  1. I think this is done in an effort to get the Jets to try and trade up to #1 and then the Browns can Draft either Darnold or Rosen at #3. Either they get their pick or whoever is left if one is selected at #2.
  2. Wasn't that like 20 years ago? You're surprised he's aged since then?
  3. That same Peyton Manning where there was debate about who was #1 between him and Leaf up until draft day? And who's to say those other picks would automatically be starters? They could be busts just as easily. Everyone assuming those are going to be impact players is funny. EJ Manuel we traded down and drafted him. How is that panic? Sammy Watkins was thought to be a sure thing, can't miss, top tier WR to pair up with your young QB. How is that panic?
  4. Hopefully so people pass on him and he can take him in the 3rd/4th. Lord knows we need LB help.
  5. If? Late Rounds? He is definitely getting drafted and I would be shocked if were after the 4th round. You never watched him play at UCF then. He was all over the field, making all the tackles. Even managed 3 picks. With proper technique you don't need a hand to tackle. You've been watching Preston Brown for too long. Proper tackling is wrapping up with the arms.
  6. Genius response. If anything that is the perfect example of why you don't do it. Couple that with the fact that first round picks are valued much higher now with the rookie wage scale and the 5th year option. But, hey, keep believing in conspiracy theories with no merit or trolling or whatever you are doing. I'll stick with logic, reason, and facts.
  7. Maybe, just maybe because the guy had only started 2 games before he was traded and teams hadn't seen enough of him to give up more than that knowing that they would have to re-sign him to a huge new deal on top of giving up the pick(s) (or franchise him for a huge amount). So, they could have been giving up picks for nothing after the season if he wasn't what they thought he could be. Finally, it was reported that he was unwilling to trade him in the AFC, so that took away 1/2 of the trade market for him right there.
  8. The NFL is way too cut-throat for this non-sense. People don't do other people "favors." They simply do what is in the best interest of their team to protect their skin. The 49ers will only trade with the Pats if they think they are offered more than what their current pick is worth and no other team is offering something better. It's pretty plain and simple. Take off the tin-foil hat my man. These guys have multi-million dollar dream jobs on the line, which are in short supply.
  9. In the OSU games that I watched during the season I would say it was the WRs making him look good. I would put money him falling into the 2nd round over a team trading up for him any day of the week.
  10. If I'm running things I'm taking Lamar over Rudolph at 12. I'm not considering Rudolph until pick 22. Willing to trade up for (in order of preference): Darnold Mayfield Rosen Taking at 12 (in order): Jackson Allen Considering at 22: Rudolph When thinking of Rudolph all I can think of is Zach Mettenberger. Decent arm, huge stats throwing to 2 top level college WRs (Jarvis Landry and OBJ for Mettenberger) who made him look a lot better than he actually was.
  11. 1. Sam Darnold - Cleveland Browns 2. Josh Rosen - Buffalo Bills 3. Josh Allen - Arizona Cardinals 4. Baker Mayfield - New York Jets 5. Lamar Jackson - Pittsburgh Steelers Bonus: Bills Pick - Josh Rosen
  12. Darnold had 6 picks the first 3 games this season, only 7 the rest of the way. My point, if it wasn't clear, was that a fumble issue is much easier to fix, in my opinion, than Allen's glaring accuracy issues.
  13. Darnold has thrown 22 picks the last 2 seasons and Allen has thrown 21. Darnold has 20 fumbles to Allen's 13. We all know the difference in the level of competition between the two schools. So you are telling me that Allen's accuracy issues (49% completion at JuCo, 56% both years at Wyoming) are more correctable than Darnold's fumble issues. I'm sorry, no freaking way. I ain't buying it and I don't think any competent NFL executive is buying it either. I don't see any way the Brown's take him over Darnold. But, then again, they are the Browns.
  14. Almost every single NFL QB has enough arm strength to throw in Buffalo. It's such an overplayed thought to say that any of these guys can't throw in the wind or snow. They are NFL QBs for heaven's sake. He will be fine. The only thing arm strength hurts you, really, is when you are trying to throw into tight windows and it gives the defenders a little bit more time to close the gaps. In a game of inches, that can matter a lot. But that is going to be the case anywhere, not just in the 1 or 2 games a year when weather is a factor in Buffalo.
  15. I will have confidence that they saw something they really liked in him and were willing to pay to move up to get him. Now, if Darnold, Mayfield, and Rosen are gone and we "settle" for Allen at 12, then I will be a bit more concerned.
  16. I watched 2 UCF games this year, the one vs USF and the one vs Auburn. He was all over the place, making plays all over the field in both games. Kept saying to myself...man, there's that guy with one hand again making another play. He was flying all over the place. He's going to go in round 3 or 4 I think. I would love to have him. Only down side is his size. He's quite small for an NFL LB (his twin is a NFL CB in case you were unaware) so I'm not sure how that will translate in pass rush and run stopping ability. He has a certain "IT" factor though, that's for sure.
  17. Gotcha, guess it didn't stay open long enough for that to come through.
  18. Now this is ironic considering your "Mayfield will be a Bill" thread you just started.
  19. People claiming an opinion with little to no real certainty and ending it with "period." Funny stuff.
  20. If he were, he would have been selected before we traded our pick. It's that simple. He is probably only ahead of Jackson/Rudolph on most boards.
  21. Yeah, because if one thing history has shown us, it's that where a QB went to college matters. I wonder, OP, without looking it up can you name single University with more than 1 hall of fame QB who went there or more than 1 considered a franchise QB currently? Didn't think so.
  22. I love the ignore function on this site. Add another one to the list.
  23. Well, definitely my favorite name in this draft crop. so there's that.
