  1. "NFL sources have told me about 60 nondisclosure agreements were distributed, but only 16 to 20 were signed and returned. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/08/08/nhl-owner-nba-founder-among-signed-bills-nondisclosure-agreement-hyatt-hotel-heirs-sniffing-around/ Now down to eight? and almost half of them from Canada...
  2. Its one thing to look great in practice, and quite another to look good at game time....just ask Trent. Seriously guys its only the first preseason game. I am laughing at Billy boy tho
  3. Good lord NO!! Think back to that Titans game with Fitz trying to run the 2 min drill, and he ran the absolutely worst version of a hurry up offense I've ever seen. Down by one point so all that was needed was a FG for the win. Bills ball on their own 20 with 1:03 to go. First pass 6 yards to Fred Jackson, still 1:03 to go. next pass to Chandler for 2 yards, 43 seconds to go Third down and 2...incomplete fourth down incomplete with 31 seconds left to go. What a joke, couldn't even get a first down against the #32 defense in the league. team usually give up passes up the middle, and Fitz kept dumping the ball off for short gains. Fitz
  4. Tuel = a younger, lesser version of Fitz that can't scramble very well, and was constantly injured in college. This coaching staff must think the kid is gold to not allow him to see the PS last year, and to not have a vet QB on the roster. He was a real reason the Bills lost at least two games last year, and should EJ have an injury this season we will find out if he truly is a decent backup....my thoughts are no. But then, I don't think I've ever seen another coaching staff go into a season with three QB's on the roster with almost no playing experience like the team did last year. Not invited to the scouting combine, an undrafted free agent 2nd year QB that won 4 of 26 games in college. I don't get the bromance.
  5. Reports are that Jim Kelly aligned himself with one of those new groups, no real details yet tho. Listen to Kirby, and relax willyas. The team isn't going anywhere.
  6. EJ is the starter, and CJ hasn't been traded yet. Pretty sure Marrone is recently frustrated with the offense because he wants them to play better, so they will win games!
  7. I watched the Mike Mayock talk about Mallett on NFL network during the Redskins- Patriots ongoing scrimmages. Mayock stated that Mallett always had an NFL arm, and that he looked good in there in place of Brady. That Mallett has become an NFL QB. The guy is like Brady in that he needs a good line in front of him to make things work. At this point i have to wonder if ole Bill is starting to lose confidence in Brady. Garoppolo looked like crap in throwing a bunch of INT's, and clearly isn't ready to step into the #2 spot. All I know right now is the Patriots look to have a decent backup QB should Brady get injured. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/2014/08/patriots_training_camp_notes_brady_mallett_shine.html
  8. On second thought about EJ only getting 7 attempts. The O line currently has some issues and I get that until those issues are solved the coaches don't want EJ fed to the wolves. Still, EJ needs more playing time then 2 series.
  9. Considering how little preseason work EJ got last season, I was kinda surprised to see him get only 7 attempts this game. Eli only had 7 attempts also, so it makes me wonder if the teams had something arranged as to how much time each unit would play. so as to not allow one unit to look horrendous against the other. Anyway. EJ needs more then 7 attempts per preseason game or he won't be ready in September. JMO
  10. From what I've seen, and read about Marrone recently is that he is clearly frustrated with the line, and offense. He expects them to be better then how they are currently performing, and so do we all. Henderson is playing so well at LT that I have to wonder if Glenn returns does Marrone keep playing both? Plus, the #2 & #5 picks are playing rather poorly recently, and their status remains unclear. Its going to interesting to see how Marrone handles things going forward this year because he realizes that should the team fail to win many games. Then his status as HC is in certain jeopardy. I gotta wonder if he is still happy with his choices for his NFL inexperienced assistant coaches.
  11. Looks great in camp, and in preseason... then vanishes once the season starts, 10 rec for 83 yards last year. If this kid is going to be a real 7/11, and always open. Then work him now so he can actually help during the regular season.
  12. This HoF game was like a scrimmage game, and its really to early to see how any offensive player will perform 4 weeks from now. EJ had a rather poor game in getting balls batted down, and he really didn't play all that much. 7 attempts is nothing, but going 2 of 7 was lame, he was playing against the Giants 1st string tho. EJ needs to get more playing time at this point IMO. Looking at Jeff Tuel and his college history, I just don't have faith this kid can ever be a winner. I see a lesser version of Fitz in Tuel, without the escape-ability or playing experience.
