  1. I may be wrong, but I don't beleive anyone ever actually confirmed an extension. The talk was all through the media but the team never confirmed it.
  2. Just think, with the Jets and Patriots losses today, if we only played sh------- instead of real sh-------, we would be 8-4 and tied for first in the AFC Least.
  3. They probably need to win out to make the playoffs, but there is no way Indys win eliminates the Bills. If they go 0-5 and Bills go 5-0, that puts us 3 games up on them?
  4. It is the system with no question. Brady would succeed with any team, but I doubt to the extent he has in NE. On top of that, cheating doesn't hurt your chances either when you know what defense the other team is going to run or what plays their offense is going run.
  5. I agree with some of the other responders, although he has dropped a few in the recent past, he made an outstanding athletic play just to get in position to have a change to pick off that pass. No other corner in the league is going to make that pick more than 1 every 10 tries.
  6. I dont think cold weather is the cause for his substandard play the last 4 weeks. It wasn't too cold in Miami when he stunk the joint up. In fact, it was rather warm in Buffalo against the Jets too. His problem I believe (and so does he) is adjusting to defenses.
  7. No one has ever been selected for induction based on being a coordinator. Of course, most head coaches were coordinators, but kinda like special team players (Tasker), they are overlooked. Also a good amount of great coordinators (Buddy Ryan, Norv Turner, etc.) have hurt their reputations with thier disastrous tenures as Head Coaches.
  8. I would have to go with Robert Royal. He drops to many crucial passes. The one game they used rookie Derek Fine he was impressive, need to get him in the game more.
  9. I don't think the real problem is Lynch or Edwards but those underachieving, overpaid offensive lineman in front of them. The announcers mention every week that the Bills have the heaviest line in the NFL, they need to mention that being so big apparently makes them one of the slowest lines in the NFL too. Jason Peters has went from a dominating tackle one year, to someone who thinks he is Anthony Munoz and holding out all summer and training camp and not only getting burned each week, but having critical penalties called on him each week. Lynch has been getting 40-50 yards a week with this terrible line, and 95% of his yards has been running through, over or carrying defenders on his back. Watch Edwards, whenever he actually isn't being pressured or pounded into the ground, he normally makes good decisions. All but 1 or 2 of his interceptios this year have been when he has someone in his face or on his back planting him into the ground. Maybe having Butler back this week will help, but probably going to take more than that.
  10. If you truly want Losman in as QB, this has to be your first season as a Bills fan and obviously didn't have a TV to watch last season.
  11. Everyone had the same hopes for JP a year ago as we all do for Edwards now, but face it, even if they put JP in and he looked like Joe Montana incarnated, he isn't staying in Buffalo. He lost his job more than once here, been jerked around (not all undeservedly either), and the little bit he played this year, he looked just like he has in the past. I don't think they could pay him enough to stay in Buffalo, he has already asked to be traded in the preseason. The only option is to ride it out with Edwards and at the end of the year you can better judge him after starting for a complete season. The earlier poster is correct in my opinion, if JP had to deal with the lack of blocking that Trent has, he would be up around 10 or 15 ints already this year. Trent has made quite a few mistakes the last few weeks but I still don't see the panic in his play that JP has during a heavy rush. Right no with only a scant few exceptions, the QB play around the NFL is subpar. There are no Kellys, Marino, Elways, Aikmans, Moons, etc. around today. Probably the best QB in the league this year is Eli Manning and he couldn't carry the jock of the previous mentioned QBs.
  12. I would say I have no doubt that Pozlusny hates losing, he has an old school mentality about football which you have to love about him. I would probably agree with Whitner also. Edwards probably got used to losing at Stanford where they one about 1 game a year. Someone who already posted hasn't been watching for a couple years, London Fletcher hasn't been a Bill for a couple seasons now. I guess the more you think about it, not too many Bills fit this category, but then again not a whole lot of NFL players period fit this category. Fans hate losing more than the players do for the most part.
  13. I agree that Jauron isn't doing the job everyone thought he was for the first month of the season, but that is normal, the level that a head coach succeeds is always going to be based on wins and losses. After the first month of the year he was a front runner for coach of the year, now he isn't looking so great. Either way, if they really did sign him to a 3 year extension as reported, but never confirmed by the Bills, this is a useless post and he isn't going anywhere right away. Anyone watching the Bills over the years knows Ralph isn't going to give someone millions of dollars in an extension than fire him before it even takes into effect. I don't think Cowher would come here, as he normally is in charge of everything, not going to happen in Buffalo.
  14. I would love to be able to honestly say I think they will end up 10-6, but this team so much resembles the last 7 or 8 teams, I have to go with 7-9 or 8-8 at best. They don't resemble the team from the first 4 weeks, but then again either do their opponents.
