  1. I still don't understand why brandon needs to be involved.
  2. I'm disappointed that a new team president wasn't introduced monday. Would have been a prime opportunity to be proactive and build the football program correctly from the top down. New president could have been proactive on marrone and if he wasn't his guy he would be here for the coach and gm search. IF I had to bet. We won't see any big changed happen. Schwartz will be slid over to hc and we can buckle up for the next round of failure. Schwartz will get fired or quit... and all this organizatons problems at the tice will be pinned on him, and we will enter yet another round of fail.
  3. Yup. "New start" 2 years ago and now it's a disfunctional rubble. Qb quits. Hand picked head coach quits. Qb situation is worse off than when ralph "stepped aside" Can't imagine our upcoming fa to eager to re-sign
  4. Sweep the front office. It's not even a little smoke anymore. It's a forest fire
  5. Seems to me a large factor must have been the disfunction between marrone and front office. The preseason reports about lifers, training staff etc... the shouting match (es). The selection of words during the season and the recent pc
  6. Is brandon going to be conducting this coach search too?
  7. The qb and coach voluntarily say thanks but no thanks. Can anything else scream louder this front office needs to be cleansed? come on.
  8. Tim Graham tweeted a week or 2 ago that brandon still had a lot of influence in the football dept
  9. Im pretty sure that was an unfounded and isolate Bucky Gleason rumor
  10. I think it's safe to say the nfl plans on sticking with goodell for awhile. They will almost certainly appoint someone with a law background next time
  11. If it's only business, then why is marrone and Whaley with brandon all the time (in Brandon's words), and he is all over football ops, everything goes through him, etc. I know the amount of influence he has... is just a giant endless circle of debate here... If brandon is effectively walled off quite obviously from football personnel. I wold be perfectly fine. I would think without being bothered with the pesky issues of the football team every day, brandon can concentrate more to further grow the non shared revenue. The club seats do appear to be rather empty the past few seasons
  12. I know we are terrible. As I said after the fact, why we were good for Brandon. The Raiders have been awful. Have finished 4th or 3rd every season since 2002. Thats an eternity for a capped league. Won 5 or less games in 10 of the last 12 seasons.
  13. Im sure he would like to keep control/say/involvement/whatever you want to call it over the football operations. If, in fact the Pegulas are going to reduce that role... and/or install someone new there. I could see Brandon leaving if he would be given a similar role as he had under Ralph Wilson.
  14. thats why he was "perfect" for here
  15. he is perfect for the Raiders. A garbage loser organization with terrible ownership who need to sell garbage to fans.
  16. Its not necessarily putting the worst players possibe on the ice. It was ripping the team down to the studs
  17. Im on board with that too. That is all I want. I get lumped in with "fire everyone", but I just want outside eyes to take control of the football operation
  18. Hughes gay the crappy punter
  19. so now we have zero NFL quarterbacks
  20. I cant believe Sal gets so much love here. The guy grates my nerves to no end. He yells loudly into the microphone as if it makes his point more valid. He also uses coaching 7 year olds as "experience" that makes him an expert on Pro football. Its embarrassing. Schopp is a good broadcaster. Football and NHL are a bit out of his wheelhouse though and sometimes he takes ill-informed stances that arent popular with die-hards. Bulldog IMO is OK and plays the part of "everyfan" well... but at times (kind of often) I feel he doesnt bring anything to the table. When he is solo, the show is like listening to grass grow. All those guys on WGR are stale I guess. They all admit all the time not to pay attention, not do homework, etc. They dont seem to love their jobs and eat/breathe/sleep sports. Thus arent experts. Then pair that up with the awful pool of people who call the shows. It makes for bad, repetitive sports radio. The only few guys who seem to really put a lot into it are: White, Cowler (sp), Bascaglia, and Sal. The delivery on Sal is a dealbreaker for me.
  21. yeah, to me its about the structure and hierarchy of the football department.... Not necessarily the people who are currently in it.
  22. yeah, I downplayed the demands quite a bit... But it is/would be a far cry from coaching where they live in the team offices, or GMs, scouts, etc. I cant see a Cowher, Dungy, or Gruden going into anything like that ever again. I could see those guys being content/happy where they are. Gruden seems giddy at where he is. Who knows though? There has to be a competitive itch there and some sort of urge to create "legacy". While Gruden could become a legendary broadcaster, Cowher is basically just running down the clock in the CBS studio.
  23. I really like the idea of installing cowher at the top... at least of the football ops. Especially if he has a pre-existing working relationship and respect with Whaley.
