  1. Both the Seahawks, and Packers were 12-4 last year, and they played the conference championship in Seattle that ended in overtime. if the Packers beat the Bills they end up 13-3 with home field. Now think back to that one dropped pass by a wide open Jordy Nelson in that game.... Anyway, I can only dream McCarthy was the Bills HC, and Ted Thompson was the Bills GM.
  2. The Packers didn't just get lucky. It starts at the top. They hired the right men at the top for GM, and went from there. The GM hired a new HC in Mike McCarthy that had been the 49ers OC for one 4-12 season in 2005, and the Saints OC 2000-2004. GM Ted Thompson saw what he had in Aaron Rodgers before the guy even took the field, and many were chastising him for dumping Favre at that time. Thompson drafted his WR's in the second round, Gregg Jennings, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson. Good GM, good coaching, good players = good team.
  3. I think Marrone saw what I saw in Urbik, that at times he looks like a passable player as a pass blocker, and a horrid run blocker. Then falls on his face in big games. I also think Buddy Nix had great influence over the construction of the O line. "The front office has also bristled at how certain players are being used, sources said. Team executives believe tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, this year's second-round pick, warranted more of a long look this summer, were unhappy that emerging receiver Robert Woods was benched at times, and they were also at odds over guard Kraig Urbik, who the personnel side believes is a quality guard (he just received a contract extension a few years back) but who Marrone has soured on (the team explored trades for Urbik before roster cuts, league sources said)." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24695455/buffalo-tension-boils-over-in-shouting-match-for-marrone-bills-officials Needless to say the entire line was a disaster last year, and so was the coaching staff IMO. As I'm sure you all remember my constant complaining about both Marrone, and his OC Hackett. Lets not forget that if Marrone hadn't walked away he would still be the head coach, and all the bad assistant coaches would also still be here. Right now I'm trying to post a link to my downloads of Urbik in that Raider game with 6:21 to go in the first, and how a bum DT on a 2-12 team managed to shove the guy 5 yards into the backfield on a run play. (I'm not tech savvy) If anyone has a way to make gif of that play or post it here it would be greatly appreciated. It would show a big reason as to why I think Urbik should be gone. The simple truth is so far the only changes made to the line are an addition of a player with known mental problems at OG who could have a relapse at any time, and become useless to the team. Its clear that three player positions were in desperate need of upgrading. LG, RG, RT The team only upgraded one position so far, and with a "maybe" player at that. Dunno about the rest of you but it bothers me greatly that the weakest area of last years team has been mostly ignored in free agency so far.
  4. When PFF posted Cordy Glenn's grade of (+23) for 2013 fans here couldn't stop gushing about how good he is, and that number was more then accurate then. Now when the players get bad grades they must be taken with a grain of salt. Take a long hard look at those numbers because they don't lie. Urbik only had 9 game starts last season, and he played very poorly in a lot of games. My biggest problem with this player is he plays his worst in the big games. I agree with Kirby that the team still needs one to two quality starters for the line, and two would be ideal in my view. There was a strong reason why the bills made an attempt to sign RT Bryan Bulaga. Look at the numbers as those are for an overall grade, they don't reflect the actual RUN* blocking grades which are much worse. Try and put this into perspective from the other side of the line. Would any of you think it would be OK with a player on the defensive line with a negative grade at DT, or DE? The Bills have a 100 million dollar DE, and a 50 cent RT. A pro bowl DT, and 25 cent OG's. Thinking that a new coach is suddenly going to resurrect bums into passable quality players is more then ridiculous. I don't hold Marrone totally responsible for the play last year because he wanted Urbik gone, and the FO told him he was a quality player.
  5. So true! Almost unbelievable that so many fans think that by signing elite players in other positions other then the offensive line that suddenly the line will improve. The only upgrade to the line so far is an OG (mental patient) who is on thin ice, and with one major disruption and he is done. The Bills need a contingency plan for this player. The line was the weakest area of the team by far last year, and graded 30th overall, 32nd in run blocking. Yet this year the coaches want to build a "ground & pound" attack with the O line that in the previous season was last in the NFL in run blocking.... http://www.buffalorumblings.com/buffalo-bills-opinion/2015/3/16/8212941/buffalo-bills-offensive-line-nfl-free-agency-2015 I know I was hoping that with the addition of Greg Roman that the Bills would address building the line with some elite talent like the 49ers had the last few years to run their power rushing game, they didn't. OT Jake Long, OG Justin Blalock, C Stefen Wisniewski, and then I'd say the line improved appropriately if the Bills signed all three. Urbik, Williams should be gone, and the young players drafted last year should be the backups. McCoy, Harvin, Clay, Cassell, and none of those signings will matter if they don't upgrade at least two more positions on that line.
