  1. How many rookie receivers have really caught on in thier first year? Not too many. It is one of the more difficult position for a rookie to learn, unlike running backs. Have to give him a little more time to learn before we call his a total bust. Next to Lee Evans one handed catch in the end zone, his touchdown catch at the beginning of the season might be one of the top highlights in a p*ss poor season. I too think Steve Johnson could be a good one, not a total surprise though. There were a few publications that listed him as maybe the Steal of the draft lasting all the way to the 7th round.
  2. Those of you who have been saying that Ralph will fire DJ whether or not he signed and extension, obviously havent been paying too much attention to the way Ralph operates (and pinches pennies) over the past 3 or 4 decades. He didn't even want to pay Wade Phillips what he owed him on his contract after he fired him, the same coach who took us to the playoffs for the last time, and almost every year he was here.
  3. Yeah really, I can't believe he couldn't hang with an NFL wideout for the entire 15 minutes Farve had back there each play. There is no DB in the NFL that can hang with Coles or any other wideout when the other teams QB didn't face pressure a single play all day. Whitner is the least of our problems. How do u slam Levy and his drafts, look at his compared to the class of 2008. If it wasn't for 4 or 5 good games by McKelvin, this years class would be a total bust so far.
  4. Having the money and spending it are two very different things.
  5. Bill Cowher is a good coach but I don't understand the way people talk about him like he is Vince Lombardi or someone with great accomplishments. He won one Superbowl in what 15 or so years? Billick won that many. The Steelers under Cowher had homefield advantage throughout the playoff at least 4 or 5 times and lost at home (once to the Bills). The only time the won the big one they were the lowest seeded Wildcard and didn't have that great of a season. Now granted, he is better than anyone we have had in a decade, but there are other options just as good (and a bank vault cheaper) than him. Everyone know Ralph isn't going to pay that much money, but how about Brian Billick, Schottenheimer, or maybe our own Jim Haslett. Once again, not to talk bad about Cowher, i would be ecstatic if we got him, but it is a pipe dream, and not the only viable option out there.
  6. How many times do we have to bring the Franchise QB into Buffalo? Didn't we just give up a boat load of draft picks to our buddies in Dallas to draft J.P. (aka-Just can't Play).
  7. I don't know why I put myself in front of the TV each week. Down here in Virginia, I purchase the Sunday Ticket package each year so I can watch "My Bills" each year. This time each year I say I am not going to get it the next year because I am so pissed off. Seems like even more so this year they are so dissapointing. The coaching and play calling the last month and a half has been little league. First and goal and you throw an endzone jump ball to a 5 foot 10 receiver? If you want to throw that why not put Hardy in, that is why you drafted him. Better yet, why not give the ball to Fred Jackson like you have for the last month in that situation only to have him stuffed for a loss. Is there an item in Lynch's contract that he doesn't carry it in goal line situations? Seems like the obvious choice to me. Being a Bills fan is in my blood, and my blood is boiling. I am so frustrated that they play and coach so far below their potential.
  8. If Ralph demanded wins so much, why did he have the Bills playing in Toronto where the Dolphins had more of an advantage then the so called home team did. How many times did u hear the crowd getting loud when the Fins had the ball-None. Every time they showed the fans, it was someone in Miami gear. The main reason teams hate to come to Buffalo is the winter weather, which they had in Buffalo today. Too bad we were in a dome resembling Miami weather.
  9. Not too sure that it is a love affair with Edwards, but more likely just a bunch of die hard fans that have gone too long without quality football and can't help but to grab onto any glimmer of hope of success. The same affair was had with JP, Bledsoe, Flutie, Mularkey, and the list goes on and on. We just want a winner and sometimes our hope overrides common sense.
  10. I believe a former coach is the Offensive Coordinator in Atlanta, another one who was the next great thing in Buffalo.
  11. How many big games have the Bills won in this millenium? That same answer-NONE!
  12. The only thing they have in common is they are both intelligent men off the field. Nothing is in common between the white lines.
  13. I have been a Bills fan for over 40 years, but if they move to Toronto permanently I won't support them anymore. I am a huge Bills fan, but first and foremost I am a Western New Yorker and proud of it.
