  1. Or he is just being honest. Same team, same coaches, same system and the only significant FA is on the bench with an injury that usually last all season. PLAYOFFS HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!
  2. That is a great point. The Donte lovers will say because of his versatility, he does whats best for the team.
  3. Yeah, but he's not a good player. He is an average player.
  4. By the logic of the "Pro" Donte crowd and Tim Graham (Donte sucks because everyone else around him sucks), we can expect another year of no forced turnovers or big plays of any kind. I wonder how many "fence sitters" there will be next year when he has another average year? Will there be a spot on the team for him if Byrd turns out to be a solid player?
  5. Yeah, that was a head scratcher to me too. Ramius, that quote from Tim Graham couldn't be more off to me. That means that a MLB with no interior D Line is at less of a disadvantage? I think when you try to look at those things qualitatively they sound good, but the truth is that it's completely biased. Gren Bay and St. Louis struggled to put pressure on the QB last year too but Collins and Atogwe were at the top of the NFL in INT's. Buffalo was ranked 14th in total D, St. Louis was 28th and GB was 20th. So much for "It's the guys in front of you" theory. Great playmakers do not need help around them to make plays. Does it help? Sure, but after 3 years, instincts and anticipation should kick in and Donte has shown neither.
  6. 20 yards is the typical depth that a FS plays at.
  7. He's playing Free Safety. As an Anti Donte guy, I don't understand what Ngata has to do with this argument. Yes, we know the Bills were complete idiots when they took Donte over Ngata but that is not Lil Donte's fault. It was Marv and the rest of the Bills "Braintrust" who thought it was a good idea to rebuild a struggling franchise with a small safety with zero ability to make a play on the ball. When you mention Ngata, it gives the Pro Donte crowd a reason to deflect away from the actual facts...he just isn't that good.
  8. I think you should read what I wrote. I think the anti crowd should get over Ngata is what I said. I also never said he should be cut either. My point is that he is a very polarizing player. The cheap shot tackle agaisnt the Radiers is a perfect example of what he does and the reaction he causes amongst the fans. When I heard fans say that it was awesome and that Donte wasn't going to let that happen in his house, i was like "WHAT?" I thought it was a total bush league move! So the anti/pro question fits here. I wouldn't start the same poll for anyone else on this team other than Donte. His mouth gets him ito trouble along with his antics off of the field. So, even though I didn't come out and say it, I am Anti but it has nothing to do with #8 or Ngata. His average play doesn't equal up to his big mouth. That being said, I hope he proves me horribly wrong. Me personally, I wish I saw what other Pro D's see but I think he is limited. I think Anti D crowd has to get over the fact that we passed on Ngata (When Ngata scored yesterday I got about 4 phone calls saying, "HE SHOULD BE OURS!") But I think you call a spade a spade, he is small, limited in coverage and is simply just not an impact player at all. He is an average safety.
  9. The reason I ask is because this seems to be a topic that comes up all of the time with my friends. He is as polarizing as JP and Flutie were but he is a SAFETY! So I am looking for my fellow TBD'ers to settle this for my friends and I. And please, save the, "Why does it have to be pro or anti?" Because, everyone I talk to and read on these message boards seems to have a very strong opinion on him either way.
