  1. It's not even close. Everett was a JuCo player who barely put-up decent stats there. In Miami he was barely used, although they had some good prospects in front of him in Shockey and KWII. That's not to say he couldn't have turned-into something, but his knee injury pretty much derailed his career from the start, and then he had the neck injury and it was over.
  2. The Patriots played the Eagles the year before, and they played teams they faced in the playoffs during those seasons. Which goes to the point about how they blew through the season in 2007 despite getting caught, because teams rarely change their signals, much less in-season. There were questions about Belichick and Brady. Like how a career losing HC coming off a 5-11 season suddenly "shocks the world," and wins 3 SB's. Or how a 6th round pick suddenly becomes a 3-time SB winner. It raises questions, and there seem to be some answers.
  3. They tore through the league and the playoffs...but lost in the SB, in a fashion not unlike their 3 last-minute SB wins. And without those SB wins, Brady has no legacy.
  4. The cheating destroys his legacy. Same for Brady. Patriots lovers will try and argue otherwise, but that's understandable.
  5. Goodell's still waiting for the checks from the Bucs and Saints. The Pats have him on retainer.
  6. Apparently not. The Dols wouldn't have signed Taylor if Wake proved to be worth anything. But Taylor isn't the player he once was.
  7. My Magic 8-ball says "ask again later."
  8. True. They sign castoffs from 0-16 teams (Bodden) to make an impact.
  9. they sign released players as well.
  10. They like what they've seen of Larry Grant...in OTA's? And he's 6'1" and 235#.
  11. This is unreal. You've not only never seen him play (obviously you missed the Bills-Rams game last year where he had 6 tackles ), but you've never heard of him. Yet you're still giving us your opinion, based solely on the fact that he was cut. And even if PT were a "difference-maker," that Rams defense is pretty horrible throughout. How much difference do you suppose a "difference-maker" can make all by himself?
  12. Darn. And here I was expecting him to cure cancer.
  13. Statistics can only tell so much.
  14. I'm hoping that the interest by the Pats, whether real or not, compels the Bills to make a strong push to sign him. And realistically, at this point, expecting any better options to emerge is wishful thinking.
  15. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean that others (like me) also haven't, or that "yes it is" a case of "signing a player just to sign a player." Do I care why Spagnuolo cut him? No I don't. All I care is that he's an upgrade over Ellison, which he is. And Levi Jones won't be ready to pass a physical for a month or so.
  16. PT was 231# at the combine. I think that slimming-down to 220# was probably at the request of the coaching staff.
  17. PT is 240#. I'd love this signing. Now if they could just get another stud DT...
  18. The Pats are hurting for LB'ers. They have Wood and Thomas who are good, and Bruschi, who is on the downswing, but no quality 4th starting LB'er and no depth.
  19. I don't recall any reports of him being "stiff" as the reason they moved him to OG. I recall it was because Peters was at RT and Gandy was at LT, and they had a need at OG.
  20. I had that very thought the other day. Would add another wrinkle to the offense, even if they never use him as a receiver.
  21. What would the soldier do to Dubya and Cheney, the masterminds of this pathetic escapade, if they were in that elevator?
  22. I don't want a "nice man" playing LT. I want a guy who wants to rip his opponent's head off every play. Maybe he can envision his opponent as being his estranged father?
  23. Actually, it will have been about a year and 5 months (in the Bills' strength and conditioning program).
  24. The Bills tried to negotiate with Peters last off-season, but he refused to even talk to them. This past off-season he demanded to be the highest-paid LT in the game after a subpar season. I have no problem with how the they handled him, after giving him a large extension after just 2 years of developing him, only to see him act like a dick after his first Pro Bowl season, and continue to act like a dick after a subpar season. I also wasn't keen on the Bills throwing a ton of money at him, only to find out last year wasn't a fluke and that he'll continue to miss at least 2 games a year due to injury and/or has had his talent robbed by injury. After seeing him lie and make excuses at his Philly PC, I was glad he and his pathetic attitude are gone. Besides, committing almost 10% of the salary cap to a LT is crazy, especially since you don't need a great LT to be successful. As for Dockery, they tried trading him, and all they got was a last-second 2010 7th round offer. What more did you fantasize they'd get? And just because they didn't have a plan (which isn't true since they were looking at OG's, who are still available, and still had the draft) for his replacement is no reason not to cut him. The Bills obviously like Wood and Levitre enough that they're willing to starter them despite being able to make minimal changes by having Wood or Levitre start at LG and putting Chambers or Bell at LT. And you see, those options still exist.