  14. If Ralph is so upset, why isn't he logging in here and posting with the rest of us pissed off fans.
  15. DJ is not doing a great job this year, but as long as you have head coaches like Norv Turner at 4-8 with the most talented team in the NFL, Jack Del Rio at 4-8 with many experts Super Bowl pick just as examples you can't see is the worst coach in the NFL.
  16. Have a sense of humor. If you are a Bills fan over the last decade or so you have to have a sense of humor to keep watching them.
  17. Actually JP has one of the better arms in the NFL, and alot of announcers have said that. He may throw the best long ball in the league, but until he gets the mental part of the game down, he isn't going to succeed. He has all the physical tools you could ask for, he can run and throw but holds on the ball too long and his biggest problem he makes too many poor decisions. He has more physical tools then Trent can dream of, too bad we cant take Trents mind and put it on JPs physical skills, be might actually finally have Jim Kellys replacement.
  18. There is more of a chance that he will get sacked 5 times, fumble twice and throw 3 picks. As far as his beard, I think, watching him way back in training camp, after he asked to be traded and they told him no, he was pouting around, and his beard is another way of being an outsider. He hasn't wanted to be there all year and has shown it by avoiding the media. Our only hope of him playing well is that he wants to fool some other team into giving him a big contract at the end of the season as a free agent.
  19. First off, I don't believe DJ put this team together, you can thank Marv Levy and Mike Modrak and other upstairs for that. Marv cleaned out most of the attitudes (Mcgahee) and brought in character players. I don't think more breaks is what we need, we need less stupid mistakes and boring play calling. If I see them to for it on 4th and short one more time and they give it to Fred Jackson up the middle again, I might burn all of my Bills gear. Especially last week, in the 2 and 3rd quarter, Marshawn was averaging over 10 yards per carry and they take him out at the goal line again? Fred Jackson has been awesome, and a great compliment to Lynch, but he doesn't have the power for that call.
  20. If I really thought that Ralph would spend the money to bring in a top notch proven coach, maybe I would agree that he should go. But reality is, Ralph would bring in another coordinator or recycled coach and we would be starting all over again. At least if DJ stays you have some continuity, as they say teams hardly ever win in the first year of a head coach (sure it has happened but not often). I do agree maybe some changes on his staff need to be made. There was alot of hype on how the offense was going to open up with the new Coordinator, but it isn't much different. After Norv Turner gets the can in San Diego, maybe we can bring him here to run the offense, or after the 49ers can Mike Martz, he would work too. As long as Ralph doesn't bring either of them in with the thought of them being a future Head Coach, as they both, especially Norv, have proven it doesn't work.
  21. It would have been an excellent catch if me made it. The defender was in good position, in fact I though it was borderline interference. Some of the other posters are correct though, you can't think of too many drops Parrish has had, unlike Lynch who seems to drop at least one easy short pass per game.
  22. VJ91 read before you type, what I was talking about is if we only could be teams like the Browns and 49ers-pathetic teams we would be 8-4 right now-use the match. I dont think my post said they would go from 6-6 to 8-4, you are the one posting nonsense. Wait until you aren't so pissed off before you log on next time.
  23. Is it April 1st or am I just being punked. That might be the dumbest post on this board-ever!
  24. That all sounds great in a fantasy world, but they have a better chance of losing their last 4 than they do winning them, in fact, the way they are playing, I am thinking they probably will lose their last 4 games. Why am I such a sucker, every year at this time I am so fed up with the underachieving and lackluster play, but come training camp and preseason, I am there with everyone else having high hopes and dreams for the new year-only to be crushed again. They have no chance of a playoff this year (sure mathematically maybe, but really? be honest?), and probably won't next year either. Now that the Cardinals are going to win their division this year, we have the distinction of having the longest time span since the last playoff appearance. Is it possible that the organization still hasn't recovered from the Music City Ripoff?
  25. I am a lifelong Bills fan and a fan of Ralphs, but what has he really done besides kept the team here? It isn't like he did it and had to take a financial loss for himself. The owners of the Lions, Bengals, Browns and others kept their teams where they are-and they have all made the playoffs since the Bills have. Maybe he could donate towards payroll and pay more than a select few salaries that match the more successful teams. A big part of the blame is the fans of Buffalo, no matter what type of pathetic team he puts on the field, the seats are going to still be full, so why improve and give money away that could go in his pocket? He isn't going fit anymore people in the stadium.
