  1. You've got the wrong guy, bucko. I never criticized Chef for his McNair joke. Anyway you are just arguing semantics at this point A tall tale is essentially a highly embellished account of a real person and the Jesus story fits under that umbrella I am sure that Jesus did exist but it baffles me that a great number of people out there actually believe the preposterous details of his life that have been conjured up
  2. You kiddin? Jesus is the ULTIMATE tall tale. Let's see, he... 1. Was born of a virgin, impregnated by a god 2. Walked on water 3. Cured the blind and the fatally diseased with a touch of the hand 4. Created food out of thin air and turned water into wine 5. Was executed but then RESURRECTED FROM THE FREAKIN DEAD (that's my favorite little myth) And those are just to name a few. That doesn't qualify as a tall tale? Jesus, to me, was essentially a kind-hearted cult leader whose message caught on. After all, we've heard the whole "Son of God" thing from other folks right? We just slap them with the crazy label, but Jesus was different right? He was divine. Suuuure.
  3. I hope that you realize quoting Jesus has about as much merit as quoting Paul Bunyan. Even if the man did exist, Jesus is about as big of a tall tale as you can get.
  4. I shudder to call ANY NFL player a pansy...having said that, I'm surprised nobody mentioned Vince Young. He basically refused to play because the hometown fans started booing him in one game. I'm sure he's no wimp from a physical standpoint, but any pro athlete who can't handle getting booed doesn't get much respect from me.
  5. So you weren't aware that the Boston Herald's website is just a New England Patriots fan board? Getcha head in the game!
  6. Ok, but we're North America's team right? I still don't get what that means.
  7. To a grossly uninformed public, Boehner and Pelosi are the correct choice to most folks because they are recognizable names.
  8. I've read my fair share of melodramatic postings on this board, but this one tops them all. Snuffing out the light of liberty?
  9. I believe she has a rock solid alibi. If I'm not mistaken, she was in an entirely different part of the country when it all went down, no?
  10. Rest in peace Air McNair A warrior on the field and a gentleman off of it. For the sake of McNair's legacy, let's hope he wasn't involved in something drug related.
  11. I don't see the point in spending 3 hours to watch a football game with women in lingerie when you can just type "women in lingerie" into google images and get the same result. It's like going to see a horrible chick flick and rationalizing it by saying "Well, Scarlett Johansson was in it". Again, google my friends. By the way, contact football without pads? Isn't this a disaster waiting to happen?
  12. The video description on the youtube page described them as Muslim extremists, I just assumed it was correct.
  13. So now that we might have the correct personnel to be aggressive...will the play calling reflect a new attitude? That's my biggest question right now. IMO we have the talent to make the playoffs, but we have to play our cards right.
  14. Epic Muslim Fail. I wonder if they put this in a blooper reel at the end of terrorist training videos.
  15. You know how I know you're gay? You listen to Coldplay.
  16. Never thought I'd say this, but point goes to Skooby...he wasn't comparing the current resumes of the two coaches and he's correct in his assertion that a coach's failures do not preclude later success given the right circumstances. I'm sure Browns fans were saying the exact same things about Belichick that we say about Jauron these days.
  17. In the words of Sideshow Bob..."I'm in prison for attempted murder? They don't give a Nobel Prize for ATTEMPTED Chemistry!"
  18. Close, but not really. If I'm filling out a form and it asks me what state I live in and I tell them that I'm from Canada, the information is not applicable. If I'm filling out a form and it asks me what state I live in and I tell them that I like pistachio ice cream, the information is irrelevant. Like I said, the terms are close but not completely interchangeable.
  19. Ok, at least you got the definiton right (or at least you're closer, not applicable isn't exactly synonymous with irrelevent either). But to your point, why should the team losing make me any less of a fan? There's something called loyalty. I'm a Bills fan through thick and thin...for better or worse. Would you divorce your wife if she gained a little weight? Would you give away your children for adoption because they pulled C's in school instead of A's? Would you ditch your country and move to Europe because you don't like a law that gets passed? No, because people have loyalty toward those things. I am a loyal fan of the Bills whether they go 0-16 or 19-0. In other words, yes, winning is irrelevant to me being a fan. What is so wrong with being a sheep that cheers for the Bills? Isn't that what being a fan is all about? Fan is short for "fanatic" not "impartial observer".
  20. Irrelevant does not mean "not important". I'm guessing you didn't exactly ace your verbal SATs.
  21. This HAS to be the worst cliche in all of sports...if not, it's right up there with "high motor" to describe any white player.
  22. Agreed, but I think we'll feel differently when it's a parade of Bills or Sabres players.
  23. Wow, I think we would get along well. Except for Labatt Blue...thems is fightin words.
  24. Wow 97...we should all be so lucky RIP
  25. Is that supposed to be a joke? If so then congratulations...you are officially the least funny member of TSW.
