  1. or maybe TPegs lands a big fish and the new regime get things fixed quickly - it CAN BE DONE with the right leadership
  2. has anyone seen an inactive list for tonight ?
  3. Why not? We were beating Detroit on the field that day and had to settle for field goals.....AGAIN You are correct on the Minn game, I'll concede that. My point is that I don't like the straw man of "the games won we should have lost"....I'm focused on the games we GAVE AWAY (Houston & KC). Yes, every team (other than Jax & OAk) probably wins a couple games they should have lost - usually that's the mark of a team that's maturing
  4. I'm not playing that game of losable game relativism, thanks though Detroit & Minnesota are prime examples of games which were far closer than they should have been - but both are indicative of the point I made earlier about our NFL-worst red zone efficiencies
  5. the KC loss left me more angry with this team than at any point I can ever remember. I left the place where I was watching the game when the Bills were up 13-3 to go play golf (I am on the West Coast now, really enjoying these 10am starts..)) ) thinking to myself, despite the Brown fumble (arguably an absolutely perfect tomahawk chop by the KC DB) and blown red zone chances, that we were in control of the game, and should we lose a 10 point lead I wouldn't want to see that anyways.. damn it, I was right. Mistakes happen, like fumbles. But my concerns are greater than just losing that game. It was HOW we lost it, and continue to lose winnable games. To me it seems like Marrone & Hackett are watching some other game than us fans, who scream for obvious decisions to be made. The last sequence in which Orton threw 4 times to the end zone is a classic example. There were other plays to be had underneath, plenty of time to run the ball, and that's the garbage we got? We know the other problems: poor in-game management by Marrone, lack of discipline on the field, poor personnel decisions (i.e., Mike Williams), the Hackett disaster, etc. To me the only thing that would encourage is to know TPegs is bringing an outside consultant who will recommend we finally spend the $$ to hire a legit coach. That's the only thing which will improve this product and lead to the playoffs. It will be a miracle to keep this defense intact, but we have to find a way to do it. I normally get over a loss by Tuesday, but this one really has gotten under my skin.
  6. does the OP take into account quality of coaching/ in game management for his assessment? I agree the talent is there on both sides of the ball, with the OL being the only weak link (plus Orton is not elite; he is serviceable). Here are my examples of how this team is undermined by a poor coaching staff: >>> Hackett: he finally calls a halfway decent game yesterday until q4; he abandons the running game which had come out smoking in q3, and that last 4 downs with incomplete passes into the end zone was an utter abomination. It's like he has a script in front of him that he cannot deviate from, no matter what. >>> St. Conservative Doug - punting on 4th & 1 inside KC territory with a huge tight game - really??? >>> Tons of penalities at inopportune times = failure of discipline = that's on you Doug Look at yesterday; we were almost able to overcome self-inflicted wounds (Bryce & Leo fumbles) but this coaching staff did not put this team in a position to win
  7. sorry, yesterday was the second. The debacle at Houston was the first....
  8. WOW.....talk about a Monday morning hangover....
  9. good to see MW playing with such emotion after that sack
  10. Lee Smith - good for at least one critical penalty and /or a drop per game.
  11. speaking of Captain Obvious ......
  12. I saw this on Comcast sports with an interesting comment about our Bills: I like it http://xfinity.comcast.net/slideshow/sports-nfl2014week9/15/ 19. Buffalo Bills (5-3, Last Week: 17) Kyle Orton is leading a contending team halfway through the 2014 season, just like nobody on Earth predicted. The Bills enjoyed a bye this week, putting them one week closer to the return of Fred Jackson with a second-half schedule that includes several winnable games. I'm not sure they'll catch the Patriots, but this team is strangely for real
  13. hear hear - you took my jab with a sense of humor; kudos to you !!
  14. Disirregardless ? Huh ? Is that from an Ebonics dictionary?....
  15. sorry, my bad, I meant Mike Williams .....I forgot for a moment we have a few Williamses on this team
  16. with tomorrow being the NFL tradeline and OL (specifically, OG) being our Achilles heel, who on the current roster (looking at you, M Williams) could you see Whaley trying to move? More importantly, are there any viable OG assets out there.? If Whaley sees this team as objectively as I think we do here on TSW, this team, as it is currently constructed, is not poised for a playoff run. I see strength and talent at all positions except OG. We cannot run the ball, our playcalling is suspect and does not conceal our weaknesses, and sacks are on the rise with an immobile Orton at QB (his only glaring weakness IMO) What say you?
  17. check out Robert Woods on the same play, wide open in the middle of the end zone
  18. 1) 1)can we start a mass petition to get Urbik in at G ? 2) one way to stop Hackett from his inane playcalling ruining the talent we have- just let Orton audible or check out of the Hackett play call;I'm sure that will produce better outcomes than the predictable garbage we are seeing 3) if Marrone wants to last another year, he'd better start to see the same things we are and stop being so damn stubborn 4) speaking of Urbik, can we get our ace insider Joe B to find out why the hell Urbik can't replace one of the current disasters at G ?
  19. ++ on top of PP's post, do EJ's "physical tools" include routinely missing wide open receivers, horrible accuracy, and a throwing motion which looks like he is trying to heave a shot put
  20. Bills have to call a time out after getting the play called in late to the huddle and after realizing they had 13 men in the huddle.... oops, I mean handoff to CJ which was supposed to hit off LG/LT, but then inexplicably CJ doesn't see the open hole and bounces it outside where he is gang tackled for a 3 yd loss. Yeah, that was the first play against NE also.
  21. If his lack of intelligence and decision-making off the field is any indication, how do you expect him to pick up ANY NFL offense? No thanks, this schmuck has bad citizen written all over him.
  22. the potential problem with that is Marrone may balk at firing Hackett as he was brought along with Marrone from Syracuse, if I am not mistaken.....a la Wade Phillips refusing to can his ST coach/crony. For the life of me, I cannot understand why/how Marrone does not or cannot see the problems of this OC that all of us armchair QBs do......
  23. great stuff OP, spot-on funny while being very relevant. Let's see what type of the Pegulas turn out to be; as an earlier poster mentioned, Sunday's loss to NE exposed some very troubling fundamental issues with this team: does Marrone see the very same things that all of us outside the team plainly see (crappy OC game plan, dubious personnel mgm't, questionable in-game mgm't, etc, ad nauseum)? If he does see these things, why doesn't he make the necessary changes? if he does not, we are in deep deep do-do; why doesn't Marrone challenge his OC/DC to come up with better schemes (i.e., Hackett's misuse of Spiller, Schwartz's refusal to blitz NE esp. after Ridley was knocked out of the game) this defense cannot be expected to win every game for the team will Marrone lose the locker room if bad game plans are the norm and the depth of quality on this team continues to be squandered? when will we see a better disciplined team that does not continue with a self-implosion of penalties? that starts at the top if/when the Pegulas actually do hire an outside consultant, will they take action on whatever recommendations are made? will the Pegula have the $$ & influence to hire a top-notch, big-name head coach?