  6. THIS~ I read the article and came away with the exact same thought. If the guy doesn't care to relocate to LA from San Diego then why on earth would the man want to move his family across the country to a city known for its bad weather? Then, so far the Bills only signing for the O line is with a mental patient who may relapse at any minute! Pears is now in SF! (thank the lord)
  7. Glad to see the Bills are finally going to fill this need with a player who can both block, and catch. The best part is it takes a weapon away from a rival.
  8. I'll say! He graded about as poorly as the rookie RT in pass blocking and was still horribly bad at run blocking as usual. From what I saw Williams struggled before ending on IR, and he was the best Bills OG last year. If this is the best the Bills FO can do even as a back up then they are still in very bad shape on that line. There is a real reason as to why the Bills offered more money then Green Bay did to Bryan Bulaga. While I wholeheartedly agree that coaching can make a huge difference in certain situations. What it can't do is overcome bad talent, or lack thereof. You guys need to remember why Pears, Urbik looked average, and somewhat competent in Chan Gaileys offense. It was mostly because it was predicated on Fitz getting the ball out to the open receiver (usually Stevie) in 2 seconds. They also ran from shotgun spread formations. When the team needed a first and short they always threw because Gailey was smart enough to know who, and what he had on that line. Think back to that 2012 San Francisco game 3-45 loss, and how poorly the entire Bills offense was in that game against a good 49er team. The Seahawks beat them 17-50 that year too. They couldn't run, they couldn't pass. A bad Atlanta, and Tampa Bay team beat them in 2013. Last year while vying for a playoff spot they crap the bed against a 2-12 team. There was a reason the Bills O line was the weakest area of the team, and graded 30th overall, last in run blocking. If this team ever wants to actually compete for a playoff berth they need to rid themselves of near worthless players, and bring in quality talent. A top FA OG, and keep Richardson as backup to develop. The Bills currently have eight OG's on the roster, and I'm hoping that both Williams, and Urbik are gone by the time preseason starts. If a scrub like Antonio Smith can make big plays against #60. Then I hate to think of what Suh will do. Its time to move on from the waiver wire scrubs Buddy Nix acquired, and obtain some quality talent! Understand this...you can't build an offensive run first, power run attack with a player who can't run block to save his life.
  9. I see that the majority of the fans think that this is a good move to keep this player. However I don't! I think 5$ would be a waste of money on this bum. What so many fans fail to see is this player falls on his face during the big games, and what worse player can you have at any position then one that can't play his best when the chips are down? Go back and watch last years Raider game with playoff consideration on the line for the team, and then with 6:21 in the first QTR watch 5 Raiders on the D line rushing 7 Bills defenders. Then watch Raider DT Antonio Smith drive #60 5 yards into the backfield to tackle Spiller for a 5 yard loss. Urbik was one on one, and was overpowered at the line by a scrub DT on a 2-12 team. Smith had only 18 tackles all year, and the bum Urbik lets him make a big play for one of them. 13 rushes for 13 yards is all the Bills had in that game. How unbelievably pathetic!! As bad as Richardson was last season I didn't see him get driven 5 yards into the backfield, and allow a 5 yard loss in an important game. I'd rather see the position go to a younger, developing player. This season under Rex Ryan I was really hoping the team would move away from the bad one dimensional players, and invest in some quality talent. JMO
  10. I disagree with Rodak on the signing, and although we are all still awaiting the signing of a decent TE, another OG, and perhaps even an OT. I think Harvin takes over the return game from Spiller, and would be better then Hogan in the slot on most plays. Used in the right offense Harvin could be another big time play maker for Buffalo. I get a kick out of ESPN, and while Rodak slams the signing, right below his article there is an insider article stating Harvin has a pro bowl upside.
  11. I'm happy the Bills finally rid themselves of another one dimensional player who wasn't really that good in his best area of ability in pass catching. Seriously what good is a TE that would get thrown around like a rag doll by a LBer, and not an elite LBer either. Blocking is a key part of a TE's job, and all receivers / RB's need to block well. The Patriots might have picked him up but I doubt he ever sees the field in a Pats uni in a regular season game. As far as Harvin is concerned it looked like Rex had a handle on him last year so there is not much concern over that in my view.