  15. JP is on the bench because of his inability to make the mental decisions. He has more physical tools then Trent Edwards will ever dream of having, but he looks like a Hall of Famer on one play than looks like Akili Smith on the next with some stupid on field decision.
  16. I would defend Trent on the fumble, he does need a little help from the linemen. I dont think the line even attempted to block on those plays, even Phil Simms stated that it should be put on the OL. I put the int for a TD pretty much on Trent, the DB suckered him in on that throw, the int at the end happens to all qb's in last minute desperation throws. I did see flashes of JP in there, and some of the posts here are correct, he isn't playing as smart as he did the first quarter of the season-any chance he is still either physically or mentally feeling the effects from the concusion? I am along with all the true Bills fans in hoping they turn it around, but I don't have a very confident feeling this weekend, after watching them for the last couple weekends. How many times do they have to try Fred Jackson on 4th and 1 only to get stuffed to realize he isn't a power back?
  17. I don't think it will be all wiped out, since we got it handed to us by two divisional foes we should have beaten. What an opportunity lost, if we played anything like the first 4 weeks we would be 7-1 and this game would be nothing more than a chance to widen our divisional lead. If we do beat them (if we play anything close to the last two weeks, it is going to get handed to us), the conception will be that we beat them because they dont have Brady. A win still leaves us at 1-2 in the division, games in which most tie breakers are based on. I guess if we do beat them, it will be the first win against a team with anything close to a winning record, so it will have that going for it. What happened to the upbeat, smart, energetic play from the first 4 games? Two penalties for 12 men on defense in one game-unexcuseable. The first 4 games we were in the top of the league for the fewest penalties and turnovers. 3 times in the last 4 weeks, we have lost because of turnovers and penalties. It is still possible to turn this around and dump the negativity, but it won't happen by just winning this weekend, that will just be a start of this incredibly positive season that is quickly turning into another dissapointment for Bills fans.
  18. I agree with the majority of the people in this forum, I don't have much of a problem with 4 of the 5 items you pointed out, but to call Lynch is average is really silly. They don't block for him, half of his yards he has had at least one defender hanging on him and going for a ride, and his motor never stops. I haven't missed a game of his yet, and am still waiting for him to go down on the first hit, never happens. You better get cable by february, because those rabbit ear antenna you are watching that fuzzy/snowy picture on won't work after then.
  19. Not so sure Cotrell would even come back here seeing how he probably feels he wasn't given a fair shot at the Head Coach position when he was here last time. He didn't leave on the best of terms.
  20. It is a classic rivalry with a great history that over the past few years has been slipping because of the below mediocre play of both teams. The first time I ever met Thurman Thomas about 15 years ago, someone asked something about setting records in the upcoming season and he stated something like "Just let me play against Miami every week." Kinda ironic seeing who he finished his career with, although I think that was just an attempt at getting back at the Bills for cutting him. I was also at the game in the early 80's when the Bills finally beat the Phins after about 10 years of losing to them-still have a piece of the field goal net from that game. Was also at the game the year before, when Tom Dempsey missed a last second field goal, that looked good from the side of the field where we were at. After that game, all you heard in the parking lot was chants of "goodbye peg leg." Go Bills!!!!!!
  21. What is up with the Bills only giving Lynch the ball 14-16 times per game? That isn't even enough action for him to get in "Beast Mode", and if anyone watched the games last year, it is when he gets into the 25-30 carries a game range that he becomes almost impossible to stop. I like Fred Jackson alot, and think he can be a good backup and 3rd down back for the Bills for awhile, but why leave him in at the goal line or on 3rd/4th and one and run him up the middle and have Lynch on the sideline?
  22. Only time will tell. He didn't fair too well against Cleveland or the Giants last year in bad weather. Just about every facet of his game has improved dramatically since last year, so we can hope that playing in piss poor weather will improve too. If he wants to be the face of thie franchise for a long time he is going to have to play well, as winter weather has been a big factor towards the Bills home field advantage during the second halves of seasons for years.
  23. From everything I have read and heard, he is correct. Bill Walsh spoke to Marv Levy (who gave Walsh his first college job as one of Marv's assistants), and recommended Edwards to Marv. Glad he took the late coach for his word. Go Bills!!!!!
  24. Are you kidding me? Two things I have been in love with for more than my entire adult life-and a large portion of my formative years-The Buffalo Bills and ALYSSA MILANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. "no longer be a fan"? Sounds to me like you aren't a fan right now, but a hopeful bandwagon rider. You are an embarrassment to the "real" fans. Go sit on your porch, that Cowboys or Steelers bandwagon will be riding by soon, you can jump on with half of the rest of the country that has never even been to the state where their "favorite" team plays. I guess we can call you the "Willis McGahee of Fans". Bye we don't miss you already.
