Let the Doom & Gloom reign
John Cocktosten replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh no you didn't -
The Jets made it to the AFC Championship with a rookie QB. BTW, it was a 3 point game going into the 4 qtr. They had the #1 defense, in fact they were 32 YPG better than 2nd ranked D. They had the #1 scoring D. They have the best CB in the game, just ask Lee Evans and added another solid man corner. They had the #1 rushing offense with a rookie QB. They are now loaded at WR. To say that they are miles better than the Bills on the Oline is an understatement. They are on the other side of the pacific better that the Bills. If you are not scared of the Jets than you are blinded by your fandom.

An Article That Addresses The Clausen Arguements
John Cocktosten replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you ever think that Shanahan wanted to win right away? Getting a perrenial Pro Bowl QB who is coming to your team with a massive chip on his shoulder helps Shanny do just that. Or that a rookie QB will generally take 2-3 years before he can actually start impacting a game consistantly? Pure speculation on your part. -
Bills open to Brohm starting
John Cocktosten replied to bfw1234's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, the article didn't say it's his job. Secondly, have you seen the other two choices on this team? It's hard for me to put any stock in a guy who was let go only a year after being selected in the 2nd round. And please save the waiver BS, nobody wanted him and the Pack washed their hands of him. Draft Clausen if he's there PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
For All The People Who Favor Mayock

+1 -
Watch the USC game where he was shut down completely. The second he stepped on the field against a good team in a huge game he did nothing. His best games were against inferior opponents like Coastal Carolina, Cuse and Temple (5 sacks). Maybin wil never be a good player.

Terrence Cody is a Beast on Madden

Maybe we can draft Sonic the Hedgehog as a 3rd down back. -
Trent likes to shoot 18 holes to relax after a big loss.

Not to mention that the combined record of the first 4 teams the Bills played was a whopping 16-48! But that probably had nothing to do with it. -

I couldn't agree more. He had his best game of his career the following game against San Diego. He was great that game and he outplayed Rivers for a huge victory at home. I was convinced after that game that he was going to be a good QB, although I never saw greatness in him. Well, then he played out the season in horrible fashion and continued his terrible play throughout last year. The Wilson hit is just another on a long list of excuses as to why Trent sucks. -
What do you think of the FRONT OFFICE so far?
John Cocktosten replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have to get another QB in here and obviously they are trying like hell. It's become pretty obvious that they believe Trent can't run this offense and to me that is a major step in the right direction. I liked the Davis and D. Edwards pickups. But it's all about the draft. If Buddy puts a premium on pass rushers like i think he will, I'll be thrilled. -
Dude, if you haven't burned your Bills gear yet, you will never burn it.

Is Gailey working with our QB's now?
John Cocktosten replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know you said YOUR OPINION and YOUR OPINION is unsubstantiated BS. You made up this ridiculous scenario in your head and decided to share your fantasy land thoughts with the rest of us. Are you having conversations in your head with Buddy Nix? Hilarious!!!!! -
Is Gailey working with our QB's now?
John Cocktosten replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is total unsubstantiated BS based on nothing but your h*rd-on for Brohm. Way to just make sh*t up. LOL!!! The fact that they were willing to give up picks when they have such a thin roster is a complete indictment of all of their QB's. Add to that, they were willing to give him an extension!? I don't think Buddy and Co. were going to wait for Brohm or the other two scrubs to blossom. Nice try though. -
Bills offered McNabb an extension
John Cocktosten replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Props to Buddy for trying, unfortunately the previous regimes have left the team in such disarray that the Bills have become a pariah in the NFL. -
..but I think Clausen weighs more.

If you watched him play, what about his play was "bad"? Funny how you say this and even his biggest detractors have never said he's "bad". The comparison to Maybin, like your post, is ridiculous. Maybin only played in '08 because of injuries and suspensions. Clausen was the top prospect in the country, stepped on ND's campus and took the starting job for almost 3 full years. He showed amazing progression year after year and finished up his TRUE Junior year almost perfect. In case you didn't know, QB's take a couple years to evolve. So how is he like Maybin?

I watched almost every Clausen game this year so my opinion of him is based on the way he performed on the field. I feel like he has the arm, he's very acccurate, he can change arm angles to adjust to throwing lanes and maintain accuracy, he comes up big in the big spots and his performance stays consistant regardless of the opponent. One of my best friends is a college OC at a very good school and he DVRs all of ND's games because he like to see Weiss's offense and how it adjusts from week to week. During the season he called me on a Sunday after ND played USC and said that Clausen had one of the most impressive games that he's seen out of a QB in a long time. He could not believe how he hung while his Oline played like crap to make throw after throw. By the end of the season he said that Clausen was the best QB that he's seen in years. There are two thing that he's pointed to, his ability to make every kind of throw regardless of context and the way he plays mistake free regardless of the opponent/situation. In his word, that shows he has the "mind & body". If Clausen is there and the Bills pass, it will be yet another setback for a team that can't figure out the draft. I know NGU's track record is stellar but let's hope he's dead wrong about this.
