  1. Or Home Run Throw Forward.
  2. The Jets picked Texas WR Johnny "Lam" Jones with the SECOND overall pick in the 1980 draft. One pick later, the Bengals took Anthony Munoz. And with the 18th pick, the Redskins took the next available WR: Art Monk. Anyone wondering why the Bengals went to two SBs, the Redskins three, and the Jets none in the next decade or so, look no further.
  3. Hell, the best athlete I've ever seen was the little red blip on my old Mattel Football II when the battery had worn down to almost nothing.
  4. Did you ask him how he pronounces his last name?
  5. Maybe he was thinking of Gates Orlando. Now there's a blast from the past!
  6. wow, look at all the little trolls
  7. That wasn't fair. Most of the places he's played on his tour have been smaller arenas and theaters, not big hockey arenas. I have seen posters on brucespringsteen.net who attended shows in other places in addition to HSBC say that the attendance was about the same, it just looked smaller because the place was bigger. The same complaint (low attendance) was made by fans in Toronto at the ACC. They didn't sell the 300 levels or the 100/200 seats at either end of the arena. Floor was packed, and the 100s and club levels on both sides were packed. I'm not sure if that was really because of "Man in Black upgrades;" I really don't think they even TRIED to sell the whole place, and I doubt they even could have done so anywhere but Jersey and its environs. Personally, I'm fine if the "E-Street fans" stayed home. Nothing's worse at an acoustic show than hearing some beered-up headband-wearing mulletheads yelling "Born in the USAAAAAAAAAAA!"
  8. I will agree with that. I don't mind Bruce taking different approaches to familiar songs -- his rendition of Promised Land was just fantastic -- but that take on Reason was just horrible. Part of it was the acoustics, I think -- I have heard it sounded better in other venues on this tour. I particularly disliked it because in addition to being incomprehensible, it was way, way too long, and I'm surprised my daughter was patient enough to sit through it. Fortunately he more than made up for it. Sandy followed by Leap of Faith, State Trooper, Nebraska and Maria's Bed was one of the best five-song runs I have ever heard in my life.
  9. Where's the no-touch icing rule? I would have been all for that.
  10. What annoys me is all this talk now of how Crosby is going to save the Penguins. After Mario saved the Penguins at least three times, first by going there, then by buying the team, then by unretiring. Now Crosby's going to save them? Some things are better left unsaved.
  11. Jesus friggin Christ. Pittsburgh.
  12. Oh and surprise surprise the Mighty Ducks are the other team. Crosby to LA, anyone?
  13. PGH one of two left
  14. Mario's getting him
  15. Vancouver and Ottawa gone now
  16. Surprise surprise the Canadiens remain in the running
  17. WOW the Rangers got the 16th pick!
  18. So am I. Up to 16 now. This is friggin killing me.
  19. Oh was that the band that I slept through while waiting to see the Dead at Vernon Downs a couple of years ago?
  20. Get better you will, young Jedi. Practice you must. And here's a tip for the windmill. Stop going up the middle.
  21. That's actually one of the easier ones. Think billiards. And if you want to know how to hit #8 and #17, just remember this tip... you don't always have to be facing TOWARD the hole when you hit the ball.
  22. Why should we care what you think?
  23. Poetic justice would be having it come down to the last two envelopes at the press conference... Dallas and Buffalo. Bettman opens the next-to-last envelope and there's a big star on the card. Then again, the NHL would probably invoke some double-secret memo stating that when it got down to two envelopes, the first one opened would get the first pick.
