Speaking of Hebrew National, their salami is outstanding. Different from normal salami.

Nathan's Famous are all beef I think. Very good dog. Frey's are good also and yes, as someone mentioned their bologna is good. Prefer Zweigles all beef bologna though. Tops charges $5.99 lb. which IMO is a lot for bologna.

With the injuries around the league I thought it was strange Runyan hadn't signed somewhere yet. He may be waiting this one out to see if he can catch on with a Super Bowl contender.

Agreed...you can't win many games without one. -
Leodis McKelvin's property vandalized
Watching since 1964 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw this on SI today. ---------------------------------------------------------- "On another note, Silver said he wasn't surprised that Bills fans vandalized Leodis McKelvin's house. Silver said when he writes negative things about Buffalo, the team's fans threaten him." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/danpatric...l#ixzz0RHxRBkRe -
The Bills voiced confidence in their new left tackle a day after releasing veteran Langston Walker. Bell practiced fully for the first time Wednesday since straining his back two weeks ago. “He’s very athletic,” said Bills offensive line coach Sean Kugler. “He has the ability to recover when he is out of position. He’s a competitive kid, and he works at it. He loves the game of football, and those are the guys we’re moving forward with.” http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/790614.html Seems like Kugler was telling us why certain OL aren't here anymore.

Why do I bother tuning in to WGR55

Brad Riter Show from 4-7 www.bradriter.com listen live or on the radio 1230 or 1340 It was good to hear real football talk yesterday with Ruben Brown on the show. -
44 is one of my favorite numbers. Years ago 44 was a popular number for the featured back in the NFL. Now its seems to be worn by fullbacks who mainly just block. It seems to me John Riggins and the late John Stephens were the last featured backs to wear it. The other way of looking at it for those who don't want to see anyone wear it is at least Dubenion gets mentioned because of Omon wearing it, and people may remember Albert's accomplishments when they see it worn.

S & B remind me of another pair of AM radio employees, Herb Tarlek and Les Nessman of WKRP. They also thought they were pretty smart. But their employer described them as 'obtuse' and 'addle-minded' (in this very funny episode). The good news was it only cost them $5 each to find that out! http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi976355353/

Does anyone else think we're thin at backup G/C?
Watching since 1964 replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares about that? Alot of people. Just because we're thin at starting tackle doesn't lessen the importance of people who can come in play if these rookies get hurt. If you have to start rookies at guard, you're real thin at guard. -

Thanks Tim. Trivia-John Henry Johnson ran for over 1000 yds in a 14 game season at age 35. -

Here's a pic of the single-bar facemask being worn by the very tough HOF FB John Henry Johnson. http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/member.aspx?PLAYER_ID=106 -
Thanks for posting all the great pics and info.

The Rex-a-Roarus said this when the Jets hired him... "My dad's considered one of the greatest defensive minds in the league. I'm not there yet," the son said. "But I want to be a better head coach than my dad. I'm not afraid to say it." "I think our fans are part of our defense in particular," he said. "Obviously, they're a part of our whole team, but you can see the value of your fans in how you play defense at home. I bring this up because I'm excited about this opportunity. This is going to be great. This is a great marriage. The style of defense we're going to play with our fans — whoooo, it's going to be rough on people." __________________________________ Full story here. http://www.newyorkjets.com/blog/posts/917-...a-fans-head-on-

What's neat is that its not personal with Ryan (I don't think) which elevates it to a higher level than the Mangini-BB feud and the players will buy into it this time IMO. Ryan is just very matter of fact about it, but extremely confident, about what the J-E-T-S are gonna do. I think they will really beat each other up...good for us!

Lets Give the Bills & TO some credit

'2' considers someone a good teammate only if they agree with him. More important than ANYTHING to him is being the center of attention. Following rules does not get him attention, so he causes trouble since that's what it takes. He's messed up personally, I'm not judging him, the evidence does that. Like one columnist said, 'he's built like Tarzan, but he plays like Jane.' No mental toughness, that's why blows up at every little thing. Putting faith in any person who has acted like this for years always leads to disappointment. This is not a team first guy, so realistically can it go well here? People say its only a one year deal. But the wreckage he leaves lasts another year at least. Why, because he turns teammates and an organization against one another. Being a fan since 1964, I hope against hope it goes well here though. -
You're right, that was the best IMO. I'm glad you brought that up, I forgot they were on together.

The thread started out with a Bills fan/Schopp fan getting real upset at Schopps' attitude about having to talk about the Bills. All the non-Schoppers here have stated is that they don't like the guy and some valid reasons why which of course are ignored by Schopps' fans. We accept that. We haven't said you must stop listening to S & B. What I disagree with is Schopp fans telling us Schopps style works. Not for us it doesn't. And you're not going to convince us we need to accept it. Don't assume we want Dennis Williams either. Now his Channel 4 replacement John Murphy did well on the radio obviously. That kinda guy I'd listen to.

There are plenty of sports talk call in shows that get very good ratings without the host being rude and condescending to the listeners/callers.
