  2. You should watch the Clemson-Florida State game from last year. EJ looked like as good a running QB as I've ever seen in that game. Quick, fast, explosive, decisive, instinctive. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=322660052 12 carries, 102 yards with a long run of 28 yards.
  3. I don't know if I agree with that. But you're not the only person to make that comment so maybe it's me.
  4. They still count for 6 points though, correct? How many points does he get when he lunges and tags the pylon with the ball when he's fully laid out?
  5. Probably because the Bills are his favorite team. Why do you post here? I assume it's because the Bills are your favorite team.
  6. The success of the O-line isn't entirely on the shoulders of the O-line coach. As others have pointed out, having an experienced QB to call protections and process the ball quickly is helpful. So is an Offensive Coordinator who puts his players and subordinate coaches in a position to succeed.
  7. Also like many, I tend to cheer for underdogs. And honestly there are tons of bandwagon Niners fans up here. We moved here in 2002 and you never saw Niners fans. It's only in the Harbaugh years that they've come back out of the woodwork. Go Packers!!!
  8. The Tampa game was bracketed by the Atlanta and Jacksonville games in which I thought EJ played very well. Again it's a shame he had an injury-prone rookie season. That has to really stunt a rookie QBs development.
  9. Like I said WEO, we can each cherry pick and I could reverse the argument regarding causality. Bottom line I don't think his struggles were significantly different from that of other rookie QBs. And I think it's a shame he wasn't healthy enough to play in the last two games in which any natural progression (or regression) would have been apparent.
  10. I would characterize Nelson's performance as quiet excellence.
  11. Like I said though Mark, Cinci is a traditionally horrible team. Lewis' career winning percentage: 51% Cinci's all-time winning percentage without Lewis: 43% He's done a good job with a reputedly cheap and mismanaged organization, IMO.
  12. To the bolded, I think your statement is pretty subjective and people on both sides of this opinion could each cherry pick stats to support their sides. The fact is that Wilson did have some really bad games for a really good team. For the stuff below the bolded, a half season of football is a large sample size. It's equivalent to a huge chunk of an NFL players career. I think it's very fair for people to have evolved their opinions based on 8 weeks of NFL football, as long as they're honest about how their opinions have evolved. The problem is that not everyone is honest about their opinions.
  13. The best wideout on the team is wide open deep. Good job Packers.
  14. I criticize the Bills quite a bit but they're the only team I care about. Bills for Life indeed!
  15. On one hand, there's been a year of healing and Fitz doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to hold a grudge. On the other hand, he signed a two-year deal with the Titans.
  16. And Kaepernick landed on a team that had the 2nd ranked defense in points, 3rd in yardage, a very strong running game, an excellent offensive line, and a team which had gone 13-3 the year before his first NFL start as a sophomore.
  17. And yet the Bills successfully traded McCargo to the Colts, only to have him fail his physical. :wallbash: Oh. I was thinking Andrew Luck. Yeah the TJ Graham pick was horrible on so many levels (TY Hilton, Russell Wilson, trading up in front of a team which selected a punter). Even in the voluminous category of bad Bills draft picks, Graham's selection is one of the worst.
  18. Absolutely, Bill. I'll add that EJ completed around 67% of his throws in college and had a very nice yards per attempt of 8.6. While these stats have limited meaning, I'd much rather he had these excellent stats than if he had middling college stats.
  19. I agree with your entire post except that I don't think Dalton's problem is arm strength.
  20. I say no. For the first time in team history, the team made the playoffs 3 seasons in a row. Marvin is a good coach hired by a perennially inept organization. They have to upgrade at QB. Dalton has plenty of weapons around him and Jay Gruden is a highly-respected coordinator. Dalton has to go in order for the Bengals to make the next step.