  13. Contrary to what some think this game is not huge, and in fact doesn't even count.
  14. Was Doug Marrone a rookie NFL HC? You bet! But, so was Chip kelly who led the Eagles to 10-6. Marrone has previous NFL experience as an NFL player, as an NFL assistant coach, as an NFL offensive coordinator for the Saints under Sean Payton. He was also hampered by a few things. A rookie GM, a rookie OC, a corps of rookie QB's and inexperienced staff. No QB coach or senior offensive assistant with NFL experience. I believe Marrone was also working under a different edict under owner Ralph Wilson. An owner who wanted to win, but also wanted his CEO to keep the team as profitable as possible to make the team more attractive for the next owner. I think things have changed for this season by adding some experienced offensive coaches, and trying to build a better line for the offense. I just gotta wonder if it isn't to little too late to save this regime. Any new owner will want to win asap, and anything other then at least 8-8 with some bright promise will probably not be good enough.
  15. Agree with this. Talley, Hull are also in my thoughts. Along with OG Jim Ritcher who played OG 14 years for Buffalo, and two more for Atlanta. 4x SB's, and played for both Chuck Knox & Marv Levy Only went to the pro bowl 2x tho. While talking about long shots I can't forget Chuck Knox who took the Rams, Bills, Seahawks to the playoffs. With 39 more victories them Marv, and 6th winning est HC in the NFL.
  16. It wasn't just the injuries to the secondary, as the starting LG, and replacement for Levitre graded as the very worst player in the entire NFL after 5 games. That includes Justin Rodgers! The bigger question to me is why was that scrub on the team to begin with, and what scouts thought that he and Colin Brown could get the job done? Injuries happen to every team, and that was Jauron's excuse year after year. Belchick loses brady and they still go 11-5. Now that you mention the Eagles, Chip Kelly instituted a new state of the art camp, diet & nutrition, exercise regime, workout pace. http://www.nfl.com/n...revent-injuries He took the craptastic Cleveland Browns to the playoffs with Vinnie Testastupid at QB. Cleveland in all their futility have yet to equal that 11-5 season from 2001. The point is that his teams showed improvements, as he took over a complete disaster 3-13 team and went 6-10 the very next year.
  17. I look at the 2013 season and see a multitude of critical mistakes from the Bills GM, HC, OC, and coaching staff. Those type of mistakes simply don't happen with good regimes, and Chip Kelly is a great comparison. One college to NFL HC coach went 6-10 and the other 10-6, and one actually had previous NFL experience in many areas. There is no question that the Bills had greater talent on the defense then the Eagles, and almost equal talent on offense. So, it all comes down to coaching / GM, and the Bills weren't even close in 2013. I honestly don't know why some here are even thinking about other teams coaches. What matters is what the Buffalo Bills do this season, and nothing else is of any concern. I'm hoping the new owner whomever it is will not tolerate any more losing. I know I'm probably the only one here, but if this staff doesn't hit at least 8-8, and show great promise I'd clean house from CEO to ball boys.
  18. Good stuff as usual Astro Better then Rodak telling us about Chris William's toe injury, or Chris Hairston's back injury
  19. At this point it looks like one bottle will be good enough for Hackett, along with two or three slim jims...one of them bitten. Not according to what I'm reading about Marrone, and his frustration with the offense. Right now the Bills D is killing the O. 8 sacks in 17 plays in series. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/team-report-buffalo-bills-115517731--nfl.html Yea well, I would love some 10-6 type freaking idiot for the Bills. From what I'm hearing about Kelly is that he has instituted state of the art camp in every aspect for his team. Diet & nutrition, exercise regime, workout pace. You do know that the Eagles didn't have one player land on IR last year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000256451/article/chip-kelly-conditioning-plan-helps-prevent-injuries http://mmqb.si.com/2014/07/29/training-camp-report-philadelphia-eagles/ "Kelly runs, by far, the most efficient practice in all of football. There is no wasted time on the field. I mean, why have guys standing around and watching when you do team drills side by side on the same field? And he’s also just smart. At one point, the offensive starters lined up against the entire defensive unit. At every defensive position, the four-deep roster was lined up, one behind the other at each position. As the offense was shifting and motioning, the defensive players went through their checks and calls. Each side of the ball only took a few steps into the play, but that’s the most important split second. By having the four-deep defense on the field, the less experienced players could mirror and learn from the players in front of them. That’s just smart. And it’s so simple. That’s the genius of Chip Kelly."
  20. I'm seeing about 8-8 right now. Things could change either way depending on how they do in the pre season. It doesn't bode well that Marrone is so frustrated with the offense, and the O line is in shambles with Glenn out. things could go horribly wrong should Glenn not make it back into the lineup anytime soon.
  21. The Iggles also had the #1 graded run blocking unit in the NFL last year. Jeez, they had an OG who graded (46.7),wowzer! I can see why Brown might have seen some success as an alternative to LeSean McCoy. Still, it doesn't explain why so many Bills fans think CJ is so easily replaced by someone who has done almost nothing in the NFL, and why that player is currently 4th string. Its very telling to me that Chip kelly tried to trade for Spiller, and equally telling that he traded away Brown. I'm hoping that CJ does well this year, and the bills sign him to a long term deal. I tend to appreciate the better players on the team.
