  1. really?? how so? giving up 300 yds of offense to the Pats in 2H was a credit to the Bills D playing well ?
  2. sorry, but EJ does not give the threat of running at all anymore, not sure why you would make this statement yes, yes, I meant to correct myself but you beat me to it. We can agree EJ lacks vision big-time
  3. I called this play before it happened and, voila, it happened, so unfortunately I was correct. Hackett is so predictable it's sickening. sorry, but that threat does not threat any longer;not sure why you wold make this statement
  4. now on to other game-changing global events, back to you Skip .......
  5. wow, anything else to offer ??
  6. this thread is very timely, in that in a fit of boredom last night I ran a projection of how the rest of this year could play out, on paper ...... currently at 3-3 week 7 vs Minn, W gets us to 4-3 week 8 @ NYJ, W gets us to 5-3 week 9 BYE week 10 vs. KC, W gets us to 6-3 week 11 @ Miami, W gets us to 7-3 week 12 vs. NYJ, W gets us to 8-3 week 13 vs. Cleve, L makes it 8-4 week 14 @ Den, L makes it 8-5 week 15 vs. GB, W makes it 9-5 week 16 @ Oak, W makes it 10-5 week 17 @ NE, L = 10-6 finish Now, I know this is all on paper but I think this season is dictated by 3 things: 1) winning the winnable games, i.e., going 4-0 against Miami & the Jests; 2) do we see any improvement by Hackett as OC (doubtful) and personnel management by Marrone (doubtful); 3) injuries & continued lack of discipline (i.e., drive killing penalties) Given the Bills penchant for self-destruction and poor play-calling, I'll concede it will be an 8-8 finish.
  7. Hear hear Coach, it is really leaving me with doubts about the integrity of the game. It's gotten to the point that if I wasn't from Buffalo and a die-hard Bills fan, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about the NFL .... sorry, but you do realize today was Henderson's 6th career start? Are you being fair/realistic in your assessment? and how do you know what is inside hie mind?
  8. agree 100% on your last point, JohnC......it would be foolish to pin this loss on the poor officiating, but I have to say you nailed it re: the dimished enjoyment of watching the games. These phantom calls and non-calls are beginning to wear on me like they're part of an Oliver Stone conspiracy plot. Those OPI "push offs" sent me over the edge, and BTW Gronk was guilty of one big-time. The refs are over-legislating the game and it is becoming laughable.
  9. Good post mate, and thanks for citing the LaCanfora link- yes indeed there is reason for hope.....I like the idea of this: " If the Bills do decide to make changes, Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich, an increasingly hot coaching candidate who is a beloved former quarterback in Buffalo, could quickly emerge as a frontrunner."
  10. it's not only the lack of homework shown, it's 2 other things which drive me berserk: the horrible mispronunciations: i.e., Brad-ham the old news being presented weekly ad nauseum, i.e., FJax is the oldest RB in the NFL, he went to D3 Coe College, Fitz went to Harvard, blah blah blah
  11. On the topic of the great pre-game festivities planned for Sunday with new ownership, I'd like to see if anyone knows whether BuffaloBills.com will be shooting video of the pre-game celebration and then posting it for on-demand playback. For those of us out of towners who can't make it to the game, we are limited to catch a telecast which starts not a minute before 1pm unless the FOX studio show might have a short clip of the ceremonies at RWS, but I'd like to know that I can see the whole thing in its entirety..... GO BILLS !!!
  12. who knew ?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Obvious
  13. Are you absolutely serious ?.......
  14. Talk about hitting a softball - Gee, I don't know, is 30/43 or 70% accurate (69.8%) ??? do you want to ignore these numbers too?
  15. not as familiar as you claim.....the OP was making a point of where the Bills were on the field with the time remaining we had; and I agree, I don't see us winning TODAY'S game with EJ. You are comparing today with the first 2 ? that's apples & oranges.....
  16. hey Debbie Downer, I expected this post from a rookie, not a seasoned vet with 10k+ posts....
  17. you said it again and you are wrong - again. Orton was demonstrably better than EJ and was nowhere near as inept as the EJ of weeks 3-4. To say the Bills won without regard to who was behind center is also a huge stretch. This was a total team win - passing offense, D, and ST; credit to the Lions, we had no run game to speak of.
  18. great point = I took a mental note of that play and thought exactly the same thing; WWEJHD ?? (what would EJ have done....) I really think you are overemphasizing the $$ aspect of it; D line play doesn't always fit the script like that JohnC - I'm asking this question with sincerity; given our horrible guard play, is it fair to expect the coaches to dial up screen passes to CJ with guards who cannot get out in front/in space? I am all for finding ways to get CJ the ball in space and it seems to all of us coaches here on TSW want Hackett to do something smart with CJ. Do we consider yanking Pears? Has Urbik fallen as far as he appears to have? Can you imagine our play calling and offensive results if we had mobile who were stout at the point of attack? What's the consensus on Cyril to date? I give Marrone credit, he is not unwilling to make changes in the name of constant improvement.
  19. With all due respect, I don't think your interpretation of the logic here is logical at all; this game is a one game sample size; yes, the Bills won with Orton at QB today; #2 is a non sequitur and not I'm not sure #3 is what anyone is saying. On the contrary, the Bills IMHO would never have won this game if they let EJ throw 43 passes.
  20. huh? ....what game did you watch today ? ......
  21. would you go for 2 after a TD here?
  22. can the Bills file a protest after the game? would anything of consequence happen?
  23. is this a preseason game? it is painful to watch. Probably the worst game in the league today
