  1. Yet the "most" money he got was $6.5M, again less than the average Coles is getting from the Bengals. I'll take it! I heard Rosenhaus interviewed and chuckled when he said that the Bills were paying TO more money than he would have made with the Cowboys. While comparing base salary to base salary that's true, Owens got a 3-year $27M contract extension prior to the 2008 season, with $13M in guaranteed money, for essentially last season.

  3. Wrong. There werfe 6 teams interested in him. But assuming the Bills were the only team; so what? The Bills got a difference-maker on offense.
  4. Aren't there some fish you need to mong?
  5. He looked like a man at peace with his decision. Not a "oh man, THIS is where I had to end up?" or "I'm gonna take these suckers for all they're worth!"
  6. Well, the one inarguable point is that TO is a great player, period. His presence on the field helps a team's offense, period. The yang to that yin is that he's a distraction when he feels slighted. The trick for the Bills will be to prevent that from happening, but I can't see them not making Owens the focal point of the offense.
  7. There were other teams. And so what if they paid $6.5M? Coles and Housh got $7M or more a season. Who is the better WR?
  8. Well now Trent will have NO excuses left.
  9. In defense of Terrell Owens
  10. It was a great line.
  11. The 2-4 games claimed by Clayton is what he's speculating based on taking last year's "conviction for a traffic ticket" into account. And it's what he believes the Commish will hand down, not what Lynch will ultimately serve, which will be half of what the Commish gives him.
  12. I agree. Marshall's case was one of repeated violent actions. Lynch was found with an illegal gun in his car. Not even close to the same situations.
  13. Lynch pleaded guilty to hit and run? Um, no. He pleaded guilty to failing to avoid hitting a pedestrian. A "crime" the equilvalent of a traffic ticket. Because there was no evidence he knew he hit her and thus knowingly ran.
  14. My serious answer would be that the Dolphin probably got pink the way flamingos do: eating shrimp.
  15. Oh, I think he'll get suspended. But I think he'll ultimately serve 4 games after the NFLPA gets involved. And as per the info you provided, Marshall was arrested twice before his previous arrest, that got him ultimately suspended for 1 game. This is Lynch's first arrest, and even if you consider last year's incident as an "arrest," it still falls short of the "3 strike and you're out" like what happened in Marshall's case.
  16. For disorderly conduct charges that were later dropped?
  17. He handled last year's situation the way anyone should handle it; by listening to his lawyer. And if he came forward after a week and said he was driving but didn't know he hit her and still received a traffic ticket, what do you think everyone would have been saying? What a gosh-darned goody good guy he was? Or that he "got off" with a plea bargain before any real evidence came to light? At least the way it happened, the DA had a month to investigate, and still couldn't find anything to show that Lynch was drunk and/or knew he hit her. If anything, blame the DA for allowing things to drag out so long. As for sending a clear message, yeah, he sure sent one to Marshall last year. And he was just arrested for disorderly conduct, but charges were dropped. How long of a suspension should Goodell give him, now that Marshall "has a file?"
  18. He didn't let Lynch slide last year.
  19. If Brandon Marshall got 1 game for beating-up his woman almost a dozen times (that we know of), Lynch shouldn't be suspended at all.
  20. Do people actually read what's being written in the posts in this thread? Birk had NO INTEREST in coming to the Bills. Therefore they could NEVER have signed him.
  21. Or Dockery. But I guess having him versus having no LG currently IS a downgrade.
  22. True. And the season is about to start tomorrow. They should cancel it.
  23. I heard that the Bills contacted him, but he told them to pound sand.