  12. My point was that 3rd rounder will more then likely not be a starter, not make meaningful impact, and even if by some rare chance the Bills find a diamond in the rough. He may take some time to develop and learn his job. Look at last years draft, and notice that the 2nd rounder was so bad never saw the field all year. I think Mathis and McCoy go hand in hand because both have about the same career life span left in them. If the Bills are building a run first offense, and have the QB to only manage the game. It makes so much more sense to obtain a known quantity then to be "thinking" a player might make a good starter in the draft. The Bills need to fill that OG position to make the run game work, and what better way then to sign one of the very best at his position. Normally I wouldn't advocate trading away picks, its just that this player wasn't just elite two years ago. He was the very best OG in the league IMO. It might not matter anyway because i'm reading the Patriots are thinking of signing him. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/2015/03/12/report-patriots-eyeing-trade-for-eagles-guard-evan-mathis/jqUPPtbNehPz3EbhIFBDON/story.html
  13. Couple of things. No idea why some are up in arms over giving up a #3, as If Buffalo made great use of anything after the 2nd round the last 5 years. Here are the last 5 3rd rounders. 2010 Alex Carrington- nothing 2011 Kelvin Sheppard- trade bait 2012 TJ Graham-bust 2013 Marquise Goodwin- not much 2014 Preston Brown- not much This is a big reason as to why I was so adamant about giving up this years #1 for anything other then a QB. Buffalo's talent evaluation process "on offense" is very flawed in my view, and bringing in a known sure commodity like McCoy is a way around that. Just like Clay, and Mathis would be.
  14. I'm counting the days until the team rids themselves of those two, and Pears. The addition of Mathis and Incognito alone would upgrade the line immensely in terms of run blocking. Just to give some insight into the talent level of Mathis, he is to offensive guards as Shady McCoy is to running backs. The interior of the line would instantly go from a liability to an asset, and probably grade in the top ten this year even with Henderson at RT. JMO
  15. There aren't many fans around that realize just how good Mathis is at his position, or how important it is to have an elite player like him on the line. JMO
  16. Works for me Kirby Mathis graded almost a +50.0 (from PFF) two years ago, and was a big reason why Shady ran so well that year. The weakest area of the team last year was the offensive line, and I was really hoping that the Bills would make building an elite line a priority.
  17. The weakest area of the team by far was the 30th ranked offensive line, and should have been the first objective for this GM. Lets not forget the O line was Buddy Nix's primary priority in 2010, and then he did nothing. Doug Whaley seems to have the same priority as Nix. I'm not holding my breath waiting for him to build an elite O line unit. Incognito is a maybe / iffy player that night not be able to keep his mental problems in check. At this point I wouldn't be surprised to see Pears, Urbik, and Williams all back on the roster this year.
  18. You are very welcome.* Some of the known insiders (Kelly, Kirby) stated the primary reason Stevie was traded away was because he didn't run crisp routes, and was always freelancing to get open. The FO believed this was causing problems with EJ. I tend to believe most of what they post, so Its not baloney in my view. I also forgot to mention the bad trade for WR Mike Williams who was inactive most of the season, and then released. Another offensive miss step. Looking over the recent history of the drafts under Buddy Nix, and Doug Whaley on the offensive side of the ball. (2010) 5 offensive players drafted, one starter in CJ Spiller, ST player Marcus Easley. The team needed OT's, and not a RB when they already had Marshawn. (2011) 2 offensive players drafted none on roster. (2012) 5 offensive players drafted, one starter in Cordy Glenn. a trade up in the third for TJ Graham who was a bust. (2013) 5 offensive players drafted, one starter in Robert Woods. EJ drafted with a first round pick, and there is now talk of cutting him. 3rd rounder for Marquise Goodwin a total non factor (bust?) (2014) 4 offensive players drafted, two starters, one solid WR that required 3 draft picks to obtain, two firsts, and a fourth. the 2nd round OT looks like a bust, and the 7th round OT managed to start but played poorly. Nineteen offensive players drafted since 2010, and the result was five starters. Spiller will be going elsewhere so that's four, and the Bills should replace Henderson at RT this off season so that leaves three starters. This record looks abysmal to me in finding quality offensive talent. Another