is will people support it and come out? Watch on TV? Its questionable. Certainly not with the existing stadium. That place makes football unwatchable. I like the MAC and cant stomach it. I also dont think the Bills having inaccessible pricing (if it happens to that degree) would trickle common fans to the Bulls. It would have to be a much bigger reason than just that, and Im not sure if Buffalo would support NCAA football... (I certainly would). The Leafs are really expensive... but you see the Marlies struggle with attendance as well as the OHL teams there (one just skipped town for North Bay). I wonder if they would do a dry run or 2 at a new facility. Like a neutral site game between Penn State and Syracuse or something of that sort to gauge how people would receive "real" NCAA football.
  15. I hate it. They do it in the NHL too. Its patronizing that they pretend to care and the announcers pretend there are strategies and such. Its stupid. Much rather have conference vs conference. Heck, just make it flag football and televise a quick weekend tournament at the Superbowl site and have All-Division teams my preference would be Do a TV special a week before the Superbowl. Name an all-pro team. 1st and 2nd team. each conference maybe. Name all the award winners. Maybe make a couple additional awards and name them like NCAA or NHL has. If possible, have some sort of skills competition at the Super Bowl site. Maybe include celebrities. Just loose and fun. Season in review Give away a few free trips to the Superbowl but make it so people need to be watching to win. Like scan a bar code on the TV within a certain amount of time.
  16. I agree with you... but do you believe it stops there though? There is smoke, and a history. Who knows how many "small" advantages they take... summed up becomes a huge advantage. Like 40 straight meaningful AFC wins at home with a team that isn't really good on paper in a league with parity. I would say the enormously high percentage of "fortunate" play calling in games I saw this season vs Cincinnati, Denver, and Indy 2x... even Baltimore can and should and could raise skepticism.
  17. http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/2014/12/08/pegulas-open-up-about-vision-for-one-buffalo.html?page=2 I would assume that is the parking areas to the east of the Harbor Center?
  18. yeah, wait until the renewal cutoff happens. Keep your eyes open though. Im thinking with Pegulas and Rex, Seasons are going to fly off the shelf. It wont hurt to contact a ticket rep now and express interest. Again, keep your eyes open for when they become available.
  19. it reminded me a great deal of the Bills/Cowboys MNF game. I It was soul crushing and required a specific sequence of poor game management combined with odd plays that all played out a certain way to squeak out the result. I couldnt imagine losing like that in a Conference Championship game.
  20. here is a good article from before he got hurt that runs a (crude) comparison between Crosby's last year with Rimouski and McDavid's season. Itll get the "want" flowing. http://www.lfpress.com/2014/11/04/erie-otters-star-connor-mcdavid-may-be-better-than-sidney-crosby-at-age-17
  21. I want to hang them over this... but the fact is, seeing how bad the team has been, it would be tough to corral his personality in Buffalo. Even with a Championship Caliber team, Seattle has their hands full. The overall fact that they kept churning these Running Backs without enriching the rest of the team is what is maddening. Henry, McGahee, Lynch, Spiller. Also, wasnt there a report that Green Bay wanted to bid on him but Buddy sent him to Seattle without allowing Green Bay to maybe offer a 3rd or a 2nd?
  22. makes me very happy we have Rex Ryan
  23. Yes. He is better than Eichel. He is the complete package. Motor, compete, hands, head, and skating speed. His size is also coming along nicely. As far as the WJC, you had McDavid who was 17, coming off an injury and months off... facing 19-20 year olds. The top ones in the world. Domi was drafted 2 years ago and dominated. Set him back 2 years ago and he isnt even on the roster. McDavid also picked it up later when he got his legs back under him. Reinhart was awesome, but he also is a year older (a year from 15-19 is major developmentally), and he wasnt coming off months injury. The word on McDavid from fans to media to unnamed scouts and NHL executives is that he is a Crosby-like player and possibly even better. Worst case is he is a top 5 Center in the NHL.
  24. the Pegulas put out a statement that basically said "thanks but we got this"... making this study a waste of time and money
  25. to me.... if these things are still happening, Im sure it extends very much elsewhere in that outfit. The team overall really hasnt been that good, especially when you look at the injuries. Almost 40 straight meaningful home wins against the AFC. In a capped league with a good deal of parity... that seems pretty fishy. The recent cheating allegations ripped the bandaid off the old wound and I am again questioning all results. Part of it is hatred for the Patriots, but I think I would be really angry if I were different rivals. I have many Broncos and Eagles fans on my facebook feed and I see a lot of venting from them as well.
