I haven't been to Jimmy's in years -- ever since I sold my soul to DirecTV. Even though Jimmy's is only a few miles from my house. I do recall going there one Saturday night about 10 years ago -- during that sweet spot when the Sabres and Bills are playing. I went there to watch the Sabres. There was a group of people sitting at a table near the front door and they were all totally s**t-faced. I showed up the next day about 12:45 p.m. to watch the Bills. What do you know, there's that same group of people sitting at the same table -- and they were well on their way to getting totally s**t-faced. And then there was the guy sitting next to me at the bar telling me how he couldn't get to work in downtown DC anymore because of his multiple DWIs. I guess that's when I decided that Jimmy's wasn't the place for me.

Didn't Warren Sapp drop in the draft because he tested positive for weed (or maybe just rumors that he smoked ganja)? Despite his boorish behavior on the field (and there are plenty of examples, according to Wikipedia), the taste for THC didn't seem to negatively impact his abilities.

That's an interesting observation. Everyone got wood over the hiring of little Tommy because he was a "name" from a successful organization (think Shanahan, Cowher, Martyball, etc. etc.) Well we got the "big name" and still haven't recovered after all these years. Let's hope the much maligned no-name Buddy Nix can turn this team aroudn.

There is a school of thought (and social research) that says the poor residents of Jonestown did not drink Kool-Aid but rather a competing product called Flavor Aid. This should not be confused with the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Tests of the mid-1960s in which Kool-Aid was laced with LSD. And I agree with your premise. Conventional wisdom is usually has it back-asswards.

He was on the downside of his career when the Steelers let him walk. Only he didn't know it at the time. If the Bills could pick him up for a rock-bottom price then he might make a good backup and mentor to some of the youngsters. But he's not worth a big bucks or long term commitment. And I'm sure that's what he and his agent are looking for.

Elaborate please. Your argument is intriguing but somewhat vague. What were the Donohoe/Williams/Mularey and Levy/Jauron plans? How are they similar, if not identical, to the current regime's plans. Examples and specifics, please.

Your question would hold a lot more water if the Bills took Tebow or one of those other "sexy" QBs. just my opinion