reason I think Whaley needs some help with the offensive side of things. I'm not ignoring the Woods, Watkins picks. Its just when I see the Packers draft a guy in the second round its Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb. The Packers didn't need to spend two first rounders on a WR, or 100 million on a pass rusher, as they find them in the draft like Clay Matthews. Let me say again that in order to find a WR playmaker the Bills FO / Whaley needed to trade up to obtain Sammy Watkins, and expend three draft picks, two firsts. Nobody in the scouting dept / FO/ GM saw the potential in Odell Beckham Jr, the potential in Kelvin Benjamin, the potential in Mike Evans? Mike Evans would have given them the needed play maker, and finally found that big red zone target they have been looking for for years. Even now the team is taking about finding a big target at WR. Plus the kid is a phenomenal blocker. This Franchise needs some serious help in evaluating offensive talent in my view, even if its just an offensive specialist in the scouting dept. In some of my posts since Polian turned down the job with Buffalo I've been advocating the Bills in hiring a current NFL GM and promoting him to team president. A Man like Green Bay Packers current GM Ted Thompson comes to mind. Most particularly because the man had the foresight to recognize the talent in Aaron Rodgers as an elite QB before he even played a down in the NFL. http://www.packers.com/team/staff/ted-thompson/7d1caee3-e8f2-4e20-b304-98064f608dbb I just want to see this team win a super bowl before the decade ends. * edit
  19. Actually promo its you that seems to be happy with all the losing and never wants changes. I see things on how they are, and not what I wish them to be. Its difficult for me to be optimistic when I see so many idiotic mistakes year after year before the season even starts. Things would be different if it were all about injuries or just bad luck. The main reason I even post in this forum is because I hate all the losing, and am just trying to shine some light on all the stupidity that transpires from people in the org making millions of dollars while failing at their jobs. My avatar / name / moniker is not directed at the fans in any way. Its directed at the lame coaching mistakes, hires, and decisions from the team / FO that have plagued this franchise for many seasons. Over the years I have pointed out the mistakes that Jauron made, that Gailey made, that Marrone made, and even now the mistakes Whaley is making. I realize Whaley is new in his job, and learning as he goes. I haven't said anything about firing the man, EVER! What I am advocating is giving the team some added football knowledge in the form of a team president. This will help take Russ Brandon, and Terry Pegula out of the football decision making. I think a big problem with the team recently was Doug's listening to that old goober Buddy Nix, and his lame philosophy on how to not to build the offensive line. Nix's philosophy= You can always move an OT inside to OG. (how did that work with Pears?) Size matters, and bigger is always better. (How did that work with 6'7'' 326lb OG Colin Brown?) Quality OG's are a dime a dozen, and can be found in the later rounds 4th thru 7th. Never spend a first round pick on an O linemen. How did all this work out for Mr. Show me the Baby! Seems to me it has screwed the Bills the last four years. ------- To the fans that think Freddy is done, think again. Source: #Bills will keep Fred Jackson. Told releasing him was not option. Contract re-structure was/is @wgrz
  20. Ya know what. "I" attribute that 9-7 season to two main factors. The first being QB Kyle Orton and him being undefeated against the NFC North division, Bears, Lions, Vikings, Packers. Orton was a godsend by going 7-5 in such a bad offense with such horrid, stupid coaches. Then you have the Bills #4 defense in the NFL coached by the man who shut down the leagues MVP in Aaron Rodgers. Jim Schwartz as an ex HC from the NFC North. Even then the Bills needed the miracles of an NFL kicker missing three FG's in Detroit. Kyle Orton making a last min amazing drive by throwing a TD with one second left on the clock against the Vikings. A Rodgers dropped pass to a wide open GB WR for a certain TD if he holds onto the ball. OT win against the Bears with a 38 yard run by Fredex, and a kick by Carpenter. Last years offense under Whaley was again very bad in being 18th passing, 25th rushing . #26th in three downs and out percentage. 26th in 3rd down conversion efficiency. 30th in red zone TD scoring. 24th in yards per first down attempt. How do you go from the #2 team in the NFL in rushing in 2013 to 25th in 2014 with the same RB's, and only one player change on the line? If Whaley gets credit for the #4 ranked defense he also gets credit for that crappy offense.
