As far as I know, he's recovered. But his exploits in the '70s and '80s are legendary on tour. I believe he quit around '98 or so after his longtime wife filed for divorce. You gotta pull for this guy. What an amazing story it would be.
I'm sure there are still people who are arguably just as good, if not better, as far as pure journalism goes, but it was such a different era. He just had such an iconic persona. Anything like that won't happen again in broadcast news.
Six is asking a lot. I would be thrilled if he had six. I'm really not sure what to expect, though. Defensive ends -- even elite ones -- tend to struggle in the first year.