  21. I didn't even touch on the trade for RB Bryce Brown with a 4th round pick who was a non factor as a RB last season. Remind me again, what round pick did the Seahawks give the Bills for Lynch? Trading away Stevie Johnson because he didn't mesh well with EJ...only to see EJ benched after three games. Kyle Orton could have used a better receiving red zone threat (a guy who always found a way to get open) to help the Bills move out of that 30th ranked worst in the NFL at scoring TD's in the red zone. Paying so much for McCoy when he could have signed Spiller for almost half the cost, and Spiller would have been far more productive playing behind that line McCoy has had the last few years. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have quality players on the O line. Doug Whaley as GM.... Defense, near brilliant. Offense, not very good. ------- Dumping Fred Jackson to save 2 mill per is downright stupid. He is without question the teams best blocker at RB, and that blocking ability surpasses even the teams current TE's. While not as fast as he once was he certainly would be a big factor as a pass catching third down back. Plus the man is a team captain, and a locker room leader. Not to mention a fan favorite. Fredex still has some serious elusiveness in him, and that would have shown last year if the line wasn't as bad as it was.
  22. Allow me to share the view of events with Whaley as GM from my perspective. I'll leave the Marrone / Pettine / Schwartz hiring alone and focus on just the offense, and like I stated earlier I think Whaley has done a near brilliant job with the defensive side of things. I'll just discuss the offensive line. Its 2013, and Buddy Nix has stepped down as GM but stayed on with the team in a consultant role. LG Andy Levitre is testing the free agent market, and the Bills chose to let this 2009 second round pick walk with no compensation. Levitre graded as the teams best pass blocker, and while not a bad run blocker, he was only average. - The Bills then chose to replace Levitre with backup OG Colin Brown who was benched after five games into the 2013 season, and then released outright after six games. His backup OG in David Snow was also released at the same time. The reason Brown was released was because he graded as the worst OG in the NFL. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5362/colin-brown - The Bills then moved backup center Doug Legursky to LG, and he played out the season at that position. Grading about as bad as he had in his past with the Steelers as their worst linemen before he came to Buffalo as a FA in 2013. The Bills were exceedingly lucky to not have injuries on the line as they only had walkons off the street as replacements / backups. These moves might not have been so bad if the team still had Fitz at QB as he had a very quick release, and ability to find the open receiver in about 2 seconds. The problem is that the Bills had just drafted a QB and entered the season with basically three rookie QB's on the roster. The next off season the Bills dump Legursky because he was so bad, and didn't even retain him as a backup, and then they acquire the very worst OG / O line player from a bad St Louis Rams team. OG Chris Williams graded in the negative (-21.8) for his play in 2013, and he has a storied past history of oft being injured. While Legursky was bad, he didn't grade anywhere near as bad as Williams. Just to put their play / grades from PFF in perspective, Colin Brown graded at (-30.1), and Legursky graded at only (-12.5) Meanwhile the man they let walk in Andy Levitre graded at (+17.3) in as a 2013 free agent. In 2013 Cordy graded at (+23.0), and was looking like a stud LT. This past season he fell on his face due to poor play next to him, and the result is a grade of only (+6.5). Erik Pears at RG ended with a grade of (-25.0), and as bad as Pears graded I never saw him shoved 5 yards into the backfield like Urbik was on occasion. Now imagine if the Buffalo Bills attempted to build the defensive line with free agent bums, and waiver wire pickups that graded as some of the worst players in the NFL. While some were average at run stopping they were bad at pass rushing, or vice versa. The defense would really suck badly no matter who the linebackers or DB's were behind them. Its the same with the offense, only worse. The most valuable position on the field is the QB, and the player you most want to protect, and least want to see injured or running for his life is the QB. For whatever reason Doug Whaley has it in his head that the team can get by with bums, scrubs on the offensive line, and this is a big reason as to why the team fails to field a decent offense very year. The 2014 Buffalo Bills fielded the 30th ranked offensive line last year and with Richardson at OG they graded as the very worst. There was a distinct reason why the Bills finished with the offense ranked 18th in points, 26th in yards. The biggest problem I have with the current players on that is line is that they seem to play their worst in the biggest game of the season. Against the 2-12 Oakland Raiders they allowed themselves to be pushed around all over the field. 13 rushes for 13 yards....I mean WTF! says it all. With the playoffs on the line they all fell on their faces. NOW under Rex Ryan the Bills finally bring in OG Ritchie Incognito when he would have been a clear upgrade at either OG position, and possibly could have helped Buffalo secure a playoff berth last season. If you don't think the O line is important to the success of a team. Just about every team in the top 15 ranked O lines made the playoffs last season. ------------------------- In 2013 the Philadelphia Eagles fielded the #1 offensive line in the league with OG Evan Matthews grading at an incredible (+46.7), and is a huge reason why RB LeSean McCoy was the leading rusher in the league that year. Philly was also the #1 rushing team in the NFL that year, and while Buffalo was the #2 team in rushing the difference between what the teams accomplished that season is staggering. The Eagles finished 10-6, and made the playoffs with the 22nd ranked QB starting for them. They had the #4 offense in points, and the #2 offense in yards. In 2014 the Eagles finished with the #2 ranked offensive line in the league despite all the injuries on that line, as almost every player on that line was injured at some point. McCoy didn't have as good a year last season as he has had in the past, and many attribute that to all those injuries on the line. Now, how do you think McCoy will fare in Buffalo playing behind one of the worst lines in the league. I'm thinking he will look an awful lot like CJ Spiller dancing around trying to find a hole. The onus is on Whaley this year to finally build a decent quality offensive line to allow that 40 million dollar RB to make plays. Like I stated the Bills need two starting OG's, and a RT. Plus they need a TE who can actually block well, and not get thrown around like a rag doll. We shall see!!
  23. Probably a poor choice of words on my part in stating "it was all him". I came away from that draft thinking this was Whaleys choice for QB. Technically the team likes to state it was always a consensus pick, and they have been saying that since Marv was GM. Doug stated he personally scouted EJ, set up the 2013 draft process and board, and basically states in this video that if EJ is not the starter in three years then he will be looking for a new job. (watch the vid) http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/5/13/4328100/doug-whaley-ej-manuel-buddy-nix-buffalo-bills Anyway, I'm not campaigning for firing Doug Whaley. What I am attempting to do is remove the rose colored glasses from some fans who think Whaley has done a brilliant overall job, when in my opinion he clearly hasn't on offense. What I'm also attempting to point out is Whaley needs some serious help with the offensive acquisitions other then the current scouts. An experienced football man as team president is what I've been hoping the Bills to hire. If you want to be one of those eternally optimistic fans who sees nothing wrong with Whaley's offensive choices, then fine, as I'll leave you to your opinion.
  24. The coaching was bad, and that is despite the point because if Marrone hadn't chosen to opt out on his own, he, and Hackett would both be still in their respective jobs with the Bills. Whaley wouldn't have changed a thing on his own. The bigger issue, and picture here is that this GM, front office, scouting dept have been really bad at evaluating all offensive talent from QB to linemen, WR, and TE. If Whaley hadn't traded up for Watkins the Bills would have selected TE Eric Ebron. Better coaching can indeed make a difference on a team, and no question that the Bills offensive players should perform better under Greg Roman. Still, this is the third off season under this GM, and the line regressed in talent, no franchise QB. The line not upgraded properly yet. The way I see things is that Whaley needs some serious help in evaluating offensive talent. Plenty of moves can, and should be made to improve the offensive side in this years off season. TE, OG 2x, OT, QB. Perhaps Roman can give Whaley the proper insight needed to improve the player quality in offense this season. I still have serious doubts tho because their first choice for bridge QB was 1-10 Josh McCown, and settled for their second choice in Cassell. Not a good sign at all unless they were both proposed backups, and the real starting QB has yet to be acquired. We shall see.
  25. This team is going nowhere with Matt Cassell at QB. Henderson only started because they had nobody else, and he was one of the worst RT's in the league. Glenn fell on his face for much of last year, and so much so there is now talk of moving him to RT. If the team had a better option at LT he would be moved. The line still is in desperate need of three starters....after two seasons of free agents, drafts under Whaley. If Whaley gets a pass for EJ then he should not get credit for Woods either, and Woods had the exact same receptions as Watkins with 65. The difference was being ranked 21st in yards for Watkins vs 63rd in yards for Woods. The Bills STILL don't have that big WR red zone target they have been lacking for years! What slowed that offense last season was a distinct inability to run block, and pass block properly on the O line. Like that game against the Raiders that could have meant a playoff berth if the Bills could have rushed for more then 13 yards on 13 carries among other things. and nothing they do at RB will matter if they don't finally fix that line with quality players this off season! A bad first round choice at QB, a bad 2nd round choice at OT, and a WR the team needed to give up three picks, two first rounders to obtain. Whaley is really lucky that Polian turned down the job in Buffalo, and that the Bills still don't have an actual football man as president. JMO
